The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 307: Chapter 307 Good Morning!_1

Carson Flores laid Shirley Miller on the bed, and she only hummed softly, vaguely waking for a moment. Seeing Carson right before her eyes, she closed them again, reassured.

Carson took off Shirley’s shoes, hesitated as he looked at her still in her work attire, then sat her up and helped her out of her outerwear.

It definitely wouldn’t be convenient to remove her dress, so Carson turned on the air conditioning, draped the blanket over her, and then took a set of pajamas to the bathroom.

After Carson left, Shirley opened her eyes on the bed, her gaze complex through the haze.

She had woken up the moment Carson put her down and hadn’t completely lost consciousness. She was aware that Carson was undressing her, but she didn’t stop him; she just pretended to be asleep, drunk. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be too embarrassing?

Carson also had quite a few drinks today. Could he possibly do something to her?

Shirley pursed her lips, with an inexplicable sense of anticipation in her heart.

Human beings are not emotionless plants, who can be devoid of feelings?

No matter how strong and fierce Shirley Miller was, she was still a woman at heart, yearning for a man’s tenderness, someone to rely on, wishing for a man she fancied to embrace her in sleep, and to engage in intimate acts...

Carson Flores was a man who could fulfill all her fantasies.

Strong, tender, handsome...

She somewhat regretted the three-month term she had originally set with Carson. By now, it was too late to back out, and she couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Besides, she could sense that Carson’s heart wasn’t really here; perhaps this was just a brief stop in his journey through life.

Moreover, hadn’t Carson mentioned he had a woman he was close to? She must be someone he liked, right?

And then there was Camille Rhodes; she liked Carson, didn’t she?

The way she looked at Carson held no defense; although they didn’t exchange any intimate words or actions, that natural ease couldn’t have existed between ordinary friends.

Had everything that was supposed to happen between them already occurred?

Shirley held no grievances.

The path was hers to choose, the words hers to speak. She couldn’t blame Carson. He had already been good and kind enough to her.

What could she do?

What was she expecting?

The alcohol left Shirley physically powerless, but her mind was surprisingly clear.

The sound of water stopped, and Carson emerged from the bathroom drying his hair.

Shirley quickly closed her eyes, trying to not think of anything, quietly waiting for things that might or might not happen.

She wouldn’t refuse.

Carson sat on the edge of the bed, checking his phone for a while. Once his hair was dry, he turned off the wall light and lay down.

It was only then that Carson realized there was only one blanket.

At home, although they slept in the same bed, they each had their separate blankets, but now the situation was a bit awkward.

Carson glanced at Shirley, who hadn’t moved, hesitated for a moment, then decided to let it be.

After all, she was drunk, and he hadn’t done anything to her. Sharing one blanket shouldn’t be a big problem.

Carson slid into the covers, moved a bit closer to the center, then closed his eyes.

Shirley was right by his side, but at the moment, Carson’s thoughts were elsewhere. Firstly, he had also drunk a lot and just wanted to sleep, and secondly, since Shirley was drunk, it would be indecent to have other thoughts.

Hearing the quiet beside her, Shirley felt a vague sense of loss stir within her.

He was too much of a gentleman, but then again, he always had been, so it wasn’t surprising.

Perhaps he had already prepared to leave, which was why he was so courteous with her.

At that thought, a subtle sorrow filled Shirley’s heart.

Overcome by the surge of emotions, the inebriated Shirley turned over, her hand instinctively wrapping around Carson, her leg casually draped over him, settling into the most comfortable intimate posture for a couple.

Carson paused, turned his head to look at Shirley, and saw that her eyes were still closed. He looked at the hand on his chest for a moment, then decided to just let her be.

This was the first time Shirley was this intimate with Carson, making her cheeks flush with heat, yet she also found it exceptionally comfortable, as though a ship returning from a long voyage had entered a calm bay.

Peaceful!

Since Carson didn’t react, Shirley couldn’t make any more intimate gestures herself. She had reached the limit of her courage.

As her thoughts settled, the aftermath of the alcohol hit fast, and Shirley soon fell asleep.

When she awoke again, it was already light outside.

Carson was awake but hadn’t moved, staring at the ceiling as if contemplating life, and it seemed like he had been doing so for a while, obviously being careful not to stir and wake her.

Shirley looked at her own state and her face instantly reddened.

She clung to Carson like a koala, intimate and without any gaps, and to make matters worse, her own clothes were gone, leaving her exposed.

She thought back and flashed images started to appear in her mind, scenes of herself undressing because she felt uncomfortable.

Shirley shyly raised her head and met Carson’s gaze as he looked down. Their eyes locked in an instant.

”Good morning!”

Without offering any explanation, Carson simply smiled naturally, his tone gentle as he greeted her like a casual intimate salutation between a couple in the early hours.

Shirley’s frantic heart calmed down, and she smiled softly back at Carson, her voice tender.

”Good morning!”
