Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2067.5- Going towards death to live

The most terrifying aspect was the chaos.

Cloud Peakʼs teams were still okay, but donʼt forget, most evolved here werenʼt Cloud Peak-affiliated warriors. They didnʼt have the steadfast conviction of Cloud Peak warriors, nor their outstanding combat competence.

When they discovered the headquarters location was ambushed, with seemingly endless monsters descending from the sky, many had already collapsed.

Their thought wasnʼt to hold steady but to flee, or at least withdraw to assess the situation. Their psychological behavior drastically reduced the combat power of the entire Cloud Peak allied forces, instantly causing them to lose their suppression over Mei Cityʼs interior.

In contrast, these parasites, though over one point five million were killed in just a few hours, still had three million surviving. The moment their comrades launched the attack, they naturally erupted with all their strength, launching a frenzied counterattack against humans.

Their own chaos, enemy counterattack—human troops that had just charged deep into Mei City were being pushed out at an even faster rate. During this process, countless humans were killed!

Guangyao, seeing this situation clearly, issued those orders.

Chaos? Doesnʼt matter. These people, including some Cloud Peak battles, just need to hold off the nearly three million parasites here. What he truly needed was for Little Tigerʼs cavalry unit, the air force led by Red Hair and the Undead Dragonfish, and Deacon Tongʼs war team on the periphery to rush to the headquarters at the fastest speed.

First, ensure the headquartersʼ safety as much as possible; other things could come later!

Around the headquarters were the Talking Lady and Black Cat, who had just withdrawn from battle, the injured evil dragon Yangos, the unharmed Yellow Ball, and Xia Leiʼs own war team. Guangyao didnʼt believe these lifeforms would be easily killed... even if they had to face enemies numbering a million, definitely with many top-tier lifeforms among them!
As long as Cloud Peak had some time, once the Talking Lady, the Undead Dragonfish, Little Tiger, Deacon Tong, and a few other top-tier lifeforms arrived there, once the cavalry unit, air force, and the war team based on the Five Ring Money arrived there, everything would improve.

Three war teams plus Xia Leiʼs war team and the zombie horde numbered close to three hundred thousand. With eight top-tier lifeforms, they seemed to be able to hold.

And once Mei City stabilized here, Mo Ye and the Death King Tree could also rush over to help!

Also, donʼt forget that Cloud Peak still had an unused reserve force: the gene warrior legion! Once Liang Chuyin returned to Liu Zhenghong and Le Dayuanʼs side, this gene warrior legion could intervene in the Mei City battlefield or bypass Mei City to reinforce the headquarters.

Everything seemed to have reached a critical point: whether the headquartersʼ defensive battle could hold.

”Have Chuyin and the gene soldier legion both go to reinforce the headquarters. Sister Rongʼs war team is enough here.”

Liu Zhenghongʼs voice came from the Battle Contribution Badge. She understood the key to this battle now lay at the headquarters, so she suggested this.

”No!” At this moment, Guangyao showed his firmness as a commander. ”I cannot give these monsters another ambush opportunity. Not only canʼt we take away your protection force, but once the battlefield situation shows a deteriorating trend, you must immediately return to Cloud Peak!”

Liu Zhenghong frowned but said nothing.

”Weʼll leave now. After Sister Rong escorts us away, she stays here to fight.” Le Dayuan suddenly said.

Naturally, they still wanted to stay to collect data; various intelligence obtainable here far exceeded what they got in testing grounds. Real combat was always better than tests.

But under these circumstances, staying here only tied up Cloud Peakʼs forces. Le Dayuan immediately proposed leaving.

Without hesitation, Guangyao said, ”Good. Sister Rong, escort Master Le and Sister Hong away. Chuyin, you continue moving closer as a precaution. After completion, your war team stays, re-enters Mei City, and you go to the headquarters to help.”

Guangyao made slight adjustments to the battlefield commands.

But he knew that, no matter the adjustments, any effect would be felt in later battles. What determined the battleʼs direction was still the headquarters.

But... could Xia Lei hold?

………………………………

A huge golden net appeared above Xia Lei and the headquarters members behind her. At the junctions of the grid, metal spheres grew like fruits.

The moment these monsters from the void appeared, Yellow Ball reacted.

Its task today was originally to protect Xia Lei, just as a precaution. Who would have thought something actually happened?

Big Yellow stood up proudly, looked up at the densely packed enemies in the sky, and battle intent surging. It let out a resounding bark at the enemies all over the sky, its body seeming to glow, making it hard to look directly at.

Yangos wasnʼt far away. At this moment, it struggled to Big Yellowʼs vicinity. It glanced at the enemies in the sky, said nothing, directly buried its head under its body, and fell into slumber.

The evil dragon wasnʼt afraid or avoiding battle; it chose to entrust everything to its comrades.

This was something it learned after becoming a level nine lifeform.

It knew the situation was extremely dire, knew the enemy choosing this place as the attack target certainly had its reasons. But regardless, currently, it had little combat power. Thus, the evil dragon chose slumber to recover quickly.

Of course, complete recovery was impossible. It needed to recover some combat power now, at least not just await death.

Yangosʼs ability was one of the dragon raceʼs innate talents, awakened at level nine. They could choose to enter slumber for a certain time, like an alarm clock. Upon waking at the set time, their injured bodies would recover somewhat. Specific recovery depended on injury severity and slumber duration.

Now, Yangos chose the shortest half-hour duration, recovering probably less than one-tenth of its combat power. But it could only do this. Later, even if it could spew a few dragon breaths, it would help the team.

The mass wrapping the monsters shattered. Demon monsters rained down. At the forefront were ten tall existences. Among green-skinned demon monsters where height could indicate strength, standing five meters tall, their strength was all top-tier, equivalent to level nine lifeforms!

These creatures used two top-tier lifeforms as bait, while the other top-tier lifeforms collectively appeared here!

Metal spheres on the metal net bounced up with pings, shooting into the air like cannonballs, numbering in the hundreds.

Many descending demon monsters were hit, their bodies directly pierced, turning from free-fall to death-fall.

Even those top-tier green-skinned demon monsters had to protect their bodies or simply punch these metal spheres away.

Yellow Ballʼs first attack immediately cleared some of the monsters above Xia Lei and the headquarters members.

But... the situation worsened further.

The ten top-tier lifeforms landed around Xia Lei and the others, meaning they were determined to paralyze Cloud Peakʼs command system. Around here, only Yellow Ball was a combat-capable top-tier lifeform. In a one-versus-ten situation, the outcome was predictable.

Using one skill only slightly delayed the descent speed of these top-tier lifeforms.

Yellow Ball knew it was time to fight desperately. Its body suddenly enlarged, using this ability. Simultaneously, a set of beast equipment appeared on it; mechanical wings gave it the ability to fly.

But it flapped twice without taking off to meet the enemy because that would completely expose Xia Lei.

”Iʼm here.”

The Talking Lady holding Black Cat suddenly appeared beside Yellow Ball. The zombie horde she led was also within the range of this enemy ambush.

Yellow Ball hesitated but heard Xia Lei say, ”Go. Remember, guerrilla tactics while waiting for reinforcements.”

Yellow Ball no longer lingered. With a loud roar, it charged into the sky, meeting ten opponents of the same level.

Facing death to seek life, without the slightest fear!
