Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 223: Chapter 221: Barracks Observations (69/158)

Luna, take these supplies away,” Gu Xi said as he entered the Barracks.

Upon entering, Gu Xi saw Fu Gu was continuously directing at the sand table.

When Fu Gu noticed Gu Xi approaching, he merely raised his head slightly.

Gu Xi walked over to the sand table and saw that Fu Gu’s attention was completely focused on the Magic Plant District. At the same time, two expedition teams appeared near it.

Another team’s position was in the direction of the Hundred-armed Giant Graveyard District.

This situation puzzled Gu Xi, as the position of the expedition forces indicated that something was happening in these places.

Why was the situation in the Magic Plant District so chaotic?

So Gu Xi first took a look at the conditions of the two expedition teams in the Magic Plant District.

[Description: Due to the influence of Withered Wood Lake, many magical and deceitful plants have appeared nearby. Please clear them quickly.]

Gu Xi understood that this was the activation of Withered Wood Lake, which attracted anomalies.

Now, over there at Withered Wood Lake, it has probably become a battlefield.

Gu Xi pondered for a moment and turned to Luna, saying, ”Build the last City Gate between the Magic Plant District and the Main City District, where the ancient City Gate used to be. The Magic Plant District has Withered Wood Lake, so it might not be too stable. We need to guard against enemies breaking in from there.”

Luna took note of this, but to build a Steel City Gate, they would have to wait for scheduling, as various small and medium-sized buildings are still awaiting construction.

Luna knew clearly what the city needed the most right now.

The Haunted Mine, Skinning Slaughterhouse blueprints, and resource buildings like the Vineyard will be the priority for construction.

Unless Gu Xi acquired a new large building, or Di Mi required a medium construction, the construction order would generally remain unchanged.

The matter of arranging a City Gate between the Magic Plant District and the Main City District might be delayed for a while.

By this time, Gu Xi had already focused on the last expedition force.

[Description: The Main City District, Upper City District, and Pier District have been cleared. Now, the Hundred-armed Giant District’s sewers are being cleared.]

This description surprised Gu Xi; he didn’t expect the expeditions to have such continuity.

Gu Xi wondered what changes would occur once all the sewers under his control were cleared, but he always had a feeling that this sewer clearing battle was what the Barracks needed to focus on now.

The battle in the Magic Plant District was not really impactful.

Just then, Fu Gu suddenly moved. He planted a small flag at the Magic Plant District position, followed by a horn sound, as if a command had been given.

”What happened?”

Gu Xi asked.

Fu Gu then realized that Gu Xi had been standing here watching for quite a while.

”Sir, the battle over at the Magic Plant District has escalated from minor conflicts to small-scale battles. I’m worried about the lack of troops there, so I’ve dispatched a unit of Skeleton Gunners.”

”Let me see.”

Gu Xi stood at Fu Gu’s position, looking towards the sand table.

At this moment, Gu Xi felt like he was viewing his entire Yalidu City from a god’s-eye perspective.

The small flags turned into Undead Corps swiftly moving within the city.

Standing here, it felt as if the whole of Yalidu City was entirely under his control.

This feeling was quite satisfactory.

Gu Xi shifted his gaze towards the Magic Plant District area.

At this moment, behind the City Gate of the Magic Plant District, a 30-meter-high Arrow Tower had been erected. On the Arrow Tower stood 20 Skeleton Shooters, and below the tower, about 60 Skeleton Shooters were waiting.

They were preparing to go up the Arrow Tower as replacements.

This Arrow Tower was built not far from the side and behind the City Gate, but the shooting range of the Skeleton Shooters on the Arrow Tower far exceeded those standing on the City Gate.

It was evident that the Arrow Tower significantly amplified the range of the Shooters.

Meanwhile, over 300 Undead Corps gathered near the City Gate, fighting against the Anomalies pouring out continuously.

The main force on the battlefield was the Zombies with axes and shields. Although their movement speed was slow, it had to be acknowledged that they were the best choice for defense when the source of enemies was uncertain.

No matter how the enemies advanced, they could block the Anomalies outside the City Gate.

After halting the Anomalies’ advance, the Skeleton Shooters could shoot and kill these Anomalies.

Di Mi sat above the City Gate, her toes in stockings hooked into her high heels. Unless the enemies were particularly strong, she usually would not intervene.

She just watched the battle below with a smile, occasionally eating a red fruit.

But if anyone disturbed her eating, they would face Di Mi’s formidable combat power.

No Anomalies lasted more than three moves under her attacks.

After being slain, the Anomalies always left behind various items.

At that point, Skeletons would come from the rear, carrying those items away to be thrown into Withered Wood Lake.

After watching for a moment, Gu Xi understood the situation here.

In summary, the impact wasn’t significant, but it would tie up some of Gu Xi’s forces.

For this, Gu Xi wasn’t too concerned since the tied-up forces were just scattered and miscellaneous soldiers; his main forces had yet to take action.

Most importantly, the Death Incarnation was still resting in Longgu Laboratory, so he didn’t need to worry too much.
