The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Immediately, Political Commissioner Li spoke: ”Mr. Qin, please lead your team to the driver’s residence for the arrest immediately, ensuring the operation is swift and foolproof.”

Mr. Qin nodded resolutely and replied: ”Yes! I’ll head out right away.”

”This time, we must apprehend the killer and cannot let him roam free any longer!”

At this moment, he was filled with ambition and determination to win.

Political Commissioner Li walked forward slowly, gently patted Mr. Qin on the shoulder, and said earnestly: ”Capability leads to opportunity. As long as you persist on this administrative path and are willing to contribute, you will reap the deserved rewards.”

Mr. Qin nodded solemnly in response: ”I understand, Commissioner. Thank you for your encouragement!”

He then didn’t delay any further and immediately started the police car, leading his team swiftly away from the scene towards the target location.

Subsequently, Jiang An joined Director Hou and Political Commissioner Li in meticulous measurement work.

Jiang An, holding a professional measuring stick, bent down in front of the car and measured three key parts meticulously.

First, he measured the distance from the apex to the top end of the left line, and reported after careful verification: ”The distance from the apex to the top end of the left line is 47 centimeters.”

Then, he moved the measuring stick to the right side, repeated the same steps, and confirmed: ”The right side is also 47 centimeters, the data on both ends is consistent.”

Finally, he precisely measured the distance between the two parallel lines, and said steadily: ”The distance between the two parallel lines is 29 centimeters.”

Director Hou, holding a notebook, carefully recorded each piece of data, afraid of missing any details.

Jiang An stood up, clapped the dust off his hands, and said solemnly: ”So far, these data are very clear.”

”I believe our next step should be to proceed to the laboratory immediately for precise measurements of White Bone’s related data.”

”If the data on both sides matches highly, then we can basically determine that this car is the suspect vehicle that hit the victim’s chest—the degree of deformation at the front of the car completely matches the trauma shape of the victim’s chest.”

Director Hou, after listening, strongly agreed: ”Okay, let’s set off.”

”The laboratory is ready, and we aim to obtain comparison results as soon as possible.”

The two then packed up their tools and quickly headed towards another official vehicle, preparing to proceed to the laboratory for the next step of skeletal measurement work.

Hearing this, Political Commissioner Li’s face immediately showed a satisfied smile.

He raised his head and said with a hint of excitement: ”If this data can be perfectly matched, it would greatly aid our interrogation work!”

”It would not only significantly shorten the interrogation period but also provide solid scientific evidence at critical points, making the entire evidence chain more complete and credible.”

Director Hou also nodded repeatedly and added with deep agreement: ”Indeed.”

Upon arriving at the laboratory building, as the three pushed open the door and entered the clean, bright experimental area, two staff dressed in white lab coats came up to meet them.

The lab technician continued reporting: ”Political Commissioner Li, as per your requirements, all measurement tools and related equipment have been prepared and arranged strictly according to standard human anatomical spacing.”

”We paid special attention to the corresponding parts during setup, striving to keep operational errors to a minimum.”

”Very well, the preparations are well done.”

Political Commissioner Li nodded with satisfaction, then turned to Jiang An: ”Mr. Jiang, I’ll trouble you, as a forensic expert, to help oversee and verify if their setup meets the standard requirements.”

Guided by the lab technician, the three of them traversed the tidy passage and arrived at the evidence examination room inside.

On the spacious examination table, a complete human skeletal specimen was prominently displayed—skull, cervical vertebra, thoracic vertebra, ribs, and other main skeletal components, all precisely arranged according to human anatomical structure, lacking only the limbs parts.

After observing for a moment, Jiang An nodded affirmatively: ”From the current setup, the relative positions and spatial relationships of each skeletal component fully conform to the standard of normal human anatomical structure, and the preparation work is quite professional.”

Immediately after, Jiang An deftly put on latex gloves, gazed at the two beside him with a serious expression: ”Since the equipment is all set, we shouldn’t delay, let’s start measuring right away.”

Before his words finished, he bent down and picked up the steel ruler gleaming silver, carefully aiming the end at the middle of the cranial apex, and measured slowly along the upper edge of the cranial fracture line.

”72 centimeters from the apex to the upper end of the left fracture line.”

Jiang An calmly reported the first piece of data.

The steel ruler then moved to the right side, and measured again along the nearly symmetrical fracture line marks.

”Right side... also 72 centimeters, not a millimeter off.”

This result made Director Hou and Political Commissioner Li glance at each other, a hint of surprise flashing in their eyes.

Political Commissioner Li leaned forward slightly, staring at the White Bone, murmuring in a low voice: ”This... this is a perfect match.”

Jiang An didn’t look up; the steel ruler in his hand had already moved to the lower end of the fracture line: ”From the depressed fracture at the top to the crushing fracture area at the bottom, the data precisely aligns.”

He paused momentarily and added: ”I measured entirely according to the anatomical landmarks, each step striving for precision, keeping errors within a millimeter level.”

”We are not questioning your measurement accuracy,” Director Hou, stroking his chin, pondered thoughtfully, ”but we are wondering, with such perfect data matching, does it suggest that at the moment of impact, the victim’s displacement was minimal? Almost taking the full impact in place?”
