The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 350: Chapter 350: No Man Can Serve Two Masters Without Failing Either

”Do you not like Carson Flores, don’t you want to marry him?”

Samantha Tate felt confused by Camille Rhodes; she clearly sensed that Camille Rhodes liked Carson Flores.

Just as Camille Rhodes had said, that sparkle in her eyes was something one could not easily hide!

Camille Rhodes whispered, ”I like him, but liking someone doesn’t necessarily mean possessing them or needing to marry them. You’ve been with Carson Flores for so long. Ask yourself, is he the kind of man who would be content to lock himself at home and live a nine-to-five life?”

Samantha Tate shook her head, ”He has said, he is not.”

”Isn’t that settled then?”

Camille Rhodes giggled, ”I asked to speak with you alone partly to comfort you, but also to curry favor. In the future, no matter if it’s Shirley Miller or if you win and marry him, let’s not make things difficult for each other. I just want to date; I haven’t thought about marrying Carson Flores or stealing him from anyone... ”

Samantha Tate’s expression was odd; she never would have guessed that Camille Rhodes’s initiative to say these things today was simply to lay the groundwork!

Her words were too clear!

It didn’t matter to her whether Shirley Miller or Samantha Tate married Carson Flores in the end, as long as they didn’t mind her relationship with him!

Samantha Tate was at a loss whether to laugh or cry, ”You should be saying these things to my sister, don’t you think it’s a bit too early to be saying them to me?”

Camille Rhodes answered with a smile, ”It’s not too early, not too early at all. Don’t be fooled by Carson Flores telling others I’m his woman, and sure, we’ve slept together many times, but in his heart, I rank far below you two.”

Having heard this from Camille Rhodes, Samantha Tate couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.

”Miss Rhodes is a distinguished young lady from a prominent family, classy and full of feminine charm...”

Camille Rhodes hugged Samantha Tate and chuckled, ”Considering Carson Flores’s strength and character, do you think he cares about those things? He’s now a Great Grandmaster. To him, what is the Rhodes Family? At over twenty years old, being a Great Grandmaster, he’s a perfect match for any woman from numerous prestigious circles in the world of cultivation, no matter how noble...”

After speaking with Camille Rhodes, Samantha Tate subconsciously felt much more favorably towards her.

After all, Samantha Tate was not Carson Flores’s wife, so her perspective on things inevitably differed from that of a typical husband’s wife. Camille Rhodes supported her in every way, praised her, and even placed herself below her—how could Samantha Tate not feel kindly towards her?

”You also know my sister, what should I do in this situation?”

Camille Rhodes said with a light laugh, ”What’s your relationship with your sister like?”

”Close as sisters.”

Camille Rhodes smiled, ”As far as I know, Carson Flores and your sister have a marriage of convenience, but after having weathered many storms together, they’ve developed feelings, and Carson Flores is finding it hard to let go...”

A touch of sadness appeared in Samantha Tate’s eyes; Camille Rhodes’s words echoed what she too had sensed—even Carson Flores had hinted at such recently.

Carson Flores had mentioned that his relationship with his wife had changed...

Samantha Tate murmured quietly, ”Does that mean I’m the only one who should leave?”

Camille Rhodes’s reply was cheerful, ”There are a few possibilities right now. First, Shirley Miller must have no idea about you and Carson Flores. If you leave quietly, it’s very likely Carson Flores and Shirley will not divorce and will continue living together for a lifetime...”

”Second, if you cannot let go and bear to be without Carson Flores, you take the initiative to approach Shirley and explain your feelings for Carson Flores to her. From what I know of her, no matter how much Shirley may be unwilling to let go of Carson Flores in her heart, she will definitely cleanly and decisively divorce him to make way for you and Carson.”

Samantha Tate was silent; she too understood Shirley Miller.

If she really did that, Shirley Miller would definitely make way for her!

Even if Shirley cried a storm in her heart, she would certainly smile as softly as a spring breeze on the surface, wishing her and Carson Flores happiness!

That was the kind of person she was!

Camille Rhodes observed Samantha Tate’s reaction, noticing that there was no hint of joy in Samantha’s eyes, but rather a surge of sorrow, and Camille laughed.

”You can’t bear to leave, yet you can’t bring yourself to ask your sister to leave; is that it?”

Samantha Tate looked up into Camille Rhodes’s smiling face, suddenly feeling a glimmer of hope, ”Do you mean to say you have a way that is best of both worlds?”

Camille Rhodes shook her head, ”How can there be a method that spares both the Buddha and the sentient being? Carson Flores is only one person; he can’t be split in half for each of you...”

Samantha Tate felt a chill in her heart and forced a bitter smile, ”Yes, a person is only one; they can’t be split in half.”

Yet, Camille Rhodes suddenly chuckled softly, ”A person can’t be split in half, but the human heart can. Does Carson Flores like you? Does he like me? Does he like Shirley? Are these affections fake?”

False affection?

Of course not!

It’s precisely because these feelings are real that Carson Flores is conflicted and distressed.

Samantha Tate watched Camille Rhodes’s smirking expression, paused for a moment, and then suddenly came to a realization.

She understood what Camille Rhodes meant!

Samantha Tate stared intently at Camille Rhodes, ”Are you suggesting that I do as you do?”
