Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 235: Chapter 233: VS Spore Cultist Charlie (75/159)

BOSS?

Westminster Cathedral Underground?

Could this be the final Tail King?

Hearing the sounds around him, a thought flashed in Gu Xi’s mind.

But upon second thought, it’s really possible.

If they killed the boss in the order of the cutscenes when they entered the dungeon, by the time they reached the Tail King, they would definitely have zigzagged and ventured deep underground.

Just defeating this Tail King Spore Cultist Charlie might reveal the underground tomb behind him, and they could leave the dungeon through this tomb.

Most dungeon designs are like this.

There is often a convenient passage for quick departure by the Tail King’s side.

No wonder when he came over, he only encountered Yin Qi illusions and was not attacked.

But this is an opportunity.

Gu Xi looked up at the constantly moving roots of the apple tree.

Now Gu Xi knows that it’s a part of the Spore Cultist Charlie’s body.

If he strikes against this thing, would he gain some information about Tail King Spore Cultist Charlie?

Gu Xi looked at the troops around him, a thought flashed in his mind.

”Master, this is very dangerous.”

Luna seemed to notice what Gu Xi intended to do, she quickly appeared in front of Gu Xi.

”It’s okay, we’re already here, I’d feel uncomfortable if I don’t take a gamble.”

As Gu Xi spoke, he waved the Cold Wind Staff in his hand.

With each wave, a batch of Flame Traps appeared on the ground before him, as well as in the cracks of the walls he stood on.

”Master, stacking so many Flame Traps, even we can’t withstand the explosion’s power.”

”It’s okay, later I’ll prepare to go underwater, the explosion won’t affect anything from there.”

As Gu Xi spoke, the Stone Golem and Corpse Poison Fly had already retreated.

Gu Xi couldn’t even retrieve the Black Apple Blossoms from the Stone Golem, and instead quickly had them fall back to the City Gate.

As for the Undead Corps Gu Xi initially set up, they were already ready for battle, with Skeleton Shooters and Skeleton Mages wielding their weapons, confronting the approaching apple tree roots.

Just when Gu Xi was preparing for battle, the Skeleton Mages in front of him suddenly made a move, they held their hands forward, making a drawing motion.

Then a blue gas appeared in their hands.

[Skeleton Mage mana extraction successful, extracted 3 points of mana from Spore Cultist Charlie!]

[...]

After thirty lines of information flashed by, Gu Xi looked up at the apple tree roots halted in mid-air, a surprised look in his eyes.

At the same time, a piece of information about Spore Cultist Charlie appeared.

[Name: Spore Cultist Charlie (BOSS)

Race: Mutated Apple Tree Second Phase Fusion Incomplete Body

Level: Level 12 (0/0)

Talent: Fanatic (For the Great Monarch, he can disregard his own life and death and has a chance to sacrifice himself to use forbidden techniques in battle)

Status: Life (10000/10000), Mana (1410/1500)

Attributes: Power 18.4, Agility 22.6, Constitution 21.2, Intelligence 15, Perception 11.4, Charm 4.2

Skills: Self-Sacrifice (20% chance to sacrifice self in battle, summoning an attack that can destroy everything at once).

Mysterious Creatures (Mysterious creatures, Mysterious Source, Giant Creatures, Roots Physical Attack, Red Thread Possession).

Twin Destruction (Unified with the apple tree on the ground; if the apple tree is destroyed, the combat power doubles).

Time Progression (Apple blossoms form fruits, the fruits will grow into minions to participate in the attack, once all minions die, their bodies serve as sacrifices to trigger an ultimate attack)].

After looking at Spore Cultist Charlie’s attributes, Gu Xi knew this guy wasn’t easy to deal with.

Moreover, Gu Xi guessed this probably wasn’t his final form.

Following the normal dungeon procedure, Gu Xi was supposed to fight from Westminster Cathedral Square, then into the church interior, beneath the apple tree, the graveyard, and finally deal with the Tail King.

According to this sequence, by the time they get under the apple tree, the apple tree will surely be destroyed.

And here is one skill, Twin Destruction, where the moment the apple tree on the ground is destroyed, the Tail King’s combat power doubles.

By then, dealing with Spore Cultist Charlie’s difficulty is not just raised by one notch.

This made Gu Xi even more keen to take advantage of this opportunity to challenge Spore Cultist Charlie.

”Be ready, waiting for orders.”

As Gu Xi spoke, he leveled the Cold Wind Staff, aiming it at the apple tree roots that paused in mid-air because of mana drainage.

At this time, the apple tree roots seemed to react too, knowing who ambushed them. They thrust forward, aiming at the Skeleton Mages.

”Shoot!”

With Gu Xi’s command, all the Skeleton Shooters and Skeleton Mages simultaneously launched a volley of shots at the charging apple tree roots.

The Skeleton Shooters’ attacks had little effect on the apple tree roots.

After the arrows hit, they only inflicted 1 point of damage. Although dozens of Skeleton Shooters attacked together, it was nothing to Spore Cultist Charlie with over ten thousand life points.

Then the Skeleton Mages’ attacks also landed on the apple tree roots.

Compared to the Skeleton Shooters, the Skeleton Mages had somewhat stronger damage.

Especially the Flame and Lightning Arrow, which could inflict 5 to 6 points of damage, and the Ice Arrow and Poison Gas Bomb, which could deal 2 to 3 points of damage.

But for Spore Cultist Charlie, with over ten thousand life points, this was also nothing.

As they suffered attacks from all directions, the speed of the apple tree roots lurching forward instead quickened by quite a bit.

After the Skeleton Shooters and Skeleton Mages attacked for two waves, Gu Xi understood the enemy’s situation.

Ten thousand life points.

This wasn’t necessarily the most difficult to deal with, piling up soldiers would lead to a day when the enemy is ground down.

The issue now is, the opponent’s Defense Power is extremely high.

In Gu Xi’s view, the Skeleton Shooters’ and Skeleton Mages’ attacks were actually ineffective against the enemy’s defense.

This also showed how powerful Spore Cultist Charlie was.

He hadn’t even acted fully yet, only using the Roots Physical Attack from the Mysterious Creatures trait.

If he uses any of his other skills, Gu Xi’s soldiers definitely can’t stand and attack like now.

It seems necessary to find another way to deal with Spore Cultist Charlie.

As Gu Xi thought this, the front-line Skeleton Gunners suddenly stepped forward.

Their long spears simultaneously thrust at the apple tree roots, blocking the roots’ attack on the Skeleton Mages.

The Skeleton Gunners were all level 4 entities, which under Gu Xi’s command, were considered not weak troops.

But in front of the apple tree roots, they had no advantage.

When the long spears stabbed the apple tree roots, they only inflicted 1 point of damage.

However, with one horizontal sweep of the apple tree roots, at least a dozen Skeleton Gunners would be shattered to pieces.

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi decisively gave a new order.

”Retreat!”
