Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

When Qin Jian and his wife brought Ning Chenyang to the hospital, the ward was already crowded.

The Yan family was gathered around Yan Ye, expressing their concern and warmth.

Ji Chuan was like a national treasure at that moment, enjoying everyone’s attention and care.

Seeing Qin Jian and his wife visiting, the Yan family quickly made space and invited them in.

”Ji Chuan, how are you feeling? Any better?” Qin Jian stood by the bedside, looking down at Ji Chuan. Despite the many injuries, Ji Chuan appeared to be in good spirits.

”I’m fine. My injuries are not too serious. It’s rather embarrassing to have Commander Qin visit me personally,” Ji Chuan said half-jokingly.

”Get well soon on purpose then. This way, Yan Huan can take more care of you during this time, and the two of you can take this opportunity to grow closer, so that certain someone...” An Hao deliberately left her sentence hanging, smiling as she glanced at Yan Huan who was sitting beside Ji Chuan, hoping she’d catch the hint.

”Tch. That person doesn’t stand a chance anymore. Your old Qin did a great deed this time,” Yan Huan gave a thumbs up to Qin Jian, ”Thanks a lot.”

”I’ve heard about it. But Qiu Xinyi is a scheming person; I’ve met her a few times. You still need to be careful,” An Hao reminded her.

”She’s about to leave, what kind of storm can she possibly stir up?” Yan Huan said nonchalantly.

”I’m telling you not to underestimate her,” An Hao cautioned Yan Huan.

”An Hao is right. You, child, are simple-minded, not harboring ill intentions towards others, nor guarding against them. Since you’ve seen how shameless Qiu Xinyi can be, you should be more vigilant in the future. I trust Ji Chuan, but can you guarantee that Qiu Xinyi won’t cause trouble behind your back?” Feng Yuzhi seized the moment to advise her daughter.

”I get it. But weren’t you all here to visit the sick today? Why is it that after a few words, the conversation is suddenly targeting me?”

”Who asked you to be simple-minded and not even physically strong!” Ning Chenyang, who had been hiding behind his parents, couldn’t help but speak up, and his words made the adults in the room burst into laughter.

”You little rascal!” Yan Luquan looked at Ning Chenyang with appreciation, ”Do you know that your grandparents at the nursing home are missing you, little one?”

”Grandpa Yan, I didn’t know that. But right now, all I know is if no one takes this bouquet off my hands, I’m going to drop from exhaustion,” Ning Chenyang complained while shaking the heavy bouquet of carnations in his arms.

”Who told you to keep quiet about it? Wasn’t this a task you volunteered for?” An Hao laughed as she took the opportunity to push her son towards the bedside.

Ning Chenyang handed the bunch of flowers to Ji Chuan: ”Godfather! Wishing you a speedy recovery!”

”Alright! Thanks to my precious son!” Hearing this made Ji Chuan overjoyed.

”Okay, my task is done. You all continue, I’m going out for a bit,” Ning Chenyang didn’t want to stay in the ward listening to the adults talk about Yan Huan’s marriage.

He felt that ever since he could remember, Yan Huan’s marriage was the topic of conversation among the Yan family every day, and he was getting tired of hearing it.

Listening to it was tiresome.

With this much time, he figured he’d rather run around and play on his own in the hospital corridors for a while.

”Yangyang, don’t run around! Your dad will take you away soon,” An Hao casually reminded Ning Chenyang.
