Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2077: Potato and mashed potatoʼs love

Normally, Xia Lei chatted with Yangos. After all, among evolved, not many could have a few words with the evil dragon without being torn to shreds. Liu Zhenghong was one, and Xia Lei was another.

However, even when Xia Lei spoke with Yangos, she made it stay far away or had its mouth facing the sky.

There was no choice; this guyʼs mouth not only spoke foully, but its breath was also foul.

But at this moment, even though Yangos had opened its mouth not far behind Xia Lei, Xia Lei wasnʼt the least bit angry. Instead, a surge of joy rose from within her heart.

”Long Wings, if you canʼt perform today, weʼre all going to die here.”

Xia Lei said this, and her body even relaxed a little.

”Perform what?” Yangos asked, then saw the endless green-skinned monsters ahead.

”Oh, can we escape?”

This was more in line with Yangosʼs character.

But Xia Lei wasnʼt angry. She shook her head and said, ”See that layer of gray stuff around us? As long as this thing isnʼt broken, we canʼt get out.”
Yangos, unusually, wasnʼt noisy this time. Instead, it looked thoughtfully at the layer of stuff that separated them from the world.

If everything was as Xia Lei said, then Yangos felt it was time to make some decisions.

…………………………………………………………

The Cloud Peak forces outside did want to assist, but they encountered strong resistance.

The green-skinned monstersʼ ambush and surprise attack on Cloud Peak wasnʼt just aimed at the command center; they also made many corresponding arrangements to ensure the success of this sneak attack.

First, regarding numbers, Cloud Peakʼs estimate was incorrect. The actual number of parasites wasnʼt just 5.5 million; it was over 6 million. Of the hidden less than two million, one million green-skinned monsters went with the main force to attack Cloud Peakʼs command center, and another five hundred thousand landed on the ground in the same way, rushing to the front of the command center to block those coming to aid.

A force of five hundred thousand wouldnʼt have been a big deal for Cloud Peak when their military was at its peak, but now, just by standing in front of that mass of gray substance, they could break the morale of Cloud Peakʼs reinforcements.

Every second of delay meant another second of threat to the lives of the Cloud Peak people isolated in the command center. Perhaps being five seconds late could lead to a completely different outcome.

After all, even counting the command center members, plus Talking Ladyʼs corpse group and some Cloud Peak fighters who happened to be here, the number wouldnʼt exceed one hundred thousand. The top-tier life forms were only a few. Facing a million enemies, many of which were certainly top-tier monsters, the time they could hold out wouldnʼt be too long.

Second, before this, what puzzled Cloud Peak people wasnʼt just the scarcity of top-tier life forms among so many parasites, but also that too few among them could fly. This was one reason Xia Lei and Guangyao felt there must be an ambush.

Previously, in the few encounters Cloud Peak had with the parasites, there were also a considerable number of flying parasites.

Now, when the surprise attack began, there was an answer to this. At least over two hundred thousand flying parasites appeared, intercepting Cloud Peakʼs air force, which should have been the first to arrive over the command center.

The two sides engaged in intense air combat right before that unknown mass of substance.

Since Ye Zhongming went to the Cosmic Races, the ones with whom Red Hair was closest in Cloud Peak were Xia Lei and Liang Chuyin.

Because of her complex relationship with Ye Zhongming, this miraculous life form naturally had innate goodwill towards Ye Zhongmingʼs women. Xia Lei and Liang Chuyin were: one a woman with high emotional intelligence who could absolutely become good friends with anyone she wanted to befriend, and one a straightforward woman who didnʼt treat Red Hair as an alien at all. If Red Hair wasnʼt close to them, who else could she be close to?

So when Xia Lei was trapped, Red Hair was extremely anxious.

This kind of emotion almost never surfaced in her body, leaving her both unfamiliar and panicked.

But none of this hindered Red Hairʼs determination to rescue Xia Lei.

Seeing the enemyʼs air force appear out of thin air before her, Red Hair directly transformed into her strongest form—the one with wings, holding a long spear, like a blood angel.

”Leave those two to me; the rest, to you.”

Transmitting such a signal to the Undead Dragonfish, Red Hair charged towards a top-tier flying life form. The long spear in her hand thrust out. Originally, there was at least twenty meters between it and the target, but the instant the spear stabbed, its phantom reached before this life formʼs eyes.

Among the two hundred thousand flying parasites, the number of top-tier life forms wasnʼt high. Red Hair only sensed three. One stayed outside the closed space created by the monsters, clearly guarding the final portal, while the other two were near Red Hair.

With one spear thrust, that flying monster was injured, a hole pierced in its body. But Red Hair flapped her wings, spinning in the air, inserting herself between the two top-tier flying parasites.

Her long red hair wildly spread out like a storm, instantly weaving a huge hair sphere around her, enveloping herself and the two top-tier parasites.

”Only the living have the right to walk out.”

Red Hair intended to deal with two life forms of the same level herself!

Outside, there werenʼt no other flying parasites trying to break this hair sphere, but their levels were too low. Not only did their attacks have little effect, but they also had to face Cloud Peakʼs air forceʼs fierce counterattack.

Also, donʼt forget, the Undead Dragonfish was also outside.

This undead life that had obtained part of the Nine-Winged Crowʼs inheritance was no longer a true undead; it was more like a semi-undead, semi-living being.

Feeling Red Hairʼs anxiety, the Undead Dragonfish, like its companion, went all out from the start.

Its body grew huge, suddenly standing upright at one point, its wings flapping forward, blowing out streams of light black fog. Any parasites that touched it all had their agility affected. Then the Undead Dragonfish opened its mouth wide and began continuously spitting cyan-green liquid left and right towards the front.

From a distance, it looked as if it was raining there.

The parasites that had just had their mobility affected were directly sprayed wet all over. The next moment, their flesh and blood began to wither. In their immobile panic, they felt their life slipping away.

Even more terrifying was that even when these life formsʼ flesh and blood dried up and became corpses, they wouldnʼt fall from the sky. Instead, they would hang in the air, their bodies surrounded by faint black fog.

This attack by the Undead Dragonfish lasted quite a while, a full minute. It turned all the parasites in large areas into dried corpses, numbering at least 15,000.

The Undead Dragonfish didnʼt stop because of this. Instead, after spraying the liquid, it let out a cry. Those flying parasite corpses hanging dully in the air immediately turned their bodies and started killing their normal kind.
