The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Then, Mr. Qin turned to Jiang An and asked, ”Political Commissioner Li, our preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect vehicle is indeed a local plated large truck, but it seems that the lead cuts off here due to the limited number of vehicles inside the fruit wholesale market.”

”Do you think we need to broaden the scope of our investigation?”

Upon hearing this, Political Commissioner Li slightly turned his body, first resting his gaze on Director Hou’s face, then turning to Jiang An, seemingly waiting for his opinion.

Jiang An thought for a moment, then seriously nodded in response: ”I suggest we expand the investigation to include all local plated large trucks registered in the entire city.”

”Limiting our search to the fruit wholesale market is indeed too narrow, and we might miss key clues.”

”We cannot exclude the possibility that locally registered long-distance trucks, which are not usually stationed at the market, may also be involved.”

”Makes sense!”

Mr. Qin’s eyes flashed with a hint of agreement. While nodding, he added: ”Although this would significantly increase the workload and complicate the process, the accuracy of a comprehensive investigation is evidently higher than missing clues, and it would improve our chances of catching a key flaw.”

Political Commissioner Li immediately expressed his stance: ”That’s right, Mr. Jiang’s suggestion is very practical and aligns with the logic of the clues we currently have.”

”I agree, let’s proceed in this direction.”

Mr. Qin immediately said: ”Alright, I’ll organize personnel right away to initiate a mass inspection of all large trucks in the city.”

”We can inform these vehicles to report to the designated vehicle management office under the pretense of ’annual centralized inspection’.”

”This way, we can both avoid raising suspicion and complete the investigation within a legal and compliant framework; what do you think?”

The three exchanged glances, unanimously nodding their approval.

Jiang An further supplemented: ”This method is indeed secure.”

”Using inspection as a pretext neither alerts the suspects nor allows us to conduct a detailed check on each vehicle.”

”With proper organization, I believe we can quickly filter out valuable leads.”

”Good, we should not delay. I will make arrangements now.”

Mr. Qin was swift and efficient, ”I’ll immediately contact each division to initiate notifications, and also coordinate with the traffic department to ensure all target vehicles report to the vehicle management office for inspection on schedule.”

At this moment, Mr. Qin felt a surge of motivation, full of confidence and vigor.

For him, this was not just about solving a case but also a significant test and opportunity in his career.

Twenty minutes later, Mr. Qin arrived at the traffic police unit and detailed the case progress and Jiang An’s arrangements in the captain’s office.

The traffic police captain was very positive after listening: ”I will arrange for the vehicle management office to notify all locally registered large trucks, asking them to gather at the office as soon as possible. We will fully cooperate.”

Mr. Qin sincerely thanked: ”Thank you so much.”

”Hey!”

The traffic police captain smiled and patted Mr. Qin on the shoulder, ”Mr. Qin, we’re old classmates.”

”Back in police academy, we trained in the same squad, right? This is just a small effort.”

”To be honest, though our roles in traffic police and criminal police are usually distinct, and chances for cooperation are rare, we have always had good synergy whenever we work together; it’s like achieving the same goal by different means!”

Mr. Qin also laughed, with some sentiment in his tone: ”Old classmate, with just this one case collaboration, you’re able to articulate such insightful thoughts, impressive!”

”Haha, it’s not flattery, just the truth.”

”In solving cases, I have great confidence in the cooperation between our departments.”

Subsequently, the staff at the vehicle management office contacted each owner and driver of locally registered large trucks to inform them to promptly gather at the office based on the vehicle registration information in the system.

By noon the next day, Mr. Qin received a call from the person in charge of the vehicle management office: ”Mr. Qin, most of the notified vehicles have arrived; when will you start the inspection?”

”However, some vehicles may have transport assignments, so please try to hurry.”

Mr. Qin immediately responded: ”We’ll head over right away; this matter indeed can’t be delayed.”

Subsequently, Mr. Qin, Jiang An, Political Commissioner Li, and Director Hou, four people in total, swiftly headed to the vehicle management office parking lot, carrying relevant equipment.

It was already past three in the afternoon when they arrived, with the sun slanting down as it was setting.

The four of them stood at the entrance of the parking lot; in front of them lay dozens of large trucks, neatly aligned, creating quite a spectacle.

Director Hou, gazing at this ”steel jungle,” couldn’t help but exclaim: ”This is quite a number.”

Jiang An nodded, speaking in a steady tone: ”Indeed, given so many trucks, our detailed inspection of each represents a significant workload, so we need to act quickly and split up.”

At this moment, Mr. Qin put down the measuring device, straightened up, and said in a calm yet resolute tone: ”No problem, such a large workload is well worth it if it means finding the truth.”

”Every detail could be the key to solving the case, so we must not slack off.”

Political Commissioner Li, upon hearing this, turned to look at Mr. Qin with a slight smile on his lips.

”Mr. Qin, ever since the organization promised you the deputy director position, your work enthusiasm and dedication have noticeably increased, haha!”

”It seems like this incentive mechanism really bears immediate fruit.”

His tone carried a hint of teasing, yet it also conveyed genuine admiration.

Mr. Qin smiled sheepishly, adjusting the safety helmet on his head: ”Political Commissioner Li, you’re flattering me.”
