Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”It must hurt a lot.” Yan Huan gently touched the edge of the wound with her fingers, ”Even a small injury makes me feel like I’m in terrible pain, and you have wounds all over, how could it not hurt?”

Ji Chuan looked at Yan Huan’s damp eyes, a warm feeling surged in his heart: ”It doesn’t hurt, it really doesn’t hurt at all. After all, as a big man, can I be as afraid of pain as you young girls? Don’t worry!”

”What a pity... Such good skin, and now it’s covered with scars big and small, just thinking about it makes me feel so sad!” Yan Huan murmured.

”I’m a big man, what do I need such good skin for!” Ji Chuan laughed, even at this moment, Yan Huan was still worried about whether his skin was good or not, ”Actually, I’ve always felt that my skin was too fair. I think for a man, he should be a bit rugged, and your scars actually make me look more manly. It’s said that scars are a man’s badge of honor! Yan Huan, this is my honor!”

”Nonsense! Who said you need scars to be manly?” Yan Huan looked up at him, admiration shining in her eyes, ”In my eyes, you’re a manly man through and through! With or without those scars!”

”Sweetheart, your words are truly touching!” Ji Chuan’s smile reached almost to his ears.

”Everything I say is from the heart.” Yan Huan’s face turned slightly red.

”I hope one day I can hear these heartfelt words always.” Ji Chuan reached out and pulled Yan Huan into his arms, ”It’s so good to see you again!”

Yan Huan rested her head on his chest, listening to his strong, lively heartbeat, she closed her eyes peacefully with a slight smile on her lips, and softly said, ”I think it’s great too! All our past conflicts are behind us, let’s not upset each other anymore, okay!”

”Absolutely!” Ji Chuan nodded, speaking earnestly, ”I apologize for everything that happened before...”

”You don’t need to apologize anymore, you’ve said that many times before. Actually, I made mistakes too. If I could trust you completely, maybe we wouldn’t have had so many troubles. Ji Chuan, you know, when I saw you on TV, unconscious, at that moment I was really afraid of losing you...” If Ji Chuan had really been lost, Yan Huan wouldn’t know what to do.

”I was very scared too. When the big rock fell, my first thought was, I might never see you again... At that moment, I was really scared. I’ve never known the meaning of fear in all these years, but at that moment, I was afraid...”

”It’s all in the past, all in the past...” Yan Huan gently patted Ji Chuan’s shoulder, ”It’s okay now...”

Ji Chuan nodded, he thought for a moment and then asked Yan Huan a question: ”Suppose in this accident, I didn’t make it, what would you do?”

”Don’t ask such stupid questions, there’s no such assumption!” Yan Huan couldn’t even imagine days without him.

She didn’t want to answer such questions either!

”What if I insist on asking?”

”Okay... then I’ll tell you. I would never marry...”

”Really... really?” This truly surprised Ji Chuan.

”Of course!” She had actually thought about this on the car.

If Ji Chuan didn’t make it, what would she do? This was the answer!
