The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 333: Chapter 333 Are Your Questions Too Naive?_1

Edgar Harrison drove towards the villa while dialing Santino Vasquez’s number.

”Mr. Vasquez.”

Santino Vasquez’s tone was expectant, ”Did you catch them?”

Edgar Harrison’s voice was calm, not rushed, ”No, there’s been a complication. Mr. Vasquez, the information you gave me seems to be a bit off.”

Santino Vasquez sounded puzzled, ”What’s the problem?”

Edgar Harrison spoke gravely, ”I have eight skilled men under my command, known as the Eight Generals of Two Rivers. I dispatched five of them for this job, but I just received a call from one of them. They sneaked into the target’s residence, and then one of the targets effortlessly killed four of them...”

Santino Vasquez exclaimed in shock, ”How is that possible?”

Edgar Harrison confirmed, ”The man’s name is Carson Flores, right?”

Santino Vasquez affirmed, ”Yes, that’s him. What, is he a high-level Cultivator?”

Edgar Harrison spoke with gravity, ”The surviving subordinate of mine had dealt with him once before over another matter, and can confirm he’s a Cultivator, and not just any, but a formidable one. Your intel was far from accurate.”

Carson Flores is a high-level Cultivator?

Santino Vasquez felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over his head, and in that instant, many previous doubts suddenly cleared up.

Shirley Miller, as the president of the Miller Group and worth billions, why would her grandfather arrange an engagement with Carson Flores for her? Why would the high-and-mighty Shirley Miller take a liking to Carson Flores?

Isn’t it because Carson Flores is a high-level Cultivator?

If Carson Flores had no power and was just an ordinary person, how could Shirley Miller possibly fancy him? How could she agree to marry him, be so affectionate, and even lower herself so much that she turned a blind eye to Carson Flores’s indiscretions?

High-level Cultivators aren’t just found under rocks. Carson Flores is so young yet has achieved such cultivation – that indicates he must have connections. Without talking about anything else, at least a formidable Cultivator as a master, right?

Yet, I had people kidnap Carson Flores and Shirley Miller. If this gets out and they come seeking revenge, can I really hold them off?

”Brother Harrison, this was my oversight. They deceived and concealed things from me, and I did not verify. I will definitely provide sufficient compensation for this mishap, but how do we proceed now?”

Edgar Harrison hummed a reminder, ”From what the other party said, they don’t seem to take me or the Harrison Family very seriously. I’m going to meet them and cannot afford to lose face for the Harrison Family, but I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to hold them off. If I can’t, I might not be able to keep your secret.”

Although Santino Vasquez felt a bit dissatisfied inside, he also knew that for the other party to call him like this was giving him face – after all, wasn’t that a warning in itself?

”Alright, I completely understand. If the other side is really powerful, you don’t have to cover for me. Just reveal that you were helping me out.”

Edgar Harrison chuckled, ”I’m just talking about the worst-case scenario. Anyway, I’m a Grandmaster and have the backing of the Harrison Family. If it can be kept under wraps, I’ll do everything in my power to ensure it’s contained and not involve you, Mr. Vasquez.”

Santino Vasquez spoke gratefully, ”Okay, then I’ll wait for your call.”

After hanging up, Santino Vasquez thought for a moment, stood up from the couch, took off his pajamas, quickly changed into clothes, and then left the house.

Having left his residence, Santino Vasquez didn’t go far, and casually picked a nearby coffee shop, ordered a cup of coffee, placed his phone on the table, and waited quietly.

...

Edgar Harrison parked his car in front of the villa, glanced at the villa itself, and scaled the enclosing wall with a leap.

In the small courtyard of the villa lay four corpses, unmoving, and beside them stood a man with a nervous and cautious demeanor, the very Brendan Stein who had called him earlier.

In front of Brendan Stein, a chair was placed on the open ground, where a young man sat casually, legs crossed, looking at his phone with an easy expression.

On the second-floor balcony, two beautiful women stood, their gazes fixed intently on him.

An inexplicable sense of trepidation rose within Edgar Harrison’s heart, as if the seemingly peaceful courtyard concealed endless deadly traps, like a bottomless abyss that could swallow one whole without leaving a trace of bone.

Suppressing this near-instinctual fear, Edgar Harrison jumped into the yard.

A youth in his twenties, how powerful could he be?

A Grandmaster?

Impossible!

Plus, even if he really were a prodigy and a Grandmaster, so am I. There’s no need to fear him!

Carson Flores looked up, glanced at Edgar Harrison, and put away his phone, ”Edgar Harrison?”

Edgar Harrison coldly said, ”Who are you, to strike with such ruthless efficiency?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”You sent people after me, yet you ask who I am. Don’t you think your question is a bit juvenile?”

Edgar Harrison was at a loss for words and simultaneously filled with regret.

I trusted Santino Vasquez too much this time, never even considering to investigate the target myself. If I had truly checked, surely I wouldn’t be ignorant of the other party’s details, right?
