The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Just Pretend I’m Clinging to Your Coattails_1

Carson Flores watched Derek Eaton’s retreating figure disappear into the darkness with a puzzled expression.

”Who is this old gentleman? I haven’t even thanked him yet, and he just left like that...”

Shirley Miller replied, ”I only know his name is Derek Eaton; he is a Great Grandmaster. My grandfather invited him as a helper, saying that he offered his assistance in exchange for a favor. However, he had sworn an oath in his early years not to act against the Miller Family, which is why we couldn’t directly ask for his help to deal with the Miller Family before.”

Carson Flores suddenly understood, ”Today was really mysterious. If it weren’t for him, I probably would have died here. I owe you one as well, this favor of yours saved my life.”

Shirley Miller shook her head, ”If you hadn’t been helping me, you could have found a chance to deal with Peter Miller alone, without having to go through all this trouble.”

Carson Flores said with casual laugh, ”Alright, we are husband and wife after all, so I won’t be a stranger.”

Shirley Miller’s cheeks turned slightly red, ”We shouldn’t be strangers in the first place. Haven’t you helped me enough times already?”

”Hang on a second.”

Carson Flores walked over to Lydia Howell, who was standing by the side, ”How are your injuries?”

Lydia Howell looked at Carson Flores, her eyes filled with undisguised admiration, ”It’s nothing serious. A few days of rest should be sufficient.”

Carson Flores scolded, ”I told you to run, and you didn’t. Why risk your life like that? You nearly lost it.”

Lydia Howell smiled slightly, ”Actually, I was already prepared to repay you with my life at that moment. Who knew that things would take such a turn, and that my life would be spared.”

Carson Flores sighed, ”Helping you advance to Grandmaster was to have you assist me against the Miller Family. Now that the Miller Family is finished, you don’t owe me anything. After you’ve recovered, you can return to Polgel.”

Lydia Howell shook her head, glancing at Shirley Miller not far away, ”Oscar Miller is still at large, and Miss Miller is just an ordinary person. You can’t guard her 24 hours a day. For the time being, I’ll continue to be her personal bodyguard. Miss Miller is a good person, and I don’t want anything to happen to her.”

Lydia Howell frowned, ”That’s true, but as a Grandmaster, you can’t always be a bodyguard, right?”

”You’re a Great Grandmaster yourself.”

Lydia Howell said with a smile, ”Think of me as clinging to your coattails. I’ll help you with some small matters. Who knows, perhaps one day when you’re in a good mood, you might help me achieve a breakthrough to Great Grandmaster as well. I’ve heard that aside from being stronger and living longer, a Great Grandmaster can also maintain eternal youth and will not age. The sooner the breakthrough, the younger one’s appearance will remain...”

Carson Flores laughed, ”I don’t have such ability, you’re thinking too much.”

Lydia Howell chuckled, ”Let me dream a little. I’m already in my thirties, and I’ll soon fade. With my talent, it was nearly impossible for me to step into Grandmaster level, but you easily brought me into it. Whether I’m repaying a debt of gratitude or just riding on your coattails, either way, I’m not leaving.”

Carson Flores was amused by Lydia Howell’s words, ”You, a Grandmaster, are so eager to be someone’s bodyguard; doesn’t it bother you?”

Lydia Howell laughed, ”Miss Miller is nice, and has been good to me. She has never treated me like an employee, but as a friend. What’s wrong with protecting her? It’s quite enjoyable, and there’s nothing bothersome about it. In Seashore, it’s much more interesting than Polgel, which is such a small place that I’m already sick of it.”

”Moreover, based on what I know about you, Seashore is probably not your final destination in life. Following you, I expect to encounter a broader world, which I’m looking forward to.”

Since Lydia Howell had put it that way, Carson Flores naturally wouldn’t send her away, especially since Lydia Howell, a Grandmaster, was willingly staying to protect Shirley Miller, and that was indeed a good thing.

”Fine, if you want to stay then stay. But let me be clear beforehand, you owe me nothing now. You are free to do as you please, to stay or leave.”

Lydia Howell nodded in agreement, ”Alright!”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Then let’s head back together. I’ll drive you today.”

Lydia Howell said with a smile, ”A Great Grandmaster as a driver, that’s an extraordinary treat.”

The three of them joined together and headed out. Shirley Miller looked back and asked, ”What about the people you brought with you?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”They came to help me fight; once the fight was over, of course they left. Later, I’ll give them some money to show my gratitude.”

Shirley Miller added, ”Uh-huh,” ”What about the rest? Aren’t you going to take care of the rest?”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”Fighting is what I’m good at; I’m not so good at other things. They have experience and will handle everything. Now that I’m a Great Grandmaster, they can’t and wouldn’t dare to cross me. They are still counting on me to help them against the Acevedo Family, so you can rest assured.”

Shirley Miller nodded without another word and silently followed Carson Flores out of the Miller Family Ancestral Home.

Carson Flores drove the car, and the three of them returned to the hotel.

Carson Flores checked on Lydia Howell; fortunately, her internal injuries were not too serious, and resting peacefully for about a week should suffice.

After treating Lydia Howell’s injuries with his Inner Qi, Carson Flores and Shirley Miller returned to his room.

”What information have you managed to gather?”

Carson Flores didn’t hide anything and shared all the information he had gathered.

Shirley Miller said joyfully, ”Even though we still can’t be sure of their fate, it’s at least a piece of good news, isn’t it?”
