Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2083: Building a base

The meeting ended with this announcement.

At Cloud Peak, core members had the right to know, but when it came to actually doing so, they could only search for and purchase materials from the given list. The real technical issues had to be handled by Le Dayuan, Liu Zhenghong, and their respective laboratory members.

This time, Ye Zhongming imparted a great deal of knowledge. After learning that transmission consumed a large amount of Moonspan Gold, everyone valued these technologies even more.

The Cloud Peak King had just arrived in the cosmos, and his starting point was still very low, so he had many, many places needing money. Yet he used this hard-earned money to transmit these down. What reason did Cloud Peak people have not to cherish them?

So Liu Zhenghong and Le Dayuan, the couple, immediately set out to study these things. The former would work on refining Moonspan Gold, which was the foundation of all cosmic technology. The latter began a major overhaul of the laboratory and the recruitment of new members, even organizing large-scale project teams to study and absorb the knowledge Ye Zhongming had transmitted in segments.

This was also unavoidable. Earthʼs technology stagnated in the first few years of the post-apocalyptic era. Later, even though there was some development at Cloud Peak, it was also war-oriented; all technology served combat.

But these technologies and knowledge werenʼt like that. They were all things Earth didnʼt have, very profound, and some theories even had no continuation from Earth; they needed to be learned from the basics.

For evolved beings, the evolution of their bodies and brains made learning easier, yielding twice the result with half the effort. However, after all, there was too much knowledge they hadnʼt seen, hadnʼt thought of, or even couldnʼt understand temporarily, so ʼchewingʼ on it was bound to require great effort and a lot of time.

The difficulty wasnʼt just learning the knowledge. The ultimate goal of learning this theoretical knowledge was to turn it into results, which required experiments. And experiments also needed various tools, parts, vessels, etc., all of which needed to be resolved.

At first, Le Dayuan felt overwhelmed, until later, with more talented people joining and mastering some superficial knowledge, the situation improved somewhat. Although they couldnʼt even be considered beginners, at least there was a decent start.
During this period, the losses from the Mei City battle were gradually made up for. The occupation of the countryʼs territory began to show benefits at this time. Large quantities of materials, magic crystals, and other benefits continuously flowed into Cloud Peak. Cloud Peak also took the opportunity to instill its philosophy and way of doing things.

Even though Cloud Peak was a superpower, even the true number one in the country now, in many aspects, there were still limits.

But as the ruled area expanded and the incorporated population increased, Cloud Peakʼs previous limitations as a force began to blur or disappear. Or rather, these limits were expanding indefinitely, reaching a point that allowed worry-free development.

However, Xia Lei was still not satisfied with this. One month after the Mei City battle, when Cloud Peakʼs losses were initially recovered, she led her newly formed combat team, along with the recovered Yellow Ball, Yangos, and Cloud Peakʼs air force led by Talking Lady and the Undead Fish-Dragon, to launch a surprise attack on Resistance Zone G.

Originally, everyone had tacitly agreed to the current situation in the country: as long as Cloud Peak didnʼt move against Resistance Zone and Glory Army territories, there would be no conflict between them. Cloud Peak occupying the country was their own business.

Sometimes, the Resistance Zone and Glory Army would also send troops to occupy some places. Their actions werenʼt big; they were probably afraid of causing Cloud Peak Mountain Villaʼs backlash, but they also tasted benefits.

But who would have thought that the tacit armistice agreement would be so easily broken? Resistance Zone G had decent strength, but under the attack of four top-tier life forms and nearly two hundred thousand Cloud Peak warriors and warbeasts, it only held out for one day before collapsing.

Except for the leadership, Xia Lei adopted a strategy of no resistance, no death for other evolved. This left less blood on her hands, and Cloud Peak also suffered fewer losses.

Because of this, the other two zones of the Resistance Zone and the Glory Army came to inquire.

Xia Lei gave them different answers.

To the Glory Army: We wonʼt fight you.

To Resistance Zone C: Donʼt interfere.

To Resistance Zone T:... she gave them no reply at all.

Because half a month later, Cloud Peak, with Little Tigerʼs cavalry corps, Talking Lady and the Undead Dragonfishʼs air force corps, Liang Chuyinʼs combat team—totaling five hundred thousand Cloud Peak warriors and warbeasts—launched a strong attack on Resistance Zone T. Resistance Zone T held out for two days before finally being defeated.

Facing such a strong Cloud Peak, facing a Cloud Peak that everyone thought would first attack the coastal area, many people understood one thing.

Cloud Peak intended to clear out all non-Cloud Peak elements in the country except the Glory Army and Resistance Zone C before dealing with the troublesome sea creatures. It was about securing the interior before resisting external threats.

Regarding Xia Leiʼs actions, initially, many people had different views. After all, it was a message from Ye Zhongming from above, telling everyone not to conflict with the Resistance Zone and Glory Army. Now, this was clearly a violation, if not entirely, at least partially. How could they explain this to the Leader later?

But Xia Lei suppressed these voices. She understood very clearly: Ye Zhongming said Ji Ruiguang and Mu Hanyi helped him, so she wouldnʼt touch Ji Ruiguang and Mu Hanyiʼs subordinates. It was just that the Resistance Zone situation was special; she had no psychological burden taking out Zones T and G.

Even after such battles, two months after the Mei City battle, Cloud Peak not only made up for all previous losses but also advanced further.

Afterwards, having avenged previous enemies such as the Soul Merchant, etc., and having completed the comprehensive occupation of the country except for the Resistance Zone and the Glory Army, Cloud Peak Mountain Villa entered an era of great prosperity.

Facing the tide of sea creatures, Cloud Peak deployed troops. Cloud Peak alone sent over two million warriors, plus another three million from other peripheral combat teams.

Now, besides the main force warriors, all other forces that submitted to Cloud Peak were called Cloud Peak Mountain Villaʼs peripheral combat teams.

Besides these, there were also over one million warbeasts and as many as three hundred thousand gene warriors who also arrived at the Eastern Sea coastal area.

That is to say, in that area, over six million Cloud Peak system evolved life forms began stabilizing the defense zones, waiting for an opportunity to counterattack.
