Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Ning Chenyang fired five shots, except for the first one, the remaining four shots almost all hit the ten-ring mark.

For someone his age to achieve such results, it’s simply miraculous.

”Look, this truly is a case of the newer waves of the Yangtze pushing the old ones forward! If you all don’t work hard, you’ll eventually be eliminated! Look at this kid, then look at yourselves, go back and find the gap!” Captain Zhang took the opportunity to give a firsthand motivational speech to encourage his warriors.

After the shooting, Commissar Liu looked at the obviously still-excited Ning Chenyang and smiled as he asked: ”How was it? Not bad, right? There’s something even more exciting coming up, do you want to see it?”

”Of course I do!” Ning Chenyang shouted loudly.

”Come, follow me and take a look.”

An essential part of every shooting training is the assembly of firearms. Six tables are lined up, each with a rifle on top, and at the leader’s command, the warriors participating in the training start disassembling the guns.

They must dismantle the gun into parts, then reassemble all these parts within the stipulated time.

Only then is it considered complete.

Ning Chenyang stared wide-eyed at the scene, attentively watching the warriors disassemble the firearms and then reassemble them.

Just once, and he memorized it firmly in his mind.

Batch after batch of warriors came up and went down until, in the last group, a warrior named Ma Xiaozhou, no matter what he did, couldn’t complete the assembly within the stipulated time and was harshly scolded by the captain.

Ma Xiaozhou hung his head, listening to the captain’s harsh words: ”Ma Xiaozhou, you’re something else! Every time, you’re the last in gun assembly. I’ve never seen a soldier as useless as you! If this happens again next time, you might as well request to transfer to the cooking class and raise pigs!”

”Yes, Captain!” Ma Xiaozhou stood there embarrassed, unable even to raise his head.

”Uncle Liu, may I give it a try?” Ning Chenyang, in high spirits, wanted to try.

”It’s not that easy to do!” Liu Jing stated.

”If you don’t let me try, how do you know I can’t do it?” Ning Chenyang blinked at him and then walked to the table himself, amidst everyone’s gaze, astonishingly and effortlessly assembling the firearm.

”Wow, you’re something else, kid!”

”Amazing! Truly amazing!”

”Ma Xiaozhou, you’re an embarrassment!”

Ning Chenyang was the center of attention at the camp today. A six-year-old child showcasing an eidetic memory and shooting talent shocked everyone.

Everyone’s attention was on Ning Chenyang!

This feeling, along with the thrilling sensation from handling the firearms, prompted Ning Chenyang to make a bold decision. While Liu Jing was conversing with everyone, he sat aside, repeatedly assembling and disassembling two guns in his hands, quietly removing two crucial small parts.

Due to his special status, and with everyone’s attention on the commissar’s briefing, nobody noticed this bit at all.

After Commissioner Liu finished his speech, Captain Zhang ordered them to gather.

The warriors began collecting the guns placed together and put them into the weapon box, and nobody noticed anything unusual among them.
