Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 240: Chapter 238: Battle’s End (Subscription Request Removed)

The Zombie Warrior rising from the ground is the transformation of a deceased knight, his arrow-pierced knight armor still clinging to his body as he stood up.

However, he paid no mind to the arrows and instead drew the longsword hanging beside the fallen warhorse, striding towards the knights engaged in slashing down the Zombie Axe and Shield Soldiers.

The movement speed of this Zombie Warrior was not at all sluggish; despite being clad in full-body heavy armor, he could even trot.

When he came face to face with a knight, he merely crouched down low.

The approaching knight seeing this didn’t hold back simply because the opponent was once a comrade.

These knights followed a High Tier Undead Mage, fully aware that the Undead summoned back through necromancy were no longer their comrades.

Facing the crouched Zombie Warrior, the knight pointed the tip of the long spear at the ground, ready to pierce this newly appeared enemy.

But he did not expect the Zombie Warrior to crouch in preparation for a desperate move.

As the knight’s spear tip thrust forward, the Zombie Warrior kicked back with both feet, leaping high and crashing down heavily on the knight, dragging him off his warhorse.

Then he thrust the longsword in his hand into the knight’s chest.

With this thrust, a large quantity of liquid sprayed from the knight’s chest.

It wasn’t blood but a liquid akin to mercury.

The Zombie Warrior clearly understood what it was, having previously undergone modification with such liquid. Though now an Undead under Gu Xi’s command, he knew the knight’s weak points well.

Targeting a critical point with this attack immobilized the knight.

It could be said that the Zombie Warrior had quite an impressive battle accomplishment, a Level 0 Zombie killing a knight of at least Level 11.

Although there was an element of craftiness, the system acknowledged it.

The Zombie Warrior pinned down the knight’s body; no matter how the knight punched at him, he held him immobile.

Anyway, with the knight’s wound pinned, his blood would flow inexorably.

And although the knight’s attacks injured the Zombie Warrior, each strike only deducted a single point of life.

Now it was a contest of life endurance, seeing whether the knight would die first or the Zombie Warrior.

At this time, another knight noticed the situation, yet the knights held their own sense of pride — in one-on-one combats like this, as long as neither was dead, others couldn’t intervene.

Thus this knight merely glanced over before turning his attention elsewhere.

Nearby were still many Zombie Axe and Shield Soldiers crowding them with their shields, hoping to land an axe blow.

They were still dealing with these Zombie Axe and Shield Soldiers, with no room to assist the fallen comrade.

By now, the pinned knight had lost his vigor, and the Zombie Warrior thrust the longsword deeper into the ground.

From Gu Xi’s side came a ”ding” sound.

[Zombie Warrior (Summoned Creatures) has slain Mercury Transformation Knight (Level 12), you gain 1 point of Experience (excess 1 point stored), Summoned Creatures gain 11213 points of Experience.]

[Zombie Warrior (Summoned Creatures) levels up to Level 7.]

[...]

However, amid a flood of slaying messages, Gu Xi barely noticed these notifications.

Currently, he had set aside his summoning aspirations, dealing with the enemy Ghosts using a Bone Storm.

With Luna’s participation, the enemy Ghosts were thrown into disarray, allowing Gu Xi to seize the opportunity to control the Bone Storm in minute details, striking Ghosts from every angle.

Thus, the number of enemy Ghosts was nearly depleted.

Only the Ghost Hero and a few Ghosts remained.

Meanwhile, next to Luna, there were still 45 Ghosts launching relentless attacks on the isolated Ghosts. Whenever injured, Luna would have them withdraw to the side.

Gu Xi took the interval to release several Skeleton Priests, letting them replenish his forces’ Undead Life.

Through this give and take, Gu Xi’s forces gradually gained the upper hand.

About seven or eight minutes later, Luna finally wore out the Ghost Hero.

When the Ghost Hero perished, the battle banner behind him fell to the ground. Luna, puzzled, took the battle banner to Gu Xi’s side.

By that time, Gu Xi had already shifted his focus to the other two battlegrounds.

Now, the other two battlefields were nearing their conclusion stage.

On the enemy’s ragtag Undead side, the coordination between Skeleton Gunners and Death Incarnation was exceptional.

Death Incarnation alone held off a sizable number of Skeleton Soldiers, effectively stalling those that most counteracted the Skeleton Gunners, granting the Gunners the opportunity to employ their tide-like assassination skills.

No matter the Undead’s condition, they marched onward, assassinating.

Soon, the zombies among these Undead and other sundry units were mostly slain.

Seeing this situation, Gu Xi decisively sent out the Bone-Slaying Camp at the last moment.

At the same time, the remaining combat squad under Gu Xi surged forth.

Their charge coincided perfectly with the Skeleton Gunners killing the last non-Skeleton Undead; at this point, the Skeleton Soldiers sought to battle the Gunners.

However, Death Incarnation restrained them; they couldn’t leave Death Incarnation’s side. The Bone-Slaying Camp and combat squad arrived just in time at the final moment, succeeding in executing slashing attacks on the enemy Skeleton Soldiers.

Suddenly, the pressure on Death Incarnation eased significantly, leading to a frenzied assault.

Death Incarnation’s attack methods were straightforward: biting, clawing, tail sweeping.

Each strike killed numerous Skeleton Soldiers.

When truly necessary, Death Incarnation would roll on the ground, using its metallic body to crush Skeleton Soldiers.

After several such encounters, the number of Skeleton Soldiers dwindled until three minutes past the Ghost Hero’s death, at which point this batch of Undead perished completely.

Meanwhile, on the cavalry’s side, only 6 knights remained fighting.

At this point, even Gu Xi had to admit the knights’ formidable strength.

Out of a thousand Zombie Axe and Shield Soldiers, over five hundred had fallen amidst the knights’ repeated charges.

If not for the Skeleton Shooters and Skeleton Mages standing at a distance, they might have been caught in the skirmish.

However, now the situation of the 6 knights wasn’t ideal; each bore significant injuries, their warhorses shattered in repeated charges, leaving them to move on foot.

They had replaced their weapons with longswords, now standing back-to-back, only able to exert one-third of their combat power.

As the other Undead were slaughtered, the forces available to Gu Xi increased.

He pointed at the knights readying for battle.

”All in, bite them to death!”
