Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”This is a rare opportunity! It’s hard to finally get to spend more time with you. If I don’t seize it, letting it slip away would make me a fool, wouldn’t it?” Ji Chuan joked with Yan Huan, his hands never stopping.

”I think... we’ll have plenty of chances to be together in the future,” Yan Huan murmured with her head down.

Between her and Cheng Yue, there should be no possibilities left, right?

”That’s even better.” Ji Chuan smiled contentedly.

Dinner prepared by Ji Chuan wasn’t particularly rich. Because he and Jason were always discussing Yan Huan’s condition, they spent quite a bit of time, so tonight it’s just some home-cooked dishes.

Jason didn’t mind, devouring the food as soon as it was served.

”Ji, your cooking is becoming more and more delicious. I love the food from your country! If possible, I hope to stay here a bit longer.”

”That would be great. I also hope you can stay a bit longer! This way, you can help Yan Huan with psychological counseling! Ideally, wait until Yan Huan’s condition is fully cured before you leave!” Ji Chuan couldn’t wish more for Jason to stay a bit longer.

”Ji, you’re playing your cards right.”

”Thank you for the compliment.” Ji Chuan laughed, putting more food onto Jason’s plate, ”Come on, eat a bit more!”

Jason nodded with satisfaction, ”Thank you! I can take care of myself! You should take care of your little darling more!”

...............

After dinner, it was already late.

Ji Chuan sent Yan Huan back, the night breeze was cool, and the two of them got off the bus silently making their way into the PLA courtyard.

”Ji Chuan, thank you so much today.” At the entrance of the courtyard, Yan Huan stopped, ”And please thank Mr. Jason for me too!”

”Don’t worry, I will. You go back! I’ll watch you from here!” Ji Chuan looked at Yan Huan with eyes softly smiling.

”Mm.” Yan Huan turned and headed back without hesitation.

She had just walked a few steps when she heard Ji Chuan’s clear and bright voice behind her: ”Yan Huan, Jason said your psychological illness will definitely be cured. However, the premise is that you must tell everything, don’t hide anything! The more detailed you speak, the easier it will be for him to analyze your condition and formulate a treatment plan for you.”

Yan Huan felt warm inside hearing this: ”I will. Don’t forget, you promised me that once I’m healed, you’d take me around the beautiful landscapes of our motherland!”

”It’s a deal!”

Yan Huan left, turning back three times as she walked away.

Ji Chuan watched Yan Huan’s figure, the smile on his lips gradually faded until it finally disappeared.

He headed towards the bus stop to catch the last bus back to the PLA Affiliated Hospital. Originally, he intended to go back to the dormitory directly, but he suddenly remembered Jason’s words.

To help Yan Huan heal, one must understand the cause of the illness.

Since it’s impossible to get more useful information from Yan Huan now, Ji Chuan decided to ask Yan Ye about it.

In the inpatient building, in the obstetrics ward.

Ji Chuan quietly came to the room where Lin Qiushu was.

The night was deep, the room was silent. Lin Qiushu was holding her newborn child, breastfeeding, while Yan Ye lay on another bed, watching this warm scene.
