The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Let Me Carry You on My Back_1

Shirley Miller was drunk.

She had been drinking for a while, and with troubles in her heart, the night breeze only made the alcohol hit her harder, and soon she couldn’t hold on any longer.

Shirley Miller leaned into Carson Flores’s arms, biting her lips, as tears silently streamed down.

These tears weren’t shed just for Carson Flores, but also for her lost parents, for life’s hardships, for the fickleness of fate.

Hot tears soaked through Carson Flores’s T-shirt on his chest, making him feel the warmth of Shirley Miller’s tears.

Carson Flores looked down with a compassionate gaze.

He had never seen his parents since he was young, Shirley Miller had lost her parents at an early age, and was targeted by her own family, subjected to various schemes – his own circumstances were not much better than hers.

Carson Flores understood her.

Perhaps the strong-willed Shirley had not cried in a long time, considering she only had her elderly grandfather by her side, and she had to be his support – how could she afford to be weak?

Carson Flores gently patted Shirley Miller’s back, like consoling a sad child.

”Cry, if you want to cry, just let it out loud.”

With Carson Flores’s consolation, Shirley Miller’s emotions, stimulated by alcohol, completely collapsed; her silence turned into sobs, and she clung to Carson Flores as if afraid he would run away the moment she let go.

Shirley was a woman of strong character, and after a short cry, once she had vented her emotions slightly, she stopped her tears, even though she was still drunk; she was just a bit embarrassed to face Carson Flores, and kept her head buried in his chest.

In a low voice near Shirley Miller’s ear, Carson Flores said, ”The day after tomorrow, the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, is the day the Miller Family will be eradicated. You can take your revenge then.”

Shirley Miller suddenly lifted her head from Carson’s embrace, looking at him in shock, her eyes eager and excited.

”Really?”

Carson Flores nodded, answering softly, ”I have already slain the Grandmaster of the Miller Family abroad, Beckham Miller. The Martinez Family, the Johnston Family, and the Firzgerald Family will join me, and on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, we will join forces to completely eradicate the Miller Family and then dismember it, ensuring that after the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Miller Family will cease to exist in the martial arts world.”

”Beckham Miller?”

Shirley Miller said in shock, ”You killed him? If it hadn’t been for him crippling Gavin Miller and Brandon Miller, my father might not have lost to Knox Miller, and perhaps the subsequent disaster wouldn’t have happened.”

Carson Flores asked in surprise, ”Gavin Miller and Brandon Miller were supporting your father?”

Shirley Miller nodded, ”Yes, they each had their own supporters within the family. Although it’s one family, there are actually quite a number of branches. After Gavin and Brandon were crippled, my father’s supporters were greatly weakened, and in the end, they lost to Knox Miller. Even though the death of my parents seemed accidental, I don’t believe it was just a coincidence.”

Carson Flores agreed, ”No matter the truth, we can ask Knox Miller directly then.”

Shirley Miller nodded, ”Will you also ask him about your own origins?”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”The incident from twenty-seven years ago... At that time, Knox Miller was still young and had not taken over the Miller Family. It wasn’t his concern. The person I need to question is Peter Miller, the great-grandfather of the Miller Family. It was he who pursued my father back then; he admitted to severely injuring my father but denied killing him. I must find out the truth.”

After a pause, Carson Flores asked, ”Is there anyone in the Miller Family who has been particularly kind to you, someone you want to protect? I can spare them when the time comes...”

Shirley Miller gave a bitter smile, ”No, do as you please. Besides a few specific individuals, you’ll just end their cultivation, returning them to a mundane life. You won’t be killing them, right?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Correct.”

Shirley Miller agreed, ”Then there’s no problem. Returning to a mundane life isn’t so bad.”

Seeing that Shirley Miller’s mood had calmed down, Carson Flores released her, ”Let’s go, back to sleep.”

Shirley Miller bit her lip, walked a few steps, then stopped, ”I feel dizzy...”

Carson Flores looked ahead at the nearby hotel and simply bent down, ”I’ll carry you.”

Shirley Miller bit her lip and compliantly lay on Carson Flores’s back.

Carson Flores grasped Shirley Miller’s long legs and stood up, stepping forward, ”If you’re feeling dizzy, just lie down and sleep.”

”Mm!”

Shirley Miller lay on Carson Flores’s back, feeling the warmth of his hands around her legs, and while she felt shy, she also experienced a subtle sense of happiness.

Carson Flores’s back was sturdy and gave her a sense of security; Shirley’s foggy mind quickly rested on Carson Flores’s shoulder, and she fell into a deep sleep.

Carson Flores carried Shirley Miller back to the hotel, glanced at her shoulder, which was now asleep, and couldn’t help but smile.

He wondered how she would feel when she woke up the next day.

As Carson Flores reached the hotel entrance with Shirley Miller on his back, he suddenly became bewildered.

Shirley Miller had nothing on her, just a mobile phone; she carried no bag, so naturally, she didn’t have the room card either.

After a moment of hesitation, Carson Flores turned and carried Shirley Miller into his own room.

Although he could ask a hotel staff to open a room, it would be bothersome, and since Shirley Miller was drunk, it would be easier to look after her if anything were to happen at night.

Sharing a bed wasn’t a new thing anyway...
