Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Her movements were quite large, causing Ji Chuan, who was still asleep, to wake up as well. He opened his eyes and saw that the doctors were doing their rounds.

”You’re here...” Ji Chuan greeted his colleagues while lying down.

However, the chief physician looked sternly at Yan Huan and began to criticize, ”What’s going on with you, young lady? Why are you sharing a bed with the patient?”

Yan Huan, who was still half-asleep, got forcibly woken up and her mind was not clear yet. Seeing the doctors staring at her frightened her to a blank state: ”Ah... This, this is my fiancé.”

”I don’t care what your relationship with the patient is! You can’t share a bed with him.”

”Is there such a rule in the hospital...?” Yan Huan didn’t quite understand, ”Isn’t what we’re doing legal?”

Ji Chuan almost burst out laughing at Yan Huan’s irrelevant answer.

”It’s not illegal. But he is a patient who is seriously injured, his body is very weak, he needs proper rest and recuperation! Crowding him like this disrupts his recovery. Look at how much space you’re taking up! What about the patient? This is a hospital bed, a hospital bed!” the chief physician emphasized repeatedly.

”Sorry! Sorry!” Yan Huan finally understood the doctor’s meaning, blushed, and quickly slipped off the bed, retreating to the restroom under the doctors’ disapproving gazes.

”And you too. Are you unaware of your own injuries? Aren’t you a doctor yourself? How do you usually instruct your patients? Do you not realize you still have stitches?” The chief physician did not let Ji Chuan off the hook, criticizing him as well.

”My fault, my fault! It won’t happen again!” Ji Chuan apologized with a bright smile, showing an exceptionally good attitude.

”Glad you understand. Now, let me examine you...”

Yan Huan finished freshening up in the restroom and came out, seeing the doctors surrounding Ji Chuan discussing his condition. She wanted to listen, but after a few phrases of professional jargon, she couldn’t understand, so she decided to go out into the hallway for some fresh air.

Once the doctors leave, she’ll ask about Ji Chuan’s care plans.

Just as she came out of the hallway, she saw Yan Ye standing at the end smoking.

”Brother, when did you arrive? Why are you smoking again?” Yan Huan walked over and snatched the cigarette from his hand.

”I’ve been here a while. Did you sleep well last night?” Yan Ye smiled meaningfully at Yan Huan.

”You saw everything.” Yan Huan said, blushing.

”Hmm. Watching you two so loving reassures me.”

”Brother...”

”What? Are you embarrassed?” Yan Ye stopped teasing her when he saw her face turn red and got straight to the point, ”I was thinking of bringing Ji Chuan back today, have him admitted directly to Nancheng Hospital. This way it’s easier for you to care for him, what do you think?”

”I have no problem with that. But, we’ll need to negotiate with the hospital here.” Yan Huan felt a bit anxious, recalling the chief physician’s harsh criticism.

”That’s easy. After Ji Chuan’s morning treatment, we’ll take him back this afternoon!” Yan Ye made the decision.

”Okay. Sure.” Yan Huan nodded, agreeing.

While the siblings were discussing, the doctor came out of Ji Chuan’s room. Yan Huan quickly approached to ask about Ji Chuan’s condition.

”His injuries are not very severe, but not light either. Pay attention to his diet these days; he has wounds, so he shouldn’t eat certain foods. Avoid fish and shrimp, for example. Despite the cast on his leg, it’s best to minimize movement...” The doctor explained a lot, and Yan Huan carefully noted them all down.
