Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2068: I am not a top tier lifeform, but

If people were asked to choose the most low-key top-tier lifeform at Cloud Peak, at least 80% would choose Yellow Ball.

Before becoming a level nine lifeform, Yellow Ball had illustrious military achievements and was one of the most relied-upon variant lifeforms in all of Cloud Peak.

Its growth mirrored Cloud Peak’s strengthening.

Because dogs have had a special relationship with humans since ancient times, Big Yellow was readily accepted by Cloud Peak Villaʼs evolved residents. Moreover, as the Cloud Peak Kingʼs first war beast, it became the most popular existence in the entire villa. From core members down to ordinary warriors, everyone adored Yellow Ball.

Later came the Death King Tree, Yangos, Little Tiger, Mo Ye, Xia Baiʼs Female Guard, and many top-tier lifeforms. This meant Yellow Ball was no longer a war beast and existence that Cloud Peak necessarily had to rely on.

So often, whether to protect Yellow Ball or for other reasons, Big Yellow wasnʼt assigned tasks when they werenʼt necessary. Its biggest task became protecting the villa.

After all, everyone trusted Big Yellow the most; with it at the villa, everyone could feel at ease.

But this didnʼt mean Yellow Ballʼs strength declined; on the contrary. Even after Ye Zhongming went to the Cosmic Races, Cloud Peak continued equipping Yellow Ball.

Now, it was the only top-tier lifeform at Cloud Peak with a complete set of beast equipment.

Beast equipment differed from ordinary gear, especially for top-tier lifeforms, requiring very high quality.
Its rarity far exceeded purple-grade equipment.

Previously, Yellow Ball had beast equipment, and even Yangos had some. But after they evolved to level nine, this equipment couldnʼt withstand the pressure from these top-tier lifeformsʼ bodies and became unusable.

Now, the set on Yellow Ball entirely came from the level nine wheel, a byproduct of Cloud Peak spinning the level nine wheel. A set of five pieces; four came this way. The remaining piece was also one of the benefits of Cloud Peak occupying most of the region.

Yellow Ball, possessing a complete beast equipment set and a special constitution, was one of the three entities the evil dragon absolutely must not provoke.

Thus, when it charged into the sky, the imposing manner it displayed was far beyond ordinary top-tier lifeforms.

Those descending top-tier green-skinned demon monsters immediately split off three to intercept Yellow Ball.

Big Yellow fearlessly adjusted its body using mechanical wings, aimed at an angle, and spewed a golden mist.

All lifeforms, including Cloud Peak’s people, saw Yellow Ball, now a top-tier lifeform, in action for the first time.

This thick golden mist obscured a large patch of sky. The three top-tier green-skinned demon monsters coming for it were immediately enveloped.

No one could deny the green-skinned demon monstersʼ strength. At the same level, their power actually surpassed ordinary evolved lifeforms, especially regarding bodies. Their strength, agility, etc., gave them an absolute advantage. Even with equipment help, evolved found it hard to kill them one-on-one at the same level.

Evolvedʼs advantage lay in utilizing more powerful equipment, better organization, and stronger skills.

But for war beasts, it was different. Many war beasts also had bodily advantages evolved couldnʼt compare to. In this aspect, even if green-skinned demon monsters were stronger than war beasts, the gap wasnʼt as exaggerated as when compared to evolvers.

So, in the previous battle against these parasites, Little Tigerʼs cavalry unit and Li Daqianʼs War Beast Legion killed the most per unit time because they minimized the parasitesʼ greatest advantage.

As level nine lifeforms, beings like Yellow Ball and Yangos, outstanding in bodily aspects, werenʼt very afraid of green-skinned demon monsters. Moreover, the abilities they possessed were something green-skinned demon monsters couldnʼt have.

For example, the ability Yellow Ball used now—this large golden mist—was an innate skill gained upon becoming a level nine lifeform. The mistʼs range was vast; three descending green-skinned demon monsters couldnʼt possibly avoid it.

They were immediately surrounded by the mist, which seemed to home in on these disgusting creatures, attaching to them. In the next moment, the three affected demon monsters shrieked in terror and plummeted straight from the sky.

Yellow Ball didnʼt even glance at them, flapped mechanical wings, and charged towards another green-skinned demon monster nearest to it. Just before impact, a shadow identical to Yellow Ball shot out from its body, pouncing on the demon monster, directly knocking it away.

Meanwhile, Yellow Ballʼs true body swept past it, confronting the fifth green-skinned demon monster.

Everything happened within seconds, too fast to follow. Those who saw this scene understood Yellow Ballʼs intent after a momentʼs daze. This loyal dog of the Cloud Peak King still aimed to prevent these demon monsters from threatening Xia Lei on the ground.

If humans understood, green-skinned demon monsters naturally did too. After a faint, almost imperceptible cry, the green-skinned demon monster previously intimidated by Yellow Ballʼs fearless momentum immediately shrieked and actively charged forward. Simultaneously, another green-skinned demon monster beside Big Yellow abandoned its previous descending posture, twisted its body forcefully, and pounced on Yellow Ball, already not far away.

Yellow Ball, originally intending to use a skill, had to abort and grapple with the two green-skinned demon monsters. It glanced at the Talking Lady on the ground. For now, this was all Big Yellow could do. Even if it somewhat distrusted the Talking Lady and Black Cat, regardless, the remaining green-skinned demon monsters could only be left to them.

Yellow Ball itself tied up six green-skinned demon monsters. The remaining four landed around the Talking Lady and Black Cat.

As a mental-type variant lifeform, the Talking Lady didnʼt use mental shock-type skills against the green-skinned demon monsters. She had tried before, but the effect was poor.

She moved one step closer towards Xia Leiʼs direction, then put Black Cat down. Black Cat immediately turned into a black lightning bolt, charging at the green-skinned demon monster nearest to them.

That green-skinned demon monster also unyieldingly waved its sharp claws, meeting this opponent countless times smaller.

Changes appeared in the Talking Ladyʼs eyes; some silver, mysterious symbols flashed. Simultaneously, her hands, now identical to humansʼ, emitted faint halos. When raised, the halos on her hands became two faintly visible light ribbons. Somehow, the moment they appeared, they connected to two green-skinned demon monsters. The three lifeforms connected this way immediately couldnʼt move.

”Still short by one.” The Talking Lady sighed, speaking to Xia Lei beside her.

Xia Lei smiled. ”Itʼs fine; Iʼm already grateful. Just one shouldnʼt be a problem.”

As she spoke, a faint shadow appeared on Xia Leiʼs other side.
