Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2079: Technology from above

The eggshell shattered.

Along with it, shattered were Yangosʼs dragon horns and all the scales on its body.

For this last strike, Yangos truly gave its all.

The evil dragon had now figured it out: if they couldnʼt get out, not only would Xia Lei and Talking Lady and the others die, but it would certainly be finished too. It also understood the appetite of these green-skinned monsters.

So this last strike was Yangos fighting with its formidable dragon body.

Fortunately, it succeeded.

The gray substance disappeared, and the entire battlefield fell silent for a moment!

”No matter the outcome, kill all these parasites around here, damn it!”

Guangyao roared in the Battle Contribution Badge. He shouted like this because he was afraid of losing everything—if Xia Lei was already dead, he needed to avoid a total collapse. The number of parasites was similar to that of human evolved beings. Once the collapse happened, it would be a massacre. The majority of Cloud Peakʼs strength was here. Once the worst-case scenario occurred, Cloud Peak would basically fall from the clouds, its strength reduced to no more than that of a first-rate force. In that case, the entire country would instantly unite and devour Cloud Peak.

If Xia Lei died, but they killed all the parasites here, Cloud Peak might still be able to regroup. As long as they held on until Ye Zhongming returned, everything would turn for the better.
”If Xia Lei is still alive, that is our mission.”

”If Xia Lei has sacrificed, then we avenge her.”

Guangyaoʼs voice continued, conveying a kind of faith to everyone, letting them feel at ease.

But suddenly, deafening shouts erupted from the command center area. Cloud Peakʼs air force, almost all of them, dived frantically towards one direction. The Cloud Peak cavalry teams that had reached the vicinity and were already in chaotic combat also opened a path after Little Tiger used almost his full strength in one strike, picking up speed to charge.

Guangyao immediately realized something.

”Xia Lei is fine; wipe out these dirty things!”

This sentence was more effective than all the previous ones. The entire Cloud Peakʼs spirits lifted, and their combat power seemed to have become a bit stronger.

”Fortunately, didnʼt die.”

Xia Leiʼs voice sounded in the Battle Contribution Badge. The entire Cloud Peakʼs warriors let out deafening cheers.

At this moment, Deacon Tong stood beside Xia Lei, smoke curling around his fingertips. He seemed to be casually drawing, and the smoke rippled around him, expanding circle after circle. Any green-skinned monsters that touched this smoke ring were all flung back, with the contacted parts mangled and bloody.

Before top-tier life forms, non-top-tier life forms fell short by far too much.

The moment the eggshell broke, Deacon Tong used his ability to reach Xia Leiʼs side. At that time, Cloud Peakʼs Black-Hearted Queenʼs weapons had already been knocked away, and she could only rely on her fists to hold on. The top-tier life forms around who werenʼt unconscious were also holding on by relying on their bodies. Even though occasional counterattacks could kill many green-skinned monsters, they were still on the verge of being overwhelmed.

Deacon Tong arrived and saved them.

Little Tiger also detached from the team a few seconds later, riding his level-eight war pet to the vicinity.

The protection of two top-tier life forms and the arrival of many Cloud Peak sky riders around them completely turned the danger into safety for Xia Lei and the others.

Unless some miracle occurred—like a powerful life form instantly killing two nine-star evolved beings—there basically wouldnʼt be any reversal in the plot.

Xia Leiʼs survival settled the hearts of the entire Cloud Peak system. Guangyao also didnʼt need to invest all resources into the rescue operation anymore. He began assigning tasks continuously, stabilizing the situation, rescuing the magic crystal cannon positions, etc.

Although Xia Lei was safe, she couldnʼt temporarily take over the command task.

At this time, Cloud Peakʼs advantage of having many top-tier life forms began to show gradually.

Although now Talking Lady and the black cat, Yellow Ball, Yangos, Red Hair, and the Undead Dragonfish, and Zhao Xiangxue were all unable to participate in combat, after all, there were still Liang Chuyin, Mo Ye, Deacon Tong, Little Tiger, and the Death King Tree—five top-tier life forms. As for the parasites, except for the still-unseen green-skinned monster leader, there were no top-tier existences left.

So the battle began tilting towards Cloud Peak, and the tilt became increasingly pronounced. In the end, the only green-skinned monsters outside the city that could still hinder Cloud Peak began disengaging from the battlefield, completely declaring the end of this battle.

Of course, the killing wouldnʼt stop. The scattering fleeing parasites would be continuously hunted down by Cloud Peakʼs warriors until they were completely eliminated or thoroughly escaped.

”Didnʼt find it?”

After taking some medicine and resting for a day and night, Xia Lei basically recovered. Her injuries werenʼt severe; this time was enough.

The green-skinned monsters disengaged from the battlefield. Knowing the special existence with three tails might be hidden among them, Cloud Peak pursued them relentlessly. Little Tiger and Mo Ye each led their own teams to pursue by air and land.

But after over two days, Little Tiger and Mo Ye returned and said they lost track, which surprised Xia Lei, who stayed here to supervise the battlefield cleanup.

Cloud Peakʼs cavalryʼs mobility was second only to Cloud Peakʼs air force. They also had help from Cloud Peakʼs air force reconnaissance department, yet they still lost track.

”We chased for a day and night. On the second day, they entered a swamp shrouded in thick mist. When we caught up, they left fifty thousand green-skinned monsters as a rearguard. After dealing with these guys, we couldnʼt find the main force. There were no traces of them on the other side of the swamp, and there was nothing in the swamp either; it was as if they disappeared into thin air.”

Little Tiger said with a frown. He was very unwilling to complete the mission. Seeing the miserable state of Yangos, Yellow Ball, and other top-tier life forms, he really wanted to take care of that leader hiding behind the scenes personally. Unfortunately, it still got away by some unknown method.

”How many escaped?”

When these green-skinned monsters retreated, there were about three hundred thousand in number.

”Should be only about one hundred thousand left.” Moye thought for a moment and replied.

Xia Lei lowered her head in thought. ”Rest first. Since they escaped, let them escape. After resting for half a day, your teams should also join the pursuit... Having too many teams that donʼt belong to Cloud Peak is troublesome. The current situation is a bit chaotic; they chase without any plan, and some teams even suffered heavy losses from counterattacks.”

From the start of this battle until now, nearly four days had passed, but the pursuit was still ongoing. Those teams not belonging to Cloud Peak, after seeing the victory, were like they were on stimulants, relentlessly chasing the fleeing parasites. Xia Lei and Guangyao could only have most Cloud Peak teams stay to clean up the battlefield, letting some with better mobility provide intelligence and support to these external teams.

But there were still many situations of being counterattacked and suffering losses.

Little Tiger and Moye nodded after hearing this and left Xia Leiʼs tent.

Another three days passed, and the pursuit basically ended. A post-battle report was delivered to Xia Lei.
