Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”No... no.” Yan Huan bit her lip as she looked at Ji Chuan, saying no with her mouth, but her eyes clearly showed a hint of disbelief.

”Yan Huan, you know this is a challenge to a man’s ability and self-respect.” Ji Chuan breathed deeply beside her ear, his scorching hands restlessly reaching under Yan Huan’s clothes, ”Want to give it a try?”

The atmosphere today was just right, and he no longer wanted to wait.

Yan Huan was teased by Ji Chuan, feeling a bit itchy inside, her mind in chaos, when suddenly the phone on the table rang.

The sweet and ambiguous atmosphere in the air was instantly interrupted, everything halted!

”Who is it! Calling at such a bad time!!” Ji Chuan angrily exhaled, his brows furrowing into a dark knot, being interrupted at such a moment, he wanted to see who it was, he’d remember that person for life!

”I’ll answer the phone. You rest for a bit!” Yan Huan looked at Ji Chuan’s anxious expression, almost clawing like a pig, even as composed as Ji Chuan could show such an expression. She couldn’t help but laugh.

”Are you gloating?” Ji Chuan saw the curve of her lips, raising an eyebrow as he spoke.

”No, I’m expressing helplessness and regret...” Yan Huan shrugged, the smile at her lips deepening.

The phone kept ringing, Yan Huan pushed Ji Chuan away and got up to answer it: ”Hello, who is this...?”

”Yan Huan! I’m Ji Chuan’s mom!” Meng Qingmei’s voice came from the other end of the phone, ”How is Ji Chuan’s health?”

”Auntie! Don’t worry, Ji Chuan is much better. He has an injury on his leg, in a cast and needs some time to recuperate!” Yan Huan quickly explained the situation as this was a call from her future mother-in-law, ”Auntie, when Ji Chuan was hurt he was worried that you and uncle would be concerned, so he didn’t let me tell you! It seems you know now... but don’t worry, I will definitely take good care of Ji Chuan.”

”I feel relieved having you take care of Ji Chuan. But your uncle and I will come by in a day or two, just wanted to give you a heads-up!” Meng Qingmei replied.

”Are you coming to Nancheng? That’s great, what time is your train, I’ll pick you up at the station!”

”We plan to leave tomorrow, I’ll let you know the exact arrival time once I’ve bought the train tickets.” Meng Qingmei said.

”Okay. I’ll wait for your call tomorrow.”

Hanging up the phone, Yan Huan returned to Ji Chuan’s side, after the call, both of them had calmed down.

”Uncle and Auntie are coming tomorrow.” Yan Huan said.

”That’s pretty quick.” Ji Chuan had just received the call yesterday, saying they would come after arranging family matters, looks like they’ve arranged everything quickly.

”Yes, I guess Uncle and Auntie are terribly worried about you, which is why they’re rushing over.” Yan Huan could understand Ji Chuan’s parents’ feelings.

After all, their own son had a close brush with death, and they knew nothing about it.

Now that they know, they probably wished they could grow wings under their ribs to fly to Nancheng to see their son.

”Hmm.” Ji Chuan nodded, reaching out to hold Yan Huan’s soft hand, ”Tomorrow will be a bit of trouble for you to pick them up, my legs aren’t convenient.”

”Don’t worry.” Yan Huan patted her chest to assure him, ”With your parents coming this time, I will make sure they are well taken care of, definitely won’t let them suffer any grievance!”
