The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

”This is the final warning! I repeat, get off the car immediately, squat down and hold your head!”

”Otherwise, we will enforce measures according to the law, and you will bear the consequences!”

As soon as the words fell, Lao San on the driver’s seat suddenly pushed the car door open and jumped out in one swift move.

His movements were frantic yet exceptionally quick, tightly gripping the dark handgun, first with the muzzle heavily planting on the ground.

Then, like discarding a hot potato, he tossed the gun into the roadside bushes.

After completing this series of actions, he immediately squatted with hands on head by the roadside, his entire body trembling slightly.

Almost at the same moment, the man in the passenger seat staggered out of the car.

He first glanced around in panic, then without hesitation mirrored Lao San’s actions — gun inverted, tossed, squatted, each step identical as if rehearsed countless times.

This sudden change caught the escort motorcyclists off guard.

Originally gripping their guns firmly, vigilantly observing the road back and forth, they now stared at each other in confusion.

After just ten seconds of hesitation, they successively made the same decision.

Guns were thrown aside by the road, producing dull metallic clinks, and then all squatted uniformly by the roadside, forming a row of dejected silhouettes.

At the exact moment the last motorcyclist squatted, Political Commissioner Li and Director Hou acted decisively, giving an order as the SWAT team dashed out from concealment like arrows, swiftly taking control of the four.

The trained SWAT team moved cleanly and efficiently, instantly cuffing the four.

Despite having secured the scene, the SWAT team remained highly vigilant.

A small squad immediately approached the vehicle’s cabin with guns drawn, two-person teams mutually covering each other, cautiously inspecting every corner of the car.

After confirming no other personnel or dangerous items were inside, the leading SWAT officer signaled ”safe” to Political Commissioner Li.

Only then did Political Commissioner Li, with steady steps, walk to the roadside, his gaze sweeping over the squatting four, ”How many people in the car? Male or female?”

Lao San raised his head tremblingly, voice choking with sobs: ”They’re all female, a total of 6!”

”Where’s the key?”

”The key is in my bag...”

Lao San, using his handcuffed hands, difficultly retrieved a bunch of keys from his pocket, offering them up with both hands, ”Comrade officer, we are just responsible for transportation, really not the planners!”

Political Commissioner Li took the keys, saying: ”I don’t care whether you are the planners, the most important thing now is clarifying the facts!”

”If you can actively cooperate, assist us in finding more clues, rescuing more victims, we will definitely strive for leniency for you according to the law!”

At this moment, Jiang An and Qin Shuang arrived at the scene, out of breath.

Seeing the four already captured, no gunfire at the scene, Jiang An finally felt relieved.

He secretly let out a sigh, sweat from running still on his forehead.

These desperados all held standard weapons, had they resisted stubbornly, every officer present could have faced a life-threatening situation.

In every gun-related case investigation, every officer hopes for a smooth resolution, but even more so wishes every colleague can return home safely.

For at the police station they are people’s officers, but at home they are the sole support for their families.

As the criminal investigation team leader, Jiang An understands more than anyone the importance of this truth.

At this time, Political Commissioner Li and Director Hou turned around, seeing the two who arrived, simultaneously showing gratifying smiles.

Political Commissioner Li first spoke: ”Well done! You two truly achieved great accomplishments this time!”

Director Hou followed with a rare light tone in his voice: ”Originally thought this was just a routine clue check, yet unexpectedly we caught a big fish!”

”This successful roundup opens a significant breakthrough for our subsequent deep investigations!”

Jiang An’s gaze then turned to the rusty container, eyebrows knitting slightly, a hint of gravity in his tone: ”Confirmed there are 6 people inside?”

”Open the door immediately!”

Political Commissioner Li spoke solemnly.

Instantly, a series of uniform weapon cocking sounds erupted all around, SWAT officers rapidly spread out, forming a tactical formation surrounding the container.

Political Commissioner Li nodded to a fully armed officer beside him, who immediately leapt onto the truck, hands tightly grasping the container’s rear door handle.

At this moment, the air seemed to freeze.

Everyone’s gaze focused on that iron door about to open, with only the sound of night wind whistling past remaining at the scene.

With a ”clack” crisp metallic noise, the heavy iron door opened on cue.

Inside the dim container, 6 women with hands tied behind were curled up in the corner, each with thick gauze stuffed in their mouths, messy hair stuck to tear-stained faces.

When the sudden light illuminated the container, 6 pairs of eyes simultaneously widened, pupils filled with terror and helplessness.

They unknowingly shrank back, emitting indistinct whimpers.

Political Commissioner Li stepped forward swiftly, bending slightly, speaking with the gentlest tone possible: ”Don’t be afraid, we’re officers, you’re safe now!”

This sentence was like sunshine in winter, instantly melting the fear in their eyes.

The terrified expressions on 6 faces gradually dissolved, replaced by a flood of tears.

SWAT officers quickly approached, gently undoing their bindings and removing the gauze from their mouths.

At the moment of regaining freedom, repressed sobs finally erupted, choked cries of ”thank you” emerged one after another.
