The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

”From the very start of the case, the person who discovered the mysterious village hidden deep in the mountains was him.”

”The person who devised the meticulous capture plan, ensuring the operation’s infallibility, was him.”

”The person who later found the hit-and-run vehicle amidst the vast traffic flow was him.”

”The person who ultimately secured the driver’s evidence of the crime and broke through the suspect’s psychological defenses was still him.”

”Whether it’s the foresight of investigative thinking, the proficiency of investigative techniques, or the rigor of evidence preservation, I feel he far surpasses me.”

”Really?”

Mr Yang’s tone conveyed clear surprise, ”I’ve heard of Jiang An’s outstanding abilities in criminal investigation and case-solving early on, but I didn’t expect such high praise from you.”

”This has completely convinced me—in my eyes, you are already considered one of the top criminal investigation experts in the province, otherwise the provincial office wouldn’t have specifically named you to lead this provincial tour of difficult case-solving guidance.”

”Moreover, from what I know of you, you’re always meticulous, never easily giving such a high evaluation.”

As he spoke, Mr Yang’s mouth curved in a smile, and his eyes showed approval as he slowly said, ”Director Hou, since you put it that way, then this comrade’s level must be exceptionally high.”

Upon hearing this, Director Hou laughed heartily, waving his hands repeatedly, ”Haha, not just exceptionally high.”

”Mr Yang, you haven’t seen his analytical process and site control capability firsthand, that thought process and decisiveness leave me far behind.”

”Watching from the side, I couldn’t help but want to give him a big thumbs up.”

Mr Yang’s eyes were bright, he slapped the table forcefully, and said in a loud voice, ”Good! Well done!”

”Such talent is precisely the valuable asset our team needs most.”

”We must not only cherish but also strongly reward and let everyone see that effort and ability will be recognized.”

”I’ll personally coordinate to implement your individual second-class merits this time, without any delay.”

Upon hearing this, Director Hou slightly restrained his smile and sincerely responded, ”Mr Yang, earning merits and awards is secondary.”

”To be honest, the greatest gain from participating in this case’s investigation isn’t the merits recognition or even solving the case, but that during this process, we saved many innocent lives, giving them a chance to start anew.”

”Whenever I think of this, I feel very at peace.”

Having heard this, Mr Yang took a deep breath, his expression becoming more solemn.

He nodded, his tone low and firm, ”You’re right, Director Hou.”

”Being able to give victims an answer and restore peace to society might be more important than catching the culprit or uncovering the truth itself.”

”You’ve done excellently, very outstanding.”

After a slight pause, he continued, ”However, coming next, there’s a tricky task that might require you to take it on.”

”This case is more complex and more urgent than the current one.”

”Do we have to go now?”

Upon hearing this, Director Hou couldn’t help but be a little surprised, half-jokingly teasing, ”Mr Yang, even the production team’s donkey can’t work non-stop like this, haha.”

Mr Yang laughed as well, his tone somewhat relaxed, ”Don’t worry, I’m kidding with you.”

”You guys come back first, we’ve already arranged a welcome and celebration for you, with some drinks, have a good rest.”

”The reason for bringing up this case early is that its case location is right on your way back, passing by the provincial office, within East City’s boundaries.”

”East City?” Director Hou said with a hint of questioning in his tone.

”Yes,” Mr Yang said solemnly, ”that case has troubled the local police for a long time without any breakthroughs.”

”People there are getting anxious, and the social impact is quite poor.”

”To the point where due to the prolonged lack of progress, various bizarre rumors have started circulating among the populace, growing increasingly absurd.”

”We urgently need an experienced and capable team to step in, quickly stabilize the situation and uncover the truth.”

Upon hearing this, Director Hou seemed ignited with fighting spirit, becoming instantly energized, with gleaming eyes of excitement.

He leaned slightly forward, ”From what you say, this case is indeed no simple matter, layered and intertwined, quite complex.”

”But that’s okay, the more complex the case, the more it fuels our determination!”

”I’ve just carefully read the case report you submitted; the case-solving ideas within are ingeniously designed, tightly logical, and methodically arranged. Especially the ’triangle fixation’ evidence technique you used to cleverly link seemingly unrelated clues, forming a complete evidence loop, truly brilliant!”

”With you two teaming up—one meticulous and the other bold yet cautious, it’s simply the criminal investigation world’s ’dual sword unity’.”

”I believe that no matter how bizarre or mystical the case appears, in front of you, it will ultimately be solved.”

His tone grew more resolute, filled with trust and anticipation in his voice, ”Return now, honor awaits you, and the celebration banquet has long been prepared.”

”More importantly, there are more such difficult cases waiting for you to solve and conquer!”

At noon exactly, the vehicle slowly exited the expressway entrance and turned onto the city’s main road.

Not long after, the provincial criminal investigation team’s gates came into view.

To Director Hou’s surprise, two familiar figures stood grandly at the entrance.

Mr Yang of the criminal investigation team and Director Liu were accompanying by the side.

Rather than being busy with duties as usual, they were quietly standing at the door as if waiting for someone.
