Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2065: All out attack

With a thunderous boom, the surrounding lifeforms all fled far away, whether they were Cloud Peak warriors or those parasites.

The power of those flames seemed to raise the temperature of the entire Mei City by several degrees.

Fierce fighting sounds still emanated from within the flames, letting everyone know the two top-tier lifeforms were still battling.

Mo Ye, who stood beside Xia Lei, was already gone; only Yellow Ball was there. But Yellow Ball had already stood up, looking at the battlefield below with a look of eagerness.

However, its task today was to protect Xia Lei, so it couldnʼt leave; it could only watch.

Currently, Mei City was engulfed in battle everywhere, but Cloud Peak began to hold a significant advantage. The participation of top-tier lifeforms made the parasites, who had previously withstood the offensive, begin to collapse.

Whether it was Little Tigerʼs cavalry unit, Li Daqianʼs War Beast Legion and his war team, or the air force, they were almost slaughtering their opponents, with minimal casualties on their own side. The parasitesʼ unorganized resistance appeared exceptionally fragile under such large-scale, rapid assaults.

This was akin to cavalry versus infantry combat in the cold weapon era. Of course, these monsters were not comparable to infantry, but Cloud Peakʼs teams were also infinitely more powerful than ordinary cavalry.

”Xia Lei.”

Guangyaoʼs voice appeared through the Battle Merit Medal. The area he commanded had encountered a level nine parasite, suffering relatively the greatest losses.
Xia Lei shifted her gaze there, seeing that progress was also good there. The Death King Tree was suppressing its opponent and might resolve the battle anytime.

”Speak.”

”Itʼs a bit abnormal. Judging by the number of these parasites, the number of top-tier lifeforms among them definitely shouldnʼt be only two. But so far, a third still hasnʼt appeared. I suspect they are planning something. Have you noticed anything?” Guangyaoʼs voice came from the Battle Contribution Medal.

After hearing this, Xia Lei said, ”No discoveries for now. Iʼm also waiting for them to make a move. Currently, Deacon Tong and Big Yellow havenʼt moved yet; Chuyin and Mo Ye have only just entered the battlefield. If there are any changes, we also have the means to respond. Probably, these beasts wonʼt hold out much longer. If they donʼt come out again, they wonʼt have the chance.”

At this moment, without the pressure of top-tier lifeforms, attacks from all four directions proceeded very smoothly. A rough statistical report from the Exquisite Floating Balls had just been delivered. In the battle lasting forty minutes, nearly a million various parasites had been annihilated.

This was a very terrifying figure because even if a million lifeforms just stood there without fighting back, it would take a long time to kill them.

But Cloud Peakʼs previous attacks were mostly group-based. The first wave of attacks from long-range evolved killed tens of thousands of lifeforms. Later, each volley of V3-type grenade rockets numbered over two hundred thousand. Although not every rocket killed a parasite, eliminating sixty to seventy thousand each time was possible; three volleys approached two hundred thousand.

The number killed by self-destruct soldiers wasnʼt as exaggerated as the V3-type grenade rockets, given their smaller quantity. But they had high power, were dropped into the densest areas, and had electric nets assisting, also resulting in tens of thousands of kills.

Of course, donʼt forget the magic crystal cannons. The roar of thousands of magic crystal cannons concentrated fire on the previously dense swarm in the city center. Their power meant each shot necessarily killed many enemies. Although there were no specific statistics, they definitely killed more than the grenade rocket launchers.

Just these attacks basically eliminated six to seven hundred thousand parasites. Cloud Peakʼs other warriors accounted for the remainder.

Their own casualties were also some; that still needed post-battle statistics.

Now, Cloud Peakʼs attack perimeter had shrunk to within two kilometers inside Mei City.

After all, Mei City was only a small city. In peaceful times, it was probably just a fifth-tier city, with an urban area size around a thousand square kilometers. In other words, if the city was circular, the radius would be about seventeen to eighteen kilometers.

The occupied peripheral area of two kilometers basically covered around two hundred square kilometers, already one-fifth the size of Mei City.

It must be said that if it were a large city, not only might Cloud Peakʼs current numbers fail to complete the encirclement, but even if they could, fighting over five million parasites would increase the difficulty countless times over.

Here, the area was small, but the parasite count was too high. Under such density, Cloud Peak could very effectively leverage strengths and avoid weaknesses in combat.

”I always feel uneasy. I remember Zhongming said he once encountered a three-tailed green-skinned monster, very special, determining it possessed extremely high intelligence and formidable strength. Although that guy isnʼt necessarily here, what if it is... then...”

As one of Cloud Peakʼs main strategists and tacticians, Guangyao considered things far more than others. Even the slightest piece of information wouldnʼt escape him.

Regarding the three-tailed monster Ye Zhongming mentioned, others might have long forgotten, but Guangyao always remembered. And since Ye Zhongming transmitted the message for Cloud Peak to kill as many parasites as possible, that monsterʼs image became increasingly vivid and alive in Guangyaoʼs mind.

Following that was immense worry.

Guangyao was calm, fair, and extremely principled. Even in the post-apocalyptic world, his requirements for his war team werenʼt much different from those in peaceful times.

Such a somewhat ʼindependentʼ person, didnʼt he revere Ye Zhongming like other Cloud Peak members? Wrong. Such a person could better understand what Ye Zhongming did, thus respected Ye Zhongming even more, even regarding him as a spiritual mentor.

Since the mentor had expressed worry about the three-tailed monster back when it was just in its juvenile stage, Guangyao had even less reason to overlook it.

Xia Lei knew about this matter. Guangyao had previously raised this issue with her, and she also kept it in mind. Hearing Guangyao mention it, she frowned and said, ”No matter what abilities it has or how powerful it is, letʼs see how it turns the tables.”

At that moment, huge cheers came from one direction. Xia Lei looked over; it was the southeast direction. Cloud Peakʼs cavalry and the War Beast Legion had successfully joined forces; they had already carved a path through the parasite swarm along their route.

”Little Tiger, Li Daqian, reorganize your teams on the spot. Teams on both flanks protect their wings. Everyone else, eliminate enemies. All forces, charge forward!”

Xia Lei made the correct decision at this moment: launch a full-scale attack when the enemy was already on the verge of collapse.

As if confirming her decision, the Death King Tree suddenly burst with countless branches in its direction. The huge level nine demon monster was impaled on these branches, lifeless and limp. Over at Yangos, the outcome was also decided. The evil dragon stood up from the flames, roaring at the sky. Though covered in wounds, even with one wing broken, it held the enemyʼs head in its claw!
