Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Old Qin, are you really going to punish your son?” Liu Jing walked out of the room with a teacup in hand, saw the straight little figure on the playground, and laughed, ”He’s still a kid, just curious for a moment. Why bother punishing him like this? Look at the blazing sun, aren’t you afraid he’ll get heatstroke?”

Qin Jian’s lips twitched slightly, ”This kid is too audacious! I’ve been away from home for years, his mother doesn’t impose much discipline, and he’s becoming more reckless! Remember what I told you last time? He even drove Wang Zhong’s car right out of the compound. How dangerous is that?”

”Hahaha! Your son is quite a talent!” Liu Jing laughed heartily, ”Actually, I’m at fault too for not keeping a better eye on the kid. Just let it go! After all, he’s not a soldier, a symbolic punishment is enough. No need to be so hard on him!”

Qin Jian smiled, ”That kid is stubborn. Look at all those little movements! I bet he’s brooding inside, thinking about how to defy me!”

”Really?”

”Really.”

Ning Chenyang was aware that Qin Jian was standing in the opposite building watching him, and he was indeed harboring resentment.

He’s indignant, he knows he’s wrong, so why must he be punished?

Especially since it’s with this military posture method, which he hates the most!

Feeling indignant, he started fidgeting more! With all these little movements, Qin Jian knew his son was defiant, and the ensuing punishment naturally increased.

”Sir, two hours have passed.” Guard Xiaozhou, ordered by Qin Jian to supervise Ning Chenyang from the building, reported the situation.

”Tell me, a lot of movements, right?” Qin Jian asked without looking up.

”Yes.”

”Tell him to add two more hours of military posture! If he keeps fidgeting like this, he won’t be allowed to eat lunch!” Qin Jian said decisively.

”Sir, isn’t this punishment a bit harsh?” Xiaozhou felt sorry for Ning Chenyang, after all, he was just a five or six-year-old child.

”Just carry out the order!” Qin Jian replied.

”This...” Xiaozhou hesitated, looking at Qin Jian for a long time, but seeing there was no room for negotiation, he reluctantly went to the playground.

Ning Chenyang saw Xiaozhou coming from afar and was delighted, but upon hearing Xiaozhou say he had to add two more hours, his temper flared up instantly. He refused to stand in military posture any longer.

He made a fuss to see Qin Jian, but Qin Jian wouldn’t meet him.

Ning Chenyang was furious!

This visit to the troops was anything but pleasant, he realized that following his father did not lead to a good life.

He would rather go back to the courtyard where he was free and carefree.

Although Ning Chenyang didn’t want to stand as punishment, he couldn’t defy Qin Jian’s orders.

The whole day he had trouble stirring in his heart, and was stuck standing on the playground all day by Qin Jian’s orders.

By evening, he was already starving.

Qin Jian finally ordered him to go eat, but to return and continue reflecting on his mistakes after the meal.

After dinner, Ning Chenyang was escorted by Xiaozhou to the playground, and before leaving, he angrily shouted at Qin Jian, ”Am I really your son?”

On the summer night, stars twinkled in the sky. Ning Chenyang gazed at the distant sky as he stood there, realizing his father was determined to make him stand until he relented.
