The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Two minutes later, the container truck stopped at the gate.

Immediately, a little girl with a ponytail stood by the gate and suddenly shouted, ”Uncle Three is back, Uncle Three is back!”

Before her words had fallen, Political Commissioner Li decisively issued the order: ”Action!”

In an instant, the rear door of the vehicle exploded open, and more than thirty heavily armed special police officers leaped out like arrows from a bow.

They wore bulletproof helmets and carried standard long rifles, moving with uniform precision, quickly forming two tactical groups, advancing like pincers along the mottled wall.

Their footsteps were dense yet orderly, and in the blink of an eye, they formed an impenetrable net around the courtyard.

Jiang An, Director Hou, Mr. Qin, and Political Commissioner Li simultaneously revealed their handguns, the crisp sound of bullets loading echoed.

With a loud ”bang,” two special police officers simultaneously exerted force, and the wooden fence of the gate shattered instantly.

Amidst flying wood chips, the little girl was frightened by the sudden change and burst into tears.

But at this moment, no one could afford to comfort her, as six figures swiftly darted into the courtyard like leopards.

In the middle of the yard’s living room, an elderly man with gray hair was eating from a bowl.

Startled by the commotion, he turned his head in surprise, and upon seeing the scene before him, he froze completely.

The coarse pottery bowl slipped from his trembling hand, shattering into pieces with a ”snap.”

Just then, a woman’s deep voice sounded from upstairs: ”Who scared my daughter into crying?”

Political Commissioner Li made a quick step forward, pointing his gun toward the direction of the voice, while making tactical hand gestures to the officers on both sides.

The special police immediately sought cover, all gun barrels simultaneously aimed at the second floor, on guard against potential sniper shots.

”You are under arrest.”

Political Commissioner Li pronounced each word clearly.

The elderly man across remained silent, finally only lifting his eyes to say, ”Everything was planned by me alone, it has nothing to do with the children... They are still young and don’t understand anything.”

”Please... don’t trouble them.”

As soon as the words fell, Mr. Qin and Political Commissioner Li exchanged a glance, a hint of surprise flashing in their eyes.

The old man before them appeared exceptionally calm, a calmness that felt unsettling.

A mastermind behind suspected trafficking charges, was he really surrendering so easily?

Did this conceal a trap they hadn’t yet discovered?

In the moment when alarm bells rang faintly in their hearts, Wu Guang spoke again, his tone nearly pleading: ”Can I... before you take me away, at least hold my granddaughter once more?”

”She’s just to your right, too scared to move at all.”

He directed his gaze to the right side, where a sparse peach tree stood, behind which a rusty iron can was faintly seen.

Political Commissioner Li’s heart stirred.

He himself was soon to become a grandfather, well comprehending that cross-generational affection.

After pondering briefly, he finally nodded, his tone severe yet not without warmth: ”Okay, but quickly, don’t waste time.”

”Thank you.”

Wu Guang responded softly, then gently called out toward the peach tree’s direction: ”Xiaoyuan... Xiaoyuan, come over to Grandpa, don’t be afraid, it’s okay, everything will be okay.”

Before his words fell, the little girl timidly ran out from behind the tree, directly into the old man’s embrace.

Wu Guang held his granddaughter tightly, while secretly slipping his hand into his pocket, retrieving a phone with a peculiar shape.

Without a sound, he adjusted the angle, bringing the phone to his eye level, softly saying: ”Come, Grandpa and you take another photo... just as a keepsake.”

At that moment, Jiang An, who had been intently observing, suddenly noticed something amiss.

That phone seemed different from ordinary smart devices, with a short antenna extending from the side, almost undetectable unless closely examined.

Almost instinctively, his gaze quickly shifted to the inconspicuous iron can beside the peach tree.

In the same instant, he caught a fleeting smile on the old man’s face.

Jiang An’s pupils constricted sharply as he yelled with all his might: ”Everyone, attention! Immediately dive to the left! There’s a bomb on the right side!”

This cry pierced through the tense air like a thunderbolt, drawing everyone’s gaze to him in an instant.

In that critical moment, all those trained swiftly dove to the left, driven by survival instinct.

Almost simultaneously, several dull thuds sounded - the quickest responders had already hit the ground heavily.

Just as their bodies touched the earth, a huge ”boom” erupted, the bomb on the right side exploded violently.

Fiery airwaves, carrying debris and dust, swept toward every corner.

Seizing the chaos amidst the mayhem, Wu Guang quickly picked up the little girl and ran indoors.

Although the bomb’s yield wasn’t large, the explosion’s shockwave still left everyone present with splitting headaches.

The intense trembling made several people unable to regain their senses for a while, the dense smoke further obscuring vision, making it difficult to discern the surroundings.

Political Commissioner Li and Director Hou bravely endured the discomfort, immediately shouting loudly in the smoke: ”Is anyone injured? Report the situation!”

”No severe injuries... just very dizzy...”

”Visibility is completely blocked, the smoke is too thick!”

Directly taking action, Political Commissioner Li grabbed the walkie-talkie, issuing orders in a calm yet urgent tone: ”Attention all units! Suspect Wu Guang is escaping, likely armed with firearms and explosives.”

”Repeat, suspect is armed, all groups must maintain highest alert and ensure safety!”

This command instantly propelled the surrounding tactical officers into combat mode.

Well-familiar with dealing with dangerous individuals, they understood perfectly that fugitives pushed to the brink often act extremely.
