Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2084.5- Revenge

”The Huaitang Clan.”

Ye Zhongming understood.

The Huaitang Clan was one of the Eight Heads of Darkstrip City, old rivals of the Star-Eye Clan, famous for their recovery ability and powerful perception.

The Star-Eye Clan were assassins; they were masters of perception. Their racial characteristics inherently determined their opposition.

Moreover, the Huaitang Clan exploited this trait to deliberately target the Star-Eye Clan, using them for profit, turning the gap into hatred and deepening grievances over time.

Although both sidesʼ development wasnʼt great, the Huaitang Clan always suppressed the Star-Eye Clan by one level. Now they were also a medium-sized clan, though already at the bottom. Perhaps in another city, they would already be considered a small clan.

Regarding the Star-Eye Clan, they spared no effort in persecution. For example, during the last Star-Eye Clan shopʼs reopening auction, the Huaitang Clan stood up to cause trouble. If Jie Su hadnʼt been there then, and if Ye Zhongming hadnʼt desperately used seven Red Condensation-grade equipment, they would have ruined the auction.

Now, perhaps seeing the Star-Eye Clan had some money—after all, the clan shop business was good, plus auction income—they could even buy land. Seeing there was profit to be made, they immediately pounced like mad dogs, buying that land at a low price, waiting for the Star-Eye Clan to make a move.

It must be said, these Huaitang Clan guys had sharp eyes and foresight. They used some money to gamble on the future decisions of the Star-Eye Clan and Ye Zhongming.

Clearly, they gambled correctly. The Star-Eye Clan indeed took a liking to this small plot that, once purchased, would make the land more regular.
But for the Star-Eye Clan people, this behavior was damn annoying. Raising the price was one thing, but it had to be reasonable. Ten times wasnʼt enough; they wanted twenty times to sell. That was extortion.

”Zhongming, what do you plan to do?”

Yasinan patted Ye Zhongmingʼs shoulder affectionately, asking for his opinion.

After all, this matter was Ye Zhongmingʼs private affair; his opinion should be primary.

Ye Zhongming thought for a moment and said, ”We definitely canʼt take this loss; otherwise, these guys will become even worse in the future.”

Yashinan nodded. That was the reality. The Huaitang Clan wouldnʼt stop just because you took a step back.

”In that case, please continue helping me buy the surrounding plots, still according to the previous plan, step by step, trying not to draw attention. Iʼll go discuss this matter with the two clan leaders.”

After some consideration, Ye Zhongming said to the logistics chief. Yashinan nodded and left.

Ye Zhongming soon found the two Star-Eye clan leaders and told them about this matter.

”What do you plan to do?”

The two clan leaders now trusted Ye Zhongming greatly. Basically, as long as he didnʼt betray the clan, he could do whatever he wanted.

”I plan to... teach them a little lesson.”

Then the Cloud Peak King began slowly describing some revenge methods he thought of. Upon hearing them, the two clan leaders showed surprise.

”You call this... a little lesson?”

………………………………………………

There were several mature commercial districts in Darkstrip City. One called Remoteview Street was the most famous grain and agricultural products trading market.

Recently, people noticed something strange: the number of people buying Blue Millet increased. Almost every day, Blue Millet in the market would quickly be snapped up.

Whether large or small merchants, it was the same.

Because there were too many races among the Cosmic Races, dietary habits naturally differed. Some races ate meat, some ate vegetables, some ate fruits, some ate grass or insects.

So in this commercial district of Darkstrip City, the variety of grains was vast. Although many races could eat Blue Millet, its biggest consumers were the Huaitang Clan.

This was their staple food and the primary source of certain nutrients in their bodies.

At first, the Huaitang Clan didnʼt pay much attention to this matter. After all, Blue Millet wasnʼt something only their race could eat.

But gradually, they found it abnormal because this situation had lasted almost ten cosmic days. Huaitang Clan members going to the commercial district to buy rice couldnʼt get any for many consecutive days.

The dissatisfaction among clan members grew, drawing the attention of the Huaitang Clanʼs top leadership.

At this point, they still didnʼt realize someone was specifically targeting them. They just sent a few people with some weight in the city to major merchants to discuss pre-ordering Blue Millet.

If daily grain were bought out, theyʼd intercept it at the source.

But the answers they received surprised them.

All merchants in Darkstrip City with channels to purchase Blue Millet had their goodsʼ orders scheduled for a month later. That is to say, the Blue Millet they could bring in during this period was all pre-ordered. The selling price was twenty percent above market price, with strict trade contracts signed, making it impossible to sell Blue Millet to others.

Among these major merchants, only a small part were from the Eight Head families; most were agents of other major clans. The Huaitang Clan couldnʼt afford to offend them either, so they could only return to the clan frustrated to report.

Only then did the Huaitang Clan confirm that someone was targeting them.

”This method is a bit stupid. Just a month; do they want to starve us to death?” The Huaitang Clan leader sat in his seat, looking down at the core members, and said.

”How long can our clanʼs reserves last normally?” he asked again.

”Under normal consumption, half a month is no problem,” the person in charge of logistics said.

The clan leader nodded. ”Then, find members with surplus grain, have them sell the surplus to the clan first. When everyone is almost out of food, the clan will restrict supply, trying to hold out as long as possible to get through this difficulty. Our own landʼs harvest is imminent; grain will come in soon.”

At this moment, the terminals of the clan leader and many high-ranking clan members suddenly rang.
