The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Are You Back to Seek Death?_1

”Carson Flores and the Acevedo Family have issues too?”

Ibrahim Harrison’s first thought was, if they all have issues with him, then aren’t we naturally friends?

Isn’t forming an alliance the obvious choice?

Jayson Acevedo seemed to guess Ibrahim’s thoughts and didn’t want him to misunderstand any further, explaining directly: ”The other day, Carson Flores joined forces with the Martinez Family, the Firzgerald Family, and the Johnston Family to lay siege to the Miller Family during their Mid-Autumn ancestral worship. Our Acevedo Family’s elder was invited by the Miller Family as an observer, and naturally had to step in to help.”

”The old man made a move to kill Carson Flores, the organizer, but just then, Carson had a breakthrough on the battlefield, advancing from Grandmaster to Great Grandmaster. He withstood several attacks without dying. Then, Shirley Miller brought the Great Grandmaster Derek Eaton over, and they stopped the old man from continuing, leading to our unsuccessful attempt. Left without a choice, the elder had to return, and the Miller Family was wiped out.”

”Now, Carson must hate the Acevedo Family to the core, so it’s not that we don’t want to help you, but that we simply have no way to do so. You’ll have to think of another solution.”

Ibrahim’s eyes widened with shock: ”The Miller Family is gone?”

Jayson gave a hum of confirmation: ”Yes, completely annihilated, the cultivation world no longer has the Miller Family.”

Ibrahim gasped, feeling a chill run down his spine.

This is just too ruthless!

The Miller Family was wiped out just like that, even when Carson was still only a Grandmaster. And now that he has become a Great Grandmaster, wouldn’t destroying the Harrison Family be like flipping his hand?

Ibrahim hung up the phone, his face ashen. Turning his head, he saw that Edgar Harrison looked utterly soulless, as if he had lost his spirit.

The two sat in silence for a moment before Edgar stood up and sighed, ”I’ll go see him.”

Ibrahim grabbed him, ”What if he wants to kill you? What then?”

Edgar shook his head: ”If he wants to kill, then let him kill. This issue started with me and should end with me. It’s the trouble I brought upon us, and I can’t let the whole Harrison Family pay for it.”

Ibrahim clenched his teeth: ”How about I go with you, try talking to him again?”

Edgar firmly rejected the offer: ”Don’t go. And don’t try to get anyone else involved either. This guy is ruthless. If I submit completely, there might be a slim chance of survival. But if you try to negotiate, you might not be able to leave either...”

”Submit?”

Ibrahim looked at Edgar worriedly: ”Become his underling?”

Edgar said with self-mockery: ”If I want to live, I’ll have to obey whatever he says. Being called an underling is fine, as a dog too. To survive, I need to let go of my pride and dignity. I’ve already knelt before, so what does it matter if I do it a few more times? Besides, he’s a Great Grandmaster, so it’s not shameful to think about it.”

Ibrahim was out of options, who asked for Carson Flores to be a Great Grandmaster?

Who asked for Edgar to have provoked him, even going as far as to kidnap and threaten his life?

”You’re afflicted with the Three Yin Vein Severing Hand, and there’s no other way out. Go then, no matter what, it’s better to preserve life than to risk extinction for pride. What’s a bit of humiliation? It’s good to be alive. Even if there’s a grudge, a desire for vengeance, it’s necessary to be alive to act on it.”

Edgar lit up a cigarette, taking a deep drag: ”I know. I’m leaving.”

Vengeance?

How old was he?

The entire clan didn’t have a single Great Grandmaster, and Carson Flores had become one at such a young age, moreover, through a mid-battle breakthrough – such a miraculous thing. What about the future?

Even if he lived long enough to become a Great Grandmaster, Carson would probably already be an Innate Grandmaster by then, and could still crush him with a single finger.

In the end, wasn’t it just that he was too arrogant and deserved this calamity?

Time to accept fate!

Edgar stepped outside, finished his cigarette in one go, threw down the butt, got into his car, and the vehicle roared off.

...

The courtyard had been cleared of corpses, and Brendan Stein was still cautiously standing at the doorway, not daring to leave, like a sentry on watch.

Carson sat in a chair, holding a freshly brewed cup of tea, and checked the time: ”It’s been so long, do you think your boss has run away?”

Brendan thought to himself, how would I know, not just him, I also want to flee now but just don’t dare to.

”I don’t think so, didn’t he get hit by Mr. Flores’s Three Yin Vein Severing Hand?”

Carson smiled: ”Who knows, he might have found someone to cure it. Although it’s a bit troublesome, it’s not impossible to cure, as long as he finds a Grandmaster-level Physician, there’s still a chance.”

Brendan dared not join the conversation and could only offer an awkward smile.

Shirley Miller sat on the balcony and looked out, asking: ”Should I call Santino Vasquez for you?”

”No need.”

Carson smiled: ”If he couldn’t catch Santino Vasquez, then you definitely won’t be able to find him either.”

As they were speaking, the roaring of a motorcycle’s engine drew closer, finally stopping outside the courtyard.

With empty hands, Edgar entered the door, staring calmly at Carson: ”I’ve failed.”

Carson raised his eyebrows: ”Does he have a master by his side?”

Edgar shook his head: ”I called to bluff him, said I had you two taken care of and would deliver you to him. He gave me an address, claiming he’d wait there. When I arrived, I entered the house to find no one there. I tried calling again, but his phone was off. He probably suspected something when I had called earlier to inquire about you before coming here, so he took precautions...”

Carson stared at Edgar: ”So you’ve come back to die?”
