Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

During the surgery just now, Dr. Lin conducted a very meticulous exploration, she is confident in her surgical skills.

However, the patient is now vomiting blood.

”But what should we do now? Should we give the patient a barium meal?” This was a method in the 1990s for checking digestive tract bleeding.

”But the patient is still under anesthesia, even if he wakes up...”

”Let’s call Ji Chuan over.” Deputy Director Lin considered comprehensively and decided to have someone call Ji Chuan.

Ji Chuan is almost ten years younger than her, but this young man is much more skilled, has seen many different surgical scenarios, and most importantly, Ji Chuan remains extremely calm no matter what happens.

In a short period, he can make the most accurate judgment, which is an invaluable quality.

”Okay. I’ll go right away.”

After barely resting for three hours, Ji Chuan was forcibly awakened by Lei Linxuan.

He sat up and rubbed his sleepy eyes, seeing Lei Linxuan’s apologetic and concerned expression: ”What’s wrong? Is there an emergency?”

”Dr. Ji, please come quickly. We just performed an emergency surgery, and afterwards the elderly patient suddenly started vomiting blood heavily... We already did an exploratory laparotomy, but with this situation, we are a bit unsure.” Lei Linxuan said.

”I’m on my way.” Ji Chuan vigorously rubbed his cheeks with both hands, quickly got up, and followed Lei Linxuan to the surgery tent.

Upon entering, all the doctors in the tent seemed to find their backbone.

All eyes turned towards him.

”Director Ji.” Dr. Lin stepped forward, wanting to brief him on the situation.

”I already know, Dr. Lei has told me. Don’t rush, let me take a look at the situation, then decide whether or not the patient needs a second exploratory laparotomy.” As Ji Chuan spoke, he put on rubber gloves and seriously examined the patient.

During this inspection, blood continuously flowed from the mouth, and it was getting worse.

”Give me a surgical clamp.” Ji Chuan requested.

Deputy Director Lin quickly handed over a surgical clamp and stood quietly beside Ji Chuan to watch his operation.

He accepted the clamp, picked up a piece of gauze, and gently wiped the patient’s mouth, then switched to a new piece of gauze.

After using two or three pieces of gauze, Ji Chuan clearly saw blood steadily flowing from the mouth.

”Mandibular vascular tumor rupture in the oral cavity, causing massive bleeding! Prepare for surgery!” Ji Chuan calmly ordered.

Hearing Ji Chuan’s words, everyone present let out a sigh of relief.

”Director Ji, why did you first consider it was an issue with the oral cavity? We’ve hardly ever encountered such a situation before.” Deputy Director Lin asked admiringly.

”I encountered this situation once before. After listening to Dr. Lei’s brief surgical analysis, I had a rough idea and decided to test it. If it wasn’t this issue, then we’d consider other possibilities!”

”Thank goodness you came!”

”Everyone will have experience next time. Let’s begin the surgery!” Ji Chuan instructed.

”Yes!”

The surgery proceeded for some time, and after the sutures were completed, Ji Chuan lifted his head, seeing golden stars sparkling, which made him feel a bit dizzy.
