The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 343: Chapter 343: This woman is too smart; she’s on her guard against me!_1

”Miss Rhodes, it seems like you don’t like me.”

As the sunset glow bathed the surroundings, Jensen Meadows leaned on the railing, watching Camille Rhodes, who was fishing seriously beside him, ”You don’t need to deny it, my eyes don’t lie to me.”

Camille Rhodes gave a slight smile, ”We’ve only met for half a day, talking about likes seems a bit exaggerated, doesn’t it?”

Camille Rhodes didn’t want to offend Jensen Meadows, given his significant background. Offending him could bring trouble to her family, and she feared her father would scold her to death.

Jensen Meadows laughed, ”Whether you like someone or not can actually be determined at first glance, the rest is nothing but timely consideration and weighing the situation.”

You make it sound so reasonable!

I decided I didn’t like you at first glance!

Camille Rhodes gave a slight smile, ”The main issue is that I already have someone I like. My heart doesn’t have room for anyone else.”

Jensen Meadows’s brows furrowed slightly, ”Wasn’t it said that you’ve always been without a boyfriend?”

Camille Rhodes laughed, ”Did Lennox Acedvedo say that? My relationship with him isn’t so close that I need to report who I like to him, so it’s normal that he doesn’t know.”

After thinking for a bit, Jensen Meadows straight to the point, ”Miss Rhodes, I don’t like beating around the bush. I took a liking to you at first sight, and I believe my status as Sect Master of the Divine Cloudy Sect is more than worthy of you. Just nod your head, and I’ll marry you right away. With you and me together, your Rhodes Family will naturally rise with the tide.”

Camille Rhodes’s expression changed slightly, dragging out her reply, ”That’s very direct of you, speaking of marriage right upon meeting. I’m somewhat unable to accept that. How about this, give me some time to think things over and discuss with my family. After all, marrying you wouldn’t be a small matter.”

Jensen Meadows was silent for two seconds, his gaze slightly displeased, but he didn’t say more, ”Fine, think about it.”

Jensen Meadows returned to where Lennox Acedvedo was sitting and lay down, Lennox Acedvedo asked, ”What’s the matter, you seem upset?”

Jensen Meadows snorted coldly, ”It’s an honor for her if I’m willing to marry her, raising her family’s status, yet she seems so unwilling. By the way, she said she has someone she likes, who?”

Lennox Acedvedo was taken aback for a moment, ”Could it be Carson Flores?”

Jensen Meadows’s expression grew colder, ”Hasn’t Carson Flores gotten married?”

Lennox Acedvedo explained, ”Yes, he is indeed married, but Camille Rhodes is quite close to Carson Flores, frequently seeking him out to hang out. If she says she has someone she likes, it could only be Carson Flores. If it’s an excuse, then naturally it’s false...”

After a moment of thought, Jensen Meadows said, ”My time is limited; I don’t have time to play hide and seek with her. Later, I’ll spike her drink, handle things tonight, and once I return home tomorrow, I’ll propose to the Rhodes Family. I don’t believe they would dare refuse.”

Lennox Acedvedo laughed, ”The Rhodes Family would probably be more than happy.”

Jensen Meadows nodded, ”If they agree, I’ll marry her. If they disagree, then we’ll pretend this never happened.”

Being a man himself, Lennox Acedvedo naturally understood Jensen Meadows’s thoughts, ”Alright!”

Before long, it was dinner time, and everyone gathered to enjoy a seafood feast.

After everyone had quite a bit to drink, Jensen Meadows, holding two glasses of wine, walked over to Camille Rhodes and offered one to her, ”Have a drink. Whether or not you’ve made up your mind, meeting is a kind of destiny.”

Camille Rhodes glanced at the wine glass handed by Jensen Meadows and smiled as she reached to take the glass, ”Mr. Meadows, I’m flattered by your high regard. Indeed, I should have a drink...”

Just as Camille Rhodes was holding the glass and Jensen Meadows was about to let go, her hand suddenly slipped, causing the glass to tilt sharply to the side.

With an exclamation, Camille Rhodes stepped back, and the red wine immediately splashed all over the ground.

The expression on Jensen Meadows’s face froze.

He had spiked that glass of wine, but Camille Rhodes had somehow managed to spill it.

On purpose?

Or just a coincidence?

Seeing the look on Jensen Meadows’s face, Camille Rhodes felt a sinking feeling in her heart, realizing her fears were coming to pass.

”I’m sorry, I’ve had too much to drink; my hand slipped. I’ll pour another!”

Camille Rhodes put down the glass, picked up her own, poured another one, apologetically tapped Jensen Meadows’s glass and then boldly drank it down.

Jensen Meadows drank his wine, his face barely hiding his frustration as he retreated back to Lennox Acedvedo’s side.

With a signal from his eyes, Lennox spoke up, and Jensen Meadows through gritted teeth said, ”This woman is too smart, she’s guarding against me, seems like I’ll have to resort to force.”

Lennox Acedvedo naturally wouldn’t stop Jensen Meadows, ”She’s staying in room A3.”

Jensen Meadows grunted in acknowledgment, ”I’ll go straight over later, knock her out and get it over with.”

In the distance, Camille Rhodes watched the two men whispering to each other, a look of worry crossing her eyes. After a moment’s thought, she took out her phone and sent a message with her location to Carson Flores.

”Are you out at sea? How far are you from me? If you’re not too far, could you come pick me up? I feel like something bad is going to happen here...”
