The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 311: Chapter 311 Hunter and Trap_1

As dusk fell, a full moon hung in the sky.

The Miller Family Ancestral Home was located in the suburbs of Seashore City, a vast estate. Usually, only a fraction of the people guarding the ancestral home lived there, but every Mid-Autumn Festival, the Millers would hold a grand ancestral worship ceremony, which was always a lively event.

In addition to the direct descendants of the Miller Family who were cultivators, all the cultivators nurtured by the Millers participated. Although they did not join in kneeling and worshipping, they watched the entire process. The concurrent display of the Miller’s strength served to deter these non-Miller cultivators and increase their loyalty.

Knox Miller looked at the bustling scene outside and asked, ”Has the old man from the Acevedo Family arrived?”

”He’ll be here soon.”

Knox Miller breathed a sigh of relief, ”Good. Bring the old man in secretly, and make sure no one sees him.”

”Yes!”

Oscar Miller, who stood by Knox Miller’s side, asked in confusion, ”Dad, why do you seem a bit nervous?”

Knox Miller spoke in a low voice, ”If Carson Flores wants to utterly defeat our family, today would be the best opportunity. All of us are gathered here; it’s perfect to net us all in one fell swoop!”

Oscar Miller’s eyes widened in shock, ”Although Carson Flores is a Grandmaster, he wouldn’t be so brazen. Including his companion, they’re only two Grandmasters. If he dares to come here, isn’t that akin to delivering himself to us?”

Knox Miller sneered, ”What if the Fitzgerald Family has teamed up with Carson Flores?”

Oscar Miller disbelieved, ”Even with them, they couldn’t possibly annihilate us.”

Knox Miller said gravely, ”Who knows if they have other helpers? Carson Flores’ master, Andrew, has quite a few friends.”

Oscar Miller asked in surprise, ”If that’s true, then why would we give them such an opportunity?”

Knox Miller sneered, ”If the Acevedo Family Ancestor hadn’t agreed to come, I might have cancelled this gathering or moved it to the city. But now that he has come, I actually hope they strike!”

Oscar Miller realized and his eyes showed admiration, ”So, this is a trap?”

Knox Miller nodded, ”Yes, as long as the Acevedo Family Ancestor isn’t seen by anyone, if they are indeed prepared, they will definitely make a move. With the presence of the Acevedo Family Ancestor, we can once and for all solve all our problems!”

Oscar Miller still looked somewhat worried, ”But if many Grandmasters come, and there’s only one Acevedo Family Ancestor, what if...”

Knox Miller shook his head, his eyes carrying a bit of wistful longing, ”Grandmasters are surely formidable, but before a Great Grandmaster, they’re like children compared to adults. Even if a group of Grandmasters were to come, one Great Grandmaster would be enough to settle it. That is precisely why the Acevedo Family securely occupies the position of the number one family in Seashore.”

After a pause, Knox Miller’s tone held a touch of regret, ”Your great-grandfather has reached the Master Peak, a mere step away from Great Grandmaster. But even this single step is as vast as the difference between heaven and earth. If your great-grandfather could step across that threshold, our Miller Family could immediately join the ranks of the Top Four Families and be equals with the Acevedo Family.”

Oscar Miller no longer felt any worry, ”In that case, I also hope they come. I really want to see the dumbfounded look on their faces when that time comes.”

Knox Miller sneered, ”If he dares to come, then he’s as good as dead!”

At that moment, someone came in to report, ”The old Mr. Acevedo has arrived and has been directly taken to the back yard.”

Knox Miller nodded, ”Okay, I’ll go meet him first. Are all the people ready outside?”

”Everyone has arrived.”

Knox Miller checked his watch, ”Then I’ll go see Mr. Acevedo. Make sure everything is prepared outside; we’ll begin the ancestral worship ceremony at eight o’clock sharp!”

”All right!”

Knox Miller went to the backyard, where an old man with a ruddy complexion and silver hair was sitting and chatting with Peter Miller, the Miller Family Ancestor, looking relaxed and smiling.

Walking over, Knox Miller bowed respectfully, ”Mr. Acevedo, greetings!”

Nash Acedvedo smiled faintly, ”Greetings, today is your big day. As the Family Head, you have many things to attend to; you don’t need to make the effort to come here.”

Knox Miller smiled, ”Mr. Acevedo is an elder, and as a junior, it’s natural for me to come and pay respects. Moreover, should there be any unexpected occurrences today, we would need Mr. Acevedo’s support.”

Nash Acedvedo nodded, ”Your grandfather has already spoken to me. Now that I’m here, you can rest assured. If they really come, I will take action. However, I must make some things clear beforehand.”

Knox Miller smiled, ”Please speak, Mr. Acevedo.”

Nash Acedvedo said with a smile, ”I will only help you against Carson Flores and his people. If other families from Seashore get involved, since we all need to coexist, as long as they agree to stop, I won’t take action against them. It’s always good to leave room for relationships.”

Knox Miller understood instantly; Nash Acedvedo meant that if Carson Flores allied with other local forces, like the Fitzgerald Family, he would make the Fitzgerald Family cease their hostility towards the Millers, and as long as they stopped, he would not take action against them, as that would create unnecessary enemies for the Acevedos.

”Of course, Mr. Acevedo only needs to deal with Carson Flores, that female Grandmaster by his side, and any non-Seashore native experts he has invited.”

Nash Acedvedo nodded, ”Alright!”

Knox Miller breathed a sigh of relief and looking at the time, he smiled, ”It’s almost time. Mr. Acevedo, please sit here for a while, I’ll go prepare for the ancestral worship ceremony!”
