The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Can We Not Get Divorced?_1

”The old man said he’ll come to pick you up in three days, what’s that about?”

Shirley Miller explained, ”He said he’s taking me to meet someone and undergo some kind of test, but he didn’t give me more details, just that my grandfather has already agreed.”

Test?

Since the Miller Family patriarch had agreed, Carson Flores didn’t press further, only asking, ”How long will you be gone?”

”I don’t know, he didn’t say.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Okay then, if anything comes up, call me anytime.”

”Will do.”

Carson Flores thought for a moment, ”In the next three days, we’ll basically complete the preliminary division of the Miller assets. Regarding those, which properties are you most interested in? I’ll try my best to get them back for you.”

Shirley Miller knew that with the downfall of the Millers, it would soon be time for others to divide their assets. She thought for a moment, ”As for the properties, I don’t care about them, I don’t mind. I just want to get back my parents’ house, it holds my childhood memories, as well as the memories of our family.”

”When my parents died, my grandfather took me and we left, and that house was reclaimed by the Millers. If possible, I hope to get it back.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”No problem, anything else?”

Shirley Miller thought a bit more, ”The two uncles who supported my father were crippled by Beckham Miller, and their branch has declined because of that. Now they’ve been stripped of their cultivation, I hope they can retain some properties to live out their lives in peace.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Alright, make a list of any particular assets you want to keep, and I’ll discuss keeping those with the other three families first. As for the rest, it doesn’t matter how we divide them. Also, I’ll see your two uncles to check up on their health, to see if there’s a chance to restore some of it.”

Shirley Miller looked at Carson Flores, her gaze tender and moved.

Whatever she did, this man would support her unconditionally, help her, and be her strongest shield.

Shirley Miller took a step forward, wrapped her arms around Carson Flores, and rested her head against his chest.

”Thank you.”

Carson Flores’s mind was serene. He knew Shirley Miller was emotionally turbulent today and could not settle down easily. It was natural for her to be emotionally unstable at the moment, so he gently embraced her and tenderly consoled, ”All the hardships are behind you now. From this moment on, you do not need to bear the burden of the past. You only need to live for yourself.”

”Yeah!”

Shirley Miller, holding Carson Flores, feeling the warmth of his embrace, and listening to his tender words, suddenly had a thought.

She had once been pessimistic because she was an enemy of the Millers and did not want to drag Carson Flores into it, so she had no intention of pursuing love. But now that the Millers had fallen and the grudge was settled, as Carson Flores said, she could now live for herself. Didn’t that mean she could open her heart and face her own feelings, to accept love?

”What about you, what will you do next?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”First, I’ll take some time to stabilize my Great Grandmaster realm, and then continue the investigation. I have to uncover the truth.”

Shirley Miller asked with concern, ”Is that Yuyu Sect very powerful?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Should be about the same as the Millers. Before, I was only a Grandmaster, so it was somewhat difficult to deal with the Millers. But now that I’ve become a Great Grandmaster, it will be much simpler. It won’t be as complicated as it was with the Millers. Besides, I don’t need to take on the whole Yuyu Sect, I just need to confront Johnny Gross and get the truth from him.”

Shirley Miller sighed in relief. She knew about the dangers involved in their confrontation with the Millers. If Carson Flores had to probe his origins by moving from one sect to another, it would inevitably lead to serious problems.

No matter how formidable Carson Flores was, he was still just one person.

”It’s a pity I’m not a cultivator; I can’t help at all.”

Shirley Miller sighed, ”When I was a child, my mother always said I had a talent for cultivation. I even laid the foundation early on. Unfortunately, an accident happened later, and my grandfather wouldn’t let me continue practicing cultivation. He wanted me to lead a normal life, and so my training stopped there...”

Carson Flores laughed, ”If you were a cultivator, you might have taken some extreme actions. And if you had been a cultivator, their attacks on you would have been more direct. The old man stopped your cultivation to protect you.”

Shirley Miller nodded, ”Yeah, it just feels like a bit of a regret.”

Carson Flores encouraged her, ”It’s never too late to start cultivating. As for the results, well, that’s uncertain, but strengthening the body is guaranteed. If you really have a talent for cultivation, there have been Great Practitioners who didn’t start until they were in their forties and still succeeded in the end.”

Lying in Carson Flores’s arms, Shirley Miller felt secure. She decided that once she returned from visiting the old man Ouyang, she would have a proper talk with Carson Flores.

By that time, the three-month period should be almost up.

Shirley Miller wanted to ask Carson Flores, she regretted it, she didn’t want a divorce anymore, would that be okay?
