Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

The crowd on the playground gradually quieted down.

Qin Jian finished dealing with matters and finally stopped to rest, calculating how long Ning Chenyang had stood as punishment today. This child’s stubbornness and endurance truly exceeded his expectations.

He was pleased to have his impression of Ning Chenyang refreshed once again!

”Commander, you can’t continue this. Otherwise, if your wife finds out later, who knows how long she’ll be mad at you!” Xiaozhou said helplessly, resorting to using An Hao’s identity to put pressure on him.

Qin Jian shivered at the mention of his wife’s name and finally relented: ”Go! Bring Ning Chenyang back to me!”

”Yes, sir!”

Xiaozhou cheerfully went to the playground to find Ning Chenyang, but upon arrival, he discovered Ning Chenyang was gone.

He searched around for a long time without spotting anyone, so he hurried back to report to Qin Jian.

”What? You can’t find him?” Qin Jian immediately realized that the little guy was being difficult, and with a wave of his hand, he said, ”Get the guards to find him for me!”

At the entrance of the division headquarters, Ning Chenyang peeked around for some time, seeing the sentinels on high alert, he knew he couldn’t get out.

He had to choose another route.

It was only his second day there, and he was already thinking of quitting.

He wanted to return to Nancheng; he didn’t want to stay with his father.

However, if he just told his father, he might not agree and might even punish him. Instead, leaving without a word might make his father worry when he finds out he’s missing. It might be good to make him worry a bit.

With this little thought in mind, Ning Chenyang slipped into a small grove close to the perimeter wall of the military base, deciding to climb over the wall to escape.

He crouched under a small tree, spat into his palms, clung onto the tree, and started climbing with the intent of getting over the wall.

Suddenly, a strong beam of flashlight shone on him.

Ning Chenyang raised a hand to shield his eyes, but in doing so, he lost grip with his other hand and fell from the tree.

When he got up, rubbing his sore behind, he saw Qin Jian’s face, as dark as ink.

”Ning Chenyang, well done! You’ve got energy with no place to vent it, huh? Fine, congratulations to you; I’ll ensure your next month is just as you wished!” Qin Jian said to his son, gritting his teeth.

”I want to go back to Nancheng!” Ning Chenyang lifted his small face defiantly.

”Too late!” Qin Jian barked, ”Xiaozhou, take him away!”

...............

Ning Chenyang successfully caused trouble and also succeeded in angering his father, spending the entire week in deep trouble.

However, he dared not directly complain to An Hao.

He feared his father’s retaliation the next day, escalating his training.

For this week, Ji Chuan lived as if in a honey pot. After being injured, the Yan Family showed him extra care, and under Feng Yuzhi’s persistent teachings, Yan Huan has been exceptionally diligent lately.

She stayed by Ji Chuan’s side almost every day, nearly becoming his personal caretaker.

A week later, aside from his leg injury, Ji Chuan had no other issues and could move out of the infirmary and back to his dorm for recovery.

On the weekend, the sun was shining brightly.

It was a good day to be discharged.

In the morning, after checking the wards, An Hao went straight to Ji Chuan’s ward, having heard Ji Chuan was getting discharged, she came to help move some things.
