Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”It’s nothing. Just some minor injuries and a broken leg, everything else is fine,” Ji Chuan said nonchalantly.

”What do you mean ’just’ a broken leg? What more do you want?” Yan Huan frowned angrily and punched Ji Chuan’s chest, causing him to cough repeatedly.

”Hey, could you be a bit gentler? With hands like this, are you trying to murder your husband?” Ji Chuan raised his hand to rub his chest, speaking with a mischievous tone.

”Just now you looked half-dead, and now you’re talking like this! It’s really annoying!” Yan Huan pouted.

”Alright, stop being contradictory. Who was it that was so worried on the way over, telling me to speed up? And now you’re saying someone is annoying...” Yan Ye teased his sister relentlessly, though his intentions were good.

”Of course, I know. Yan Huan is just that adorable. No matter what he says, I like it.”

”Alright, since I know you’re fine, I’m relieved. I won’t disturb you two any longer, leaving you some time to be lovey-dovey.” Yan Ye was quite perceptive.

Seeing the two of them wanting to be affectionate but holding back, he, as the future brother-in-law, quickly found an excuse to leave.

After all, they hadn’t seen each other for a month, and there was a deep misunderstanding between them before. They had argued and quarreled, and finally reunited. Shouldn’t they be given some time to be affectionate??

”Thanks, brother. So, where are you going?” Yan Huan showed no hesitation when Yan Ye said he was leaving.

”Of course, I have to find a place to stay!” Yan Ye looked at his sister with a helpless smile, ”You are something else. As soon as you see Ji Chuan, you forget all about me, like I’ve been sent off to Java! I’ve been driving all night on high alert; I need to find a place to rest!”

”Alright, brother, you hurry up then! Oh, and when you come over tomorrow morning, remember to get us breakfast. The food in the hospital is terrible.” Yan Huan quickly reminded Yan Ye.

”You must truly care about your dear brother!” Yan Ye laughed, ”Alright, I’m off. You two get some rest early.”

”Thank you, Yan Ye. Be careful on the road, take your time coming tomorrow morning. Rest well before coming,” Ji Chuan said gratefully.

”See, my brother-in-law is more considerate.” Yan Ye joked as he left.

After Yan Ye left, Yan Huan anxiously started to undress Ji Chuan.

”Honey, what are you doing? We haven’t seen each other for a month, and just when we meet, you’re all eager to undress me! Tell me, are you planning to engage in some activities not suitable for children...” Ji Chuan watched Yan Huan with a teasing smile.

But Yan Huan ignored him, focusing on opening his hospital gown.

She saw his chest covered with all sorts of cuts, some even exposing bright red flesh.

Her eyes welled up again, ”I knew you had more injuries, or else when I lightly punched you just now, why did your expression look so painful!”

Ji Chuan held her hand, clasping it, ”It’s nothing, these are all just surface wounds. They’ll heal in a few days. It’s just the leg that’s going to be more troublesome. It’ll probably be a few months before I can move easily again.”
