Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 248: Chapter 246: Book of Special Knowledge

Hearing the Grand Knight say this, Gu Xi grabbed the Grand Knight’s hand.

”No, Grand Knight, I can hold on. Help me upgrade my skills. My magic knowledge has already reached Level 5, but I’ve been stuck here. Please do me this favor, Grand Knight.”

The Grand Knight glanced at Gu Xi and shook his head.

”You can’t hold on right now.”

”It’s fine. If I can’t hold on, I’ll just sleep it off for a few days. I’ll recover all the same.”

Though Gu Xi said this, he didn’t think so in his heart.

If he really couldn’t hold on, he could just exit the instance.

The flow of time in the instance is different from the outside world. If worse comes to worst, he could restart it. After all, the hidden underground tomb has been found; next time, he could go directly from there.

On the contrary, the opportunity to break through to Level 6 magic knowledge is right in front of him.

If he misses it, who knows where this chance will come from again.

Seeing Gu Xi’s determination, the Grand Knight shook his head again.

He came to persuade Gu Xi to rest, but instead, Gu Xi seized the opportunity.

At this moment, Luna floated to Gu Xi’s side, ready to support him if he fainted.

Seeing that Gu Xi and his subordinates were prepared, the Grand Knight shook his head helplessly.

”Magic knowledge, is it? Here, hold this book.”

The Grand Knight then took out a not-too-thick book with a golden cover and placed it in Gu Xi’s hand.

Before Gu Xi could flip open the book, the Grand Knight snatched it back.

Gu Xi was about to ask what was going on when he heard a voice in his ear.

[Ding! You’ve come into contact with special knowledge. Under the influence of this knowledge, your magic knowledge +1.]

Gu Xi’s eyes widened in disbelief. He hadn’t expected that just touching the book had raised his magic knowledge by one level.

If he finished reading the book, what level would his knowledge reach?

Seeing the madness in Gu Xi’s eyes, the Grand Knight shouted.

”Maintain your inner peace. You are the master of knowledge, not its slave.”

As the Grand Knight shouted these words, Luna reached out her hands and touched Gu Xi’s temples. The Touch of Frost effect activated, and Gu Xi’s mind quickly calmed down.

At this moment, Gu Xi realized he had indeed been a bit dazed just now, which wasn’t a normal phenomenon.

So Gu Xi said to the Grand Knight, ”Grand Knight, thank you. I might need to lie down.”

”No problem, go ahead. I have other matters to attend to.”

The Grand Knight watched as Gu Xi fell to the ground and fell asleep without asking much, for he truly had other matters to deal with.

However, this time he didn’t go back to studying the situation with the Black Apple Blossoms. Right now, he was communicating with other forces that could dispatch troops, instructing them to take the underground tomb route Gu Xi mentioned, to take a look at Tail King Spore Cultist Charlie.

The Grand Knight had only just conveyed part of the information Gu Xi had brought back to Princess Anna.

Princess Anna had already made a decision.

Regardless of the enemies on the surface, she insisted on dealing with Spore Cultist Charlie first.

After all, the one sleeping in the underground tomb was Eldest Princess Anna’s great aunt.

With the enemy so close to the underground tomb, Eldest Princess Anna could hardly restrain herself from attacking from the surface.

If it weren’t for the Grand Knight persuading her, she might have already stormed in with her men.

Even so, Eldest Princess Anna gave the Grand Knight only one day. After a day, she needed to have all the intelligence on Spore Cultist Charlie to deploy troops and eliminate him.

So the Grand Knight had been busy with this task.

And Eldest Princess Anna wasn’t one to make unreasonable demands.

She had her own skills.

After delegating the tasks, she led her troops to directly confront the eerie mutated Apple Tree, preventing it from leaving the Westminster Cathedral District, and not allowing enemies to appear in the great square.

Under Eldest Princess Anna’s command, the Holy Knights affected by the Apple Tree, and the people trapped inside Westminster Cathedral who had turned into eerie beings, were all pushed back.

Among these enemies, dealing with the mutated people was the hardest.

Each of them possessed different eerie powers; some were relatively easy to handle, while others were quite challenging.

Some wouldn’t even activate until after death.

The Holy Knights defending the perimeter couldn’t assess each individual’s situation, so they kept using Holy Light Slash and other Holy Light type spells.

Short-term, it was okay, but over time, even the Holy Knights couldn’t sustain it.

Just then, a white orb of light flew to Eldest Princess Anna’s side.

Eldest Princess Anna reached out her hand and pulled out a slip of paper from the white orb of light.

This orb was a messenger exclusively used by the British Royal Family, a bloodline light element.

Only members of the British Royal Family by bloodline could control this messenger.

The reason for controlling it through bloodline was because many members of the British Royal Family followed the path of the Undead Mage.

Even if they didn’t, some would become ghosts or undead after death.

If only a light element were used as a messenger, they wouldn’t be able to use it after death.

Only the bloodline light element allows the undead to use the light element.

After taking out the slip of paper, Anna glanced at it and then took it seriously.

It seemed that the King also agreed with Anna’s opinion that no one was allowed to cause trouble outside the tomb of the Northern Flower Svietlana.

So this battle had to be fought.

With the King’s approval, Anna quickly mobilized her troops.

Since troops had to be moved underground to battle Tail King, the forces on the surface would inevitably be reduced.

To ensure that the surface of Westminster Cathedral wouldn’t be breached once the troops were withdrawn, Anna had to arrange everything properly.

Which troops to leave behind, and which to prioritize defending which area, were all things Anna needed to consider.

This handling took time, and before she knew it, the sky darkened.

In the darkness, the corpses hanging on the immense Apple Tree began to move slowly, while lights lit up inside Westminster Cathedral.

The light had a sacred aura, making anyone who saw it want to go inside and sit for a while.

At this time, Gu Xi, who had fallen to the ground asleep, woke up and struggled to stand, looked around, and noticed the obvious mutation at Westminster Cathedral in the distance.

There, it was both black and white, like the inside and outside of a mirror.

The sight was unpleasant to Gu Xi, so he turned away, avoiding looking at Westminster Cathedral.

Simultaneously, he called over Luna and, somewhat puzzled, asked, ”Luna, take a look over there. Is there something wrong?”
