Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”What big trouble can one child cause?” Yan Huan couldn’t imagine and thought An Hao was exaggerating.

Ning Chenyang is indeed a naughty child, but aren’t all smart and clever children mischievous when they’re young?

”I heard he wanted to assemble a gun himself, even disassembling parts from the guns in the army. Qin Jian punished him by making him stand, and he still didn’t comply, trying to climb over the wall to escape. This really angered Qin Jian, and he plans to discipline him well this holiday.” An Hao said it calmly, but in her heart, she’s lost count of how many times she’s felt pain. After all, this is her child, and facing military-style training from a young age worries her that he may not be able to handle it.

”He really did that?” Yan Huan gasped, then after a while, she gave a thumbs-up, ”Is this kid planning to poke a hole in the sky?”

”That’s why Qin Jian plans to deal with him!” An Hao sighed. He was such a well-behaved and adorable little guy when he was young, not talking much, so cute.

How did he grow up to be such a complete little troublemaker?

”My poor godson, he does need to be dealt with! Oh, by the way, when I get married in October, I’ll bring these two little guys back, let them carry my bridal bundle, and let them both guard my wedding bed! I also want to have such adorable little ones.” Yan Huan said.

”Sure. That request must be fulfilled for you,” An Hao readily agreed.

.........

After parting with Yan Huan, An Hao took two sets of clothes home, thinking about Ning Chenguang on the way.

After Chenyang comes back, he’ll go straight to Hongxing Primary School, but Ning Chenguang will have to attend school in the village. The education in the city is incomparable to that in the village.

She doesn’t even know how long it will take for Chenguang’s illness to get better, she doesn’t want her son to stay in the village forever, she feels guilty towards her son in the past six months.

Although He Fusheng’s family treats Ning Chenguang like a son, she ultimately feels there’s an emotional void as a mother, her maternal love cannot be fully given to her son, making her feel sad and a little regretful.

With these thoughts in her mind, An Hao unconsciously reached home, and just as she was turning the key to open the door, a dark-skinned little figure darted in front of her, shouting loudly, almost making her drop everything she was holding.

”Mom! I’m back!” Ning Chenyang jumped into her arms, his voice filled with excitement, like a bird returning to its nest, hugging his mother tightly, unwilling to let go.

”Yangyang, quick, let mom look at you!” An Hao held her son, her heart instantly filled with joy. She squatted down to examine him, noticing his little face was tanned, his cheeks had thinned significantly, and even his palms felt much rougher.

He looked just like a child coming out of a refugee camp, where did her chubby little Chenyang go?

An Hao’s eyes moistened, and she lifted her head, looking with reproach and dissatisfaction at Qin Jian standing beside her son.

”Mom, why are you crying?” Ning Chenyang saw the tears welling up in An Hao’s eyes, raised his small hand to gently wipe them away, ”Aren’t you happy I’m back?”

”Of course, I’m happy! These are tears of joy!” An Hao tightly embraced her son, kissed his forehead, and asked, ”What do you want for dinner? Mom will make it for you.”
