Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2062.5 - Level nine green skinned monster

A squad leader of the Guangyao Battle Squad from Cloud Peak Villa.

He judged this person should be at the seven-star level. His team members around him were all six-star, and their equipment was mostly green-grade.

But such a person, no, such a team, was actually all killed within just over ten minutes?

Beside Squad Leader Niu Zhan were the corpses of his other team members, but the corpses were not very complete, and their deaths were gruesome.

Zhang Jialun looked around and found this place wasnʼt too far from where he stood before. Had those monsters forced humans to retreat this far already?

”Rear formation, be careful!”

”Rear formation, be careful!”

Shouts suddenly came from ahead. Zhang Jialunʼs team immediately gathered closer to their leader. This was a signal that the enemy had broken through the frontline and penetrated the inner formation.

”What the...”

A comrade just looked up and subconsciously uttered these words. Zhang Jialun naturally saw it too. Ahead of the team, a group of monsters numbering at least a hundred charged towards them. The leading one was like a three-headed velociraptor.
This type of monster did not appear in the information Cloud Peak gave them.

But whatever it was, they could only engage. They couldnʼt let these monsters penetrate deep into the human formation; otherwise, it would turn into chaotic combat.

And chaotic combat was the way with the highest casualties in the post-apocalyptic world.

”Kill the lead horse first!”

The team leader roared, charging forward with his weapon.

Lead horse referred to the foremost enemy in such narrow-path encounters. The one at the front was often either the strongest or the most courageous. Killing it immediately would boost their own morale and weaken the enemy.

His weapon transformed into a beam of light, slashing towards this monster standing four meters tall.

Everyone followed with attacks, pouring various energies and skills towards this monster group.

The collision was intense. Zhang Jialun had only managed to deliver one slash when he saw the leader, who had flown out first, come flying back. Then, warm liquid sprinkled down.

Blood!

Zhang Jialun was all too familiar with the temperature and smell of this liquid.

His skill was already used, and because he was at the slightly rear edge of the team, he immediately retreated to catch the leader, preventing him from falling to the ground.

But when Zhang Jialun looked down at the leader, his heart sank. The leaderʼs abdomen had a wound that almost split him in two. His body wasnʼt severed, only held by his spine and some flesh on his back. More terrifyingly, the wound area was a pale gray, as if petrified, unsure what ability caused it.

”Let Ai Dadu take, take my position. This time, after this, you all should join, join Cloud Peak.”

After saying this, knowing his life was ending, this leader used his last strength to push Zhang Jialun away. ”Go, go...”

Zhang Jialun gritted his teeth, took a deep breath, suppressed his emotions, roared, and rejoined the team. His leader lay on the ground watching, smiled, and closed his eyes.

The leaderʼs death completely ignited the teamʼs ferocity. They attacked the monster that killed the leader like madmen. By the time they killed this monster, which had strength of at least level eight, the team only had fifteen or sixteen people left.

Zhang Jialun was lucky; he didnʼt die, but his left shoulder was bitten, losing a large chunk of flesh, and a piece of bone was also gnawed off. Recovery was impossible in the short term; he could only fight temporarily with one arm.

He glanced at his weapon, which was already slightly damaged again, and wanted to look for a Cloud Peak supply team member. But he suddenly saw soldiers on their side falling in one direction, like a small forest swept by a hurricane.

Then, a green shadow appeared in Zhang Jialunʼs field of vision, but disappeared to the side an instant later.

Zhang Jialun immediately ran backward.

His gaze moved over the humans coming from behind.

He wasnʼt running away; he needed to deliver a message. He knew Cloud Peak had a fast method of relaying messages. He had to find Cloud Peak warriors as soon as possible.

Fortunately, after just two seconds, he saw a person dressed entirely in blue equipment and his team of over forty people all in green gear.

That must be an elite assault team from Cloud Peak.

”Level nine green-skinned monster! Level nine green-skinned monster!”

Zhang Jialun ran towards them while shouting with all his might!

The figure in blue equipment paused for a moment, then immediately spoke a few words into a device on his arm. This person, who was at least a mid-level leader in Cloud Peak, not only didnʼt retreat but began directing his subordinates to have the humans here fall back.

Zhang Jialun grinned. As long as Cloud Peak was notified, then top-tier lifeforms of the same caliber would come to assist here.

He suddenly felt a chill in his body and instinctively looked down. He saw a claw, appearing utterly terrifying and vicious, protruding from his chest, though he didnʼt know when it got there.

Then he saw the claw move slightly, and Zhang Jialun sighed inwardly.

So Iʼm still going to die.

He knew the creature behind him was that green-skinned monster with level nine strength. Otherwise, even a level eight enemy couldnʼt appear behind him so quickly and silently without him or the people around noticing.

Dying at the hands of a top-tier lifeform seemed somewhat fitting.

Zhang Jialun intended to close his eyes and await death because, using common sense, the next step would be this monstrous hand tearing him apart.

But he felt a pain in his body, growing increasingly intense, making Zhang Jialun realize he was still alive. He opened his eyes again and found two brown, branch-like things had been inserted into his shoulders at some point, even forming a knot there, pulling him out of the monsterʼs grip and throwing him aside.

Zhang Jialun escaped death but was severely injured, unable to move. Fortunately, several Cloud Peak warriors came over and pulled him back.

As his body moved, Zhang Jialun finally saw who saved his life. It was an incredibly graceful female figure. On her back, over a hundred branches danced in the wind.

Compared to the green-skinned monster standing five meters tall opposite, this female lifeformʼs back appeared so delicate, possessing a strange, peerless beauty.

However, before Zhang Jialun passed out, he heard this female being say something that accelerated his fainting.

”Damn you! Old lady is going to shove your head up your ass today!”
