The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 349: Chapter 349: Why Should I Take Over?_1

”What’s going on with my sister and you now?”

Samantha Tate felt confused and at a loss.

Step back?

I can’t bear it!

Forge ahead?

That seems a bit awkward, especially since that’s my sister, and they have a very good relationship!

Carson Flores answered frankly, ”I can’t say for sure because there is still a little time before the three-month period is up, so we haven’t had a formal discussion about this.”

Samantha Tate frowned and said, ”You said she went out on business, right? When is she coming back?”

Carson Flores shook his head and repeated the conversation he had when Derek Eaton took Shirley Miller away.

”Originally, I wanted to resolve this matter myself so you wouldn’t have to face this embarrassing situation. But given today’s environment and Camille’s appearance, I thought it better to tell you, especially since she might be out of contact for several months.”

Samantha Tate fell silent.

Any other woman in Samantha Tate’s place would have strived for her own happiness and shown no weakness, but that person was Shirley Miller, her close cousin!

Camille Rhodes propped her chin with one hand, looking around with a mixture of interest and amusement.

”Miss,”

Samantha Tate looked up, ”Just call me Yuyue or Xiao Xi.”

Camille Rhodes chuckled, ”I’ll leave Yuyue for your brother to call you; I’ll call you Xiao Xi then.”

Samantha Tate nodded slightly; her mind was a bit of a mess. She didn’t know what Camille Rhodes suddenly wanted to talk about, but she maintained her composure and showed no hostility.

Camille Rhodes was right; she wasn’t an enemy, and subconsciously, Samantha Tate didn’t want to put Carson Flores in a difficult position between them.

Camille Rhodes asked with a smile, ”Can I have a word with you alone?”

Samantha Tate looked at Carson Flores with a puzzled expression and saw that he was also confused. After hesitating, she nodded and said, ”Sure!”

Carson Flores frowned and asked, ”What do you want to talk about?”

Camille Rhodes stood up, walked behind Carson Flores, and gently pressed his shoulders. She leaned down to his ear and whispered, ”Don’t worry, I’m on your side, and I will only help you.”

Carson Flores turned to look at Camille Rhodes, who gave him a reassuring glance, then turned and walked toward the stern of the boat.

”No eavesdropping, okay?”

Samantha Tate pursed her lips and followed Camille Rhodes to the rear of the boat, where they leaned against the railing, enjoying the sea breeze.

Samantha Tate turned to Camille Rhodes, ”What do you want to talk to me about?”

Camille Rhodes chuckled, ”You haven’t slept with Carson Flores yet, have you?”

Samantha Tate’s face turned slightly red, but she knew Camille Rhodes wasn’t asking just to provoke or mock her, so she honestly shook her head, ”I’ve thought about it, but he’s always dodging. I didn’t understand before, but today I finally realized; he’s avoiding my sister.”

Camille Rhodes pursed her lips and smiled, ”Carson Flores is a real man. If I hadn’t drugged him, we’d probably still just be friends now.”

A twinge of envy arose in Samantha Tate’s heart. Maybe if she had done the same, she wouldn’t have to be so troubled now.

”It was a fluke. I met him in a bar before, wanted to play him, but he turned the tables on me instead; kissed me and even got a little handsy. Unwilling to accept that, I invited him again, with two technicians from my company to do a massage, and I slipped something into his tea. My plan was to have the technicians sleep with him so I could catch it on video and mock him...”

Samantha Tate listened to Camille Rhodes recount these private matters and couldn’t help but widen her eyes, ”Then what happened?”

Camille Rhodes wrapped an arm around Samantha Tate’s shoulder, leaning closer to her ear, and whispered, ”He refused to be played by me. Like a raging bull, he broke through several walls, crossed numerous rooms, and then caught me, who was spying on him. Well, you can guess the rest; I didn’t get any sleep that night...”

Samantha Tate had a strange expression on her face, unsure whether to laugh at or envy the situation.

Camille Rhodes chuckled softly, ”Mary must know about my thing with Carson Flores, but she didn’t say a word.”

Samantha Tate abruptly looked up, her eyes suddenly alight with understanding.

She was a smart woman; she naturally grasped the significance behind this issue.

”She knows you and Carson Flores slept together?”

Camille Rhodes spoke in a low voice, ”She didn’t say it outright, but you know, women are sensitive to these things. We three even had dinner together; she couldn’t have been oblivious. Moreover, I afterward I roped Carson Flores into pretending to be my boyfriend, I was actually trying to use him as a shield. It turned out that the man was Mary’s college classmate and also an admirer of hers, and he knew Carson Flores was Shirley Miller’s husband...”

Samantha Tate’s eyes widened; it seemed like concrete proof if their drinking together without clearing the air wasn’t enough already.

”What did she say?”

Camille Rhodes pursed her lips and smiled, ”I asked Carson Flores; he said she hasn’t mentioned anything about it. Why do you think that is?”

Samantha Tate frowned, looking at Camille Rhodes with a bit more wariness, ”What’s the deal, are you trying so hard because you want to take her place?”

Camille Rhodes laughed softly, ”You’ve got it all wrong; why would I want to take her place?”
