Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Yan Huan peeked her head in from outside and saw Ji Chuan lying on the bed in boredom. She smirked and slipped inside swiftly.

”Are you hungry? I brought you dinner.” Yan Huan shook the insulated container in her hand and walked up to Ji Chuan.

”Not bad. You actually remembered to bring me food! I thought you’d leave me here without a word once you saw a crowd.” Ji Chuan grinned; it was clear his mood had improved.

Yan Huan thought to herself, as expected of Ji Chuan, he’s so understanding of her, he could easily guess what she was thinking.

However, seeing Ji Chuan in such a good mood, she didn’t have the heart to tell the truth and decided to let him stay mistaken.

From now on, she needed to treat Ji Chuan even better.

”Come on. My mom made dumplings and cooked chicken soup for you, to help you recover.” Yan Huan placed the insulated container aside and carefully poured the food into bowls, ”My parents, and my brother and sister-in-law, said they would visit you tomorrow morning. They want you to rest and recover in peace.”

”Alright. Thank our parents and sister-in-law for me,” Ji Chuan said with a smile.

”Whose parents? You’ve got quite the nerve, haven’t you?”

”If I weren’t persistent, could I have won you over?” Ji Chuan blinked, speaking with evident confidence.

”Hmph.” Yan Huan rolled her eyes at him, ”You’re such a chatterbox. Come on, let’s eat.”

”Uh... I don’t think I can right now,” Ji Chuan looked at Yan Huan with some embarrassment.

”Why not?”

”Because I need to go to the bathroom.”

”Ah?” Yan Huan was troubled, ”But your leg isn’t convenient, it’s still in a cast.”

”That’s why I need your help!”

Yan Huan: ”...”

”Will you help me?” Ji Chuan thought she was reluctant.

”Help. Of course I’ll help,” Yan Huan agreed, extending her hand to firmly support Ji Chuan, helping him move to sit on the edge of the bed, then crouching down to carefully put a shoe on his foot.

Ji Chuan let her do all of this, following her lead.

”Lean on me... We’ll move slowly, don’t rush, follow my count, one, two, one...”

Yan Huan used all her energy to help Ji Chuan to the bathroom. She wanted to leave, but couldn’t, as Ji Chuan couldn’t balance on one leg.

She had no choice but to close her eyes, standing beside Ji Chuan like a human crutch.

”Yan Huan, help me with my pants...” Ji Chuan’s voice came from beside her ear.

Yan Huan, eyes shut, felt her face heat up. She reached out to fumble with Ji Chuan’s pants, then suddenly stopped, opened her eyes, and glared at Ji Chuan: ”Your leg is hurt, not your hands! Are you trying to take advantage of me? Hmph!”

Ji Chuan chuckled: ”You’ve caught me. Guess I’ll have to do it myself.”

Yan Huan closed her eyes again, listening to the awkward sound of running water, feeling her cheeks burning.

So hot! Too hot!

So embarrassing! It’s mortifying!

Once Ji Chuan finished, Yan Huan again used all her strength to help him back to the bed.

After she got him settled, Yan Huan wiped the sweat from her brow, adjusted Ji Chuan’s sheets, and positioned his leg comfortably. As she raised her hand, she caught the mischievous smile at the corner of Ji Chuan’s mouth.

”What’s up? Why are you smiling? Seeing you smile makes me feel a little uneasy...”
