Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 208: Chapter 206: Quest Settlement

In front of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild’s grand plaza, Gu Xi stepped out from the teleportation gate holding the Cold Wind Staff.

”Newcomers, don’t just stand there. Bring your task sheet here to record achievements, and collect rewards over there.”

Gu Xi looked up and noticed a player waving at him from a short distance away.

Gu Xi quickly walked over with the Cold Wind Staff in hand, while taking out the Mage Leader and the task settlement sheet given by the City Lord of the Scattered Immortal Garden.

”This is my task sheet, take a look.”

Upon receiving the task settlement sheet, the player only glanced at it and then widened his eyes, staring at Gu Xi incredulously.

”Upper A? Two Upper A ratings?”

”Is there a problem?”

Gu Xi asked with a puzzled expression.

These two task settlement sheets seemed normal to him, just evaluations for his two tasks.

One was transporting troops to the Scattered Immortal Garden.

The other was defending the Undead Calamity Ritual Array, and he thought he completed both tasks quite well. Why would there be a problem with getting an Upper A rating?

”Nothing’s wrong.”

The player responsible for the settlement didn’t say much more.

He couldn’t exactly reveal that most guilds have an unspoken rule: unless the performance is truly outstanding, newcomers usually don’t get more than an A-grade task evaluation.

After all, in the game, A is the highest rating, equivalent to about an S-Class.

Getting an Upper A is already like an SS. If tasks for newbie players were routinely rated SS, there’d be a precedent problem for future task ratings and rewards.

So, regardless of the guild, there would be this default unspoken rule arrangement.

Unless the player is truly exceptional, everyone is either Upper B or Under the Armor.

The Gu Xi in front of him received two Upper A ratings directly, and the player didn’t know how he achieved it.

However, the player didn’t express his doubts; he flipped through the task settlement sheet.

”For the troop transport mission, it was agreed beforehand to provide 100 Undead before the battle and 50 Elite Undead afterward, a piece of blue equipment, and 300 yuan worth of goods.

You’ve already taken the 300 yuan worth of goods from here; the Undead promised before and after the battle haven’t been disbursed yet. This is the Recruitment Order; you can recruit 100 regular Undead and 50 special elites at the Barracks or specialized Training Camp.

This is the voucher for the blue equipment; you can choose the equipment position, but the attributes are random, and there’s no way to change that.

As for the battle of defending the Undead Calamity Array, most of the rewards have been given by the Scattered Immortal Garden.

The guild here offers a reward worth 1,000 yuan in goods, and you can purchase them at the guild shop.

Additionally, the two tasks settle guild achievements: 250 points for the troop transport task, 450 points for defending the Undead Calamity Array, totaling 700 points in guild achievements.

According to the guild’s ranking table, congratulations, you’ve passed the probation period and are now a formal member of our Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

From today on, you can use all the buildings within the guild, here’s the internal space map of the guild. Moreover, you can raise the guild banner during battles, but the attribute increase from the banner is only 10% of the guild banner’s attributes.

Additionally, some internal spaces and dungeons in the guild will be open to you for free. You can also receive certain free assistance within the guild, such as weapon and armor design, battle banner design, and more.”

The player introduced the benefits of becoming an official guild member to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi collected the various vouchers and Recruitment Orders passed to him while listening attentively.

For Gu Xi, matters within the guild were still quite unfamiliar.

Many things were not something a novice like him could understand.

After organizing everything, Gu Xi found a passing Fierce Weasel and asked, ”I want to exchange for a piece of blue equipment; I don’t know where to go for it.”

The Fierce Weasel, dressed in a butler’s outfit, glanced at Gu Xi, gestured with a please motion, and led Gu Xi out of the Teleportation Plaza.

As Gu Xi followed behind the Fierce Weasel, he compared the map before him, memorizing the route.

Soon, they arrived at the blacksmith shop located within the guild.

This blacksmith shop was different from the one in the Scattered Immortal Garden; the workers here were all players from the guild.

Their strengths varied, and they did not engage in trade with outsiders, merely continually crafting the weapons in their hands.

The crafted weapons would swiftly be boxed and placed for sale in the shop outside the blacksmith shop.

As for what kind of gear a player could buy, it depended on luck.

Selling weaponry was a white-furred Fierce Weasel, who sat atop a crate, holding a cigarette holder. Upon seeing the Fierce Weasel who brought Gu Xi, he spoke slowly.

”Isn’t this Huang Jiu? Why are you running errands today?”

”Just happened to pass by and got roped in; bringing someone to learn the routes. Master Qi, this is a new player who just passed the probation period and doesn’t fully know the layout in the guild yet. He’s here to exchange for blue equipment.”

”Ah, blue equipment, yes. But the staff in your hand is blue already, and the off-hand item is blue too, what else do you want?

I’ve got armor here, but you’re an Undead Mage, you certainly can’t use knight armor.”

”Master Qi, I’d like a magic robe or other clothing pieces, like a waistband or boots, anything would do.”

Gu Xi knew the items he held were valuable. Opening loot boxes here wouldn’t necessarily yield better equipment.

So he bluntly chose clothing armor.

But the white-furred Fierce Weasel was somewhat troubled, ”Magic robes are Sixth Sister’s domain, not sold here. But if you want wrist guards, boots, or waistbands, I have them. Do you want to give it a try?”

”Sure, these small things are the hardest to find, so I’ll take one.”

Gu Xi thought for a moment. Magic robes are large items with many blue equipment options, while small gear like wrist guards and waistbands are rarer. With the chance available, Gu Xi decisively made his choice.

”The red crates over there, just pick whichever catches your eye; they’re all blue quality. As for attributes, that’s down to your luck.”

Gu Xi nodded and looked in the direction indicated by the white-furred Fierce Weasel.

There were three layers of red crates each holding fifteen.

Gu Xi tilted his head, observed for a moment, and finally pushed open one of the crates.

As the crate opened, a blue light emerged. Gu Xi saw inside the crate were two silver-gray skulls, their mouths adorned with luminous green iron chains.

One end of the chain was tightly bound to a red thick-skinned book, while the other end to a rusty short sword.

Soon, a message popped up in front of Gu Xi.
