Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2087: Series of blows (3)

Duoqihaishiʼs right eyelid had been twitching constantly lately, making him uneasy.

He looked at the twelve people following him and felt a bit better.

The Huaitang Clan had dispatched several grain transport teams, not only traditional convoys but also small teams like his. Each of them carried spatial equipment containing grain.

Seven normal transport teams and three spatial transport teams—this was the Huaitang Clanʼs entire force.

Facing the hidden enemyʼs targeting, the Huaitang Clan did not simply sit idle; they also made extensive preparations. Guessing transport teams might be attacked, they sent out so many together.

No one would think a small team with multiple pieces of spatial equipment was used for transporting grain. With that effort, transporting something else would be much more cost-effective.

However, the situation was exceptional; doing this ensured absolute safety.

A twelve-person teamʼs combat power was very strong. Their average Furelai was approximately 15,000. As the captain, Duoqihaishi exceeded twenty thousand.

In the Huaitang Clan, they indeed couldnʼt be considered top-tier figures, but people of this level were equivalent to the Star-Eye Clanʼs gold warriors.

Duoqihaishi shook his head, thinking it was really unlucky to think of the Star-Eye Clan.
”Move faster. Past here, itʼs close to Darkstrip City. Get home early, sleep early.” Duoqihaishi said to his team members behind him.

Everyone laughed and joked; there was no tense atmosphere at all.

Regarding the clanʼs food shortage, these warriors raised by the clan didnʼt have deep feelings.

”Wait!”

Duoqihaishi suddenly stopped, raising his fist, his gaze sweeping around.

The Huaitang Clanʼs senses were extremely sharp. Duoqihaishi, with the highest strength, detected something wrong.

”Indeed, Huaitang people, really sensitive like cats.”

A voice suddenly reached the ears of the thirteen Huaitang Clan warriors, making them instinctively form up and look around.

”Here!”

A shadow suddenly rushed out from behind a large rock ahead, so fast that people could only see a blur.

”Engage!”

Duoqihaishi roared, charging forward as the vanguard.

No matter what came ahead, they could only fight. Just from the opponentʼs speed, escape was impossible.

At the same time, Duoqihaishi didnʼt think there was anything they couldnʼt fight. Perhaps defeating the opponent could reveal the truth behind the grain destruction.

But his team members hesitated.

”Captain, thatʼs... a mechanical warbeast!”

Someone behind shouted this, but it was too late. Duoqihaishi had already taken this step, and the opposing shadow collided right then.

”Wrong, thereʼs something in the sky too!”

Just before collision, these sensitive Huaitang people felt something odd. They looked up and saw a huge white dragon shadow rapidly descending toward them.

They raised their weapons to respond. As for the captain, heʼd have to hold on alone for now.

But suddenly, a massive mental shock spread from the front, instantly engulfing the thirteen people.

The mechanical warbeastʼs first ability, Radiant Activation, was unleashed.

This was an expanded form of mental shock, allowing the controller to enhance the mechanical warbeastʼs released mental power.

Ye Zhongming, with his expertise in mental power, found this ability almost tailor-made for him.

After Radiant Activation, everyone in the Huaitang Clan team felt dizzy and stinging pain; their minds blank for a moment.

Ye Zhongming drove Mountain Rage near Duoqihaishi. The huge mechanical claw rose, its sharp metal spikes like knives slashing across the small captainʼs body. The sound of armor tearing was very piercing, and blood sprayed out.

Such battle armor, slightly better than ordinary grade, was too fragile before the Raini-grade mechanical warbeast made of high-end metal.

Intense pain brought Duoqihaishi back from the mental shock. Knowing it was a life-or-death moment, he mustered all his strength to swing the weapon in his hand.

Unfortunately, before he could do anything, his head was bitten by Mountain Wrathʼs mouth. The sharp teeth exerted force, and Duoqihaishi died instantly.

Even with over twenty thousand Furelai, he couldnʼt withstand Ye Zhongming and Raini-grade equipmentʼs combination.

At this moment, White Dragon Horse also descended from the sky, crashing among these Huaitang Clan members. Under gravity and inertia, four or five people directly below were killed on the spot. Then White Dragon Horse went on a killing spree among the slow-reacting crowd, wiping out the enemies in less than thirty seconds.

Ye Zhongming emerged from Mountain Rage and cleaned up the battlefield. After all, White Dragon Horse killed but didnʼt eat people.

”Oh, there are other teams here, too. Looks like thereʼs still time.” He checked Duoqihaishiʼs terminal and found some information.

Putting Mountain Rage back into his spatial equipment, he leaped onto White Dragon Horseʼs back. ”Letʼs go, westward ho!”

………………

Cloud Peakʼs people crushed one after another, grain transport teams. Ye Zhongming and almost the entire Bronze Camp were mobilized. Stronger thousand-person teams dealt with one transport team alone; weaker or newly formed ones, like the Eleventh Thousand-Person Team, cooperated in pairs to attack. Although there were losses, all successfully completed tasks, crushing and eliminating all Huaitang Clan grain teams.

The Huaitang Clan, upon receiving the news, was thrown into chaos. They already realized the seriousness of the problem, but they still didnʼt think of the Star-Eye Clan. Nearly four thousand warriors from ten grain transport teams, large and small—none returned alive, missing in action, no bodies. This wasnʼt something the Star-Eye Clan could do; at least, they felt the Star-Eye Clan couldnʼt.

Previously, destroying grain fields didnʼt involve deaths. But now, so many warriors died at once, including over twenty mid-level forces with Furelai over two thousand—this was no small matter.

After holding a high-level meeting, the Huaitang Clan leader made decisions. First, seek help from other Eight Heads of Darkstrip City, asking them to use city guards to find the mastermind behind the scenes. Then use aircraft to transport grain from other survivor fortresses directly, in large batches, solving this problem once and for all, not letting the other party choke them in this aspect.

Finally, declaration that the Huaitang Clan entered a pre-war state, with the entire clan on alert.

…………………………

Outer space, a ghostly fleet floated in a meteor belt, like dozens of huge monsters.

Jie Su sat on the flagship, watching the busy people below.

This fleet consisted of twenty-seven vessels in total. Ten were transport ships, all the most cost-effective ʼTidal Seaʼ-grade. The other seventeen were all escort ships. Different were: twelve ʼLofʼ-grade escort ships, four ʼHeavy Tideʼ-grade escort ships, plus the flagship ʼEmpty Breezeʼ-grade battleship.
