Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2070: I am not a top lifeform but (3)

”One is a master-servant contract scroll, the other is a soul contract scroll.”

Xia Lei waved the two scrolls in her hands and said with a smile, ”You didnʼt break off your ability, nor did you let your Black Cat abandon the attack. So, how about using the soul contract? You and I will sign it.”

”You know, Iʼm only at the eight-star level. The soul contract is essentially a friendship contract, with little restriction on you. Shall we sign this one?”

The Talking Lady looked at Xia Lei seriously and said, ”Although I really donʼt like your method, reason tells me I should agree. Otherwise, both Black Cat and I will die today, right?”

”Even... when youʼre so in need of help?”

No top-tier lifeform lacked a temper, especially the Talking Lady, who was absolutely among the most powerful, even among top-tier lifeforms.

What Xia Lei said, the fish skin with extremely high intelligence could understand. But so what? Could that serve as a reason to make her submit?

Perhaps with a different approach, the Talking Lady felt she might accept more easily. But now, it was simply coercion.

The Talking Lady disliked being coerced. Since becoming such a miraculous existence, the only one who could coerce her was the Cloud Peak King, who had gone to the skies.

She still stayed here, obeying Cloud Peakʼs commands, partly due to previous inertia. After all, the previous ”running away from home” almost cost her life. Although misfortune turned to fortune, allowing evolution to level nine, that lingering fear remained fresh in her mind. When not necessary, she sometimes thought staying at Cloud Peak was fine. Xia Lei was also tactful, never summoning her except during major battles.
The other half was fear in the Talking Ladyʼs heart.

Ye Zhongming was indeed temporarily not on Earth, but who knew when he would return? And how powerful would he be upon returning?

No matter how proud the Talking Lady was, even with Black Catʼs help, she didnʼt dare provoke the eight-star Ye Zhongming when she first reached level nine, let alone after Ye Zhongming became nine-star, went to the cosmos, and returned!

She feared doing something that would get her instantly killed upon his return.

Besides Ye Zhongming, the terrifying strength Cloud Peak displayed during this period also made the Talking Lady dare not act rashly.

Top-tier lifeforms appeared one after another. The small villa seemed like a top-tier lifeform manufacturing machine. The level she prided herself on became increasingly insignificant here.

If she chose to leave now, the Talking Lady wasnʼt sure Cloud Peak would let her go. If Ye Zhongming were still here, there might be some possibility; he might be magnanimous enough not to care about her. But the Black-hearted Queen... would definitely kill her, because that would ensure she and Black Cat wouldnʼt become enemies, plus gain two level nine magic crystals.

If everything remained as before, the Talking Lady would continue staying at Cloud Peak. Perhaps one day, when Cloud Peak had so many top-tier lifeforms they didnʼt need her at all, she could decide for herself whether to stay or leave.

But such an opportunity appeared now.

Previously, leaving Cloud Peak had concerns. But if Cloud Peak declined or even ceased to exist? Then perhaps... true freedom could be achieved?

Such thoughts occasionally appeared in the Talking Ladyʼs mind, even once intensely.

No matter how much her appearance resembled a humanʼs, she was ultimately a variant lifeform, a top-tier variant lifeform. Her instincts drove her to dislike being bound.

Just now, an excellent opportunity appeared. If the Talking Lady didnʼt act, or even pretended to hesitate, not acting promptly, letting something happen to Xia Lei, then whether she turned against Cloud Peak later or stood aside sentimentally, she would achieve the outcome she desired.

But in that instant, the Talking Lady still acted. She and Black Cat together held back three top-tier green-skinned demon monsters.

This was the limit of their abilities. Mental-type existences werenʼt suited to deal with lifeforms minimally affected by mental powers yet extremely physically robust.

The Talking Lady left the future to... what humans called fate.

If Xia Lei couldnʼt handle the remaining top-tier green-skinned demon monster in the end, she would naturally die. Her death basically meant Cloud Peakʼs defeat in this battle. How many could escape then was unclear; those returning to the villa would likely collapse shortly.

After all, besides Xia Lei, no one else could suppress Cloud Peakʼs proud and fierce troops with their own prestige or strength.

In that case, the Talking Lady would naturally gain freedom.

If Xia Lei could withstand it, it showed Cloud Peak was truly powerful, strong enough that even using millions of lives as bait couldnʼt defeat them. Then what was there to hesitate about? Just stay peacefully at Cloud Peak.

In reality, Xia Lei had a backup plan, quite formidable. Once appearing, she directly killed ”fate.” At that moment, the Talking Lady also knew her future fate was set.

But what she didnʼt expect was that after deciding to sincerely submit, Xia Lei still wasnʼt reassured, even producing a soul contract scroll, seemingly the highest grade, which could ignore levels as long as both parties consented.

She was angry, which is why the question was cold.

As a top-tier variant lifeform, when angry, the Talking Lady didnʼt hesitate to fight desperately.

”Is the current situation very bad?” Xia Lei had been staring intently at the Talking Ladyʼs eyes and facial expressions. Undeniably, no matter how human-like or intelligent the Speechless Woman was, she still differed slightly from real humans. At least in such situations, she didnʼt know how to conceal her emotions.

Of course, in reality, most people couldnʼt keep their emotions from showing either.

A seasoned person like Xia Lei naturally grasped the Talking Lady’s inner thoughts from these expressions.

So she smiled again and said, ”Little girl, it seems your understanding of Cloud Peak isnʼt deep enough. Then watch first, then decide.”

Since the Talking Lady actually identified with Cloud Peak, Xia Lei didnʼt mind waiting. Constantly using forceful suppression wasnʼt a long-term solution either.

”Theyʼre coming.”

Xia Lei raised her smooth, delicate chin. The Talking Lady looked over and saw the three green-skinned demon monsters knocked from the sky by Yellow Ball earlier, after landing, were charging towards them. But their bodies now had scattered golden patches, impossible to remove no matter how they tried, stuck to them. Clearly, their agility decreased because of these patches.

Additionally, from another direction, the green-skinned demon monster knocked away by Yellow Ballʼs own shadow also approached. It had no golden patches, but its head and abdomen were bloodied, clearly severely injured by Big Yellow’s earlier attack.

With Yellow Ball in the sky and the Talking Lady and Black Cat on the ground entangled, Xia Lei and Zhao Xiangxue were about to face four top-tier green-skinned demon monsters.

”Watch carefully.” Xia Lei reached out and touched the Speechless Womanʼs smooth cheek. ”Although Iʼm not a top-tier lifeform... Iʼm not so easy to kill.”
