Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2436: Chapter 2429: American Expert

”Dad? Is what you said true?” Cheng Yue could hardly believe his ears upon suddenly hearing this news, ”You’re not tricking me, are you?”

”Do I look like it?” Cheng Nanfang said with a serious face.

”Doesn’t look like it.” Cheng Yue finally laughed, ”This happiness came too suddenly, I’m not used to it yet.”

”Silly child.” Qi Siyuan wiped her tears and also laughed.

”It’s just about Shen Qiqi... I feel a bit sorry for her.” If it weren’t for Yan Huan, Cheng Yue might have fallen for her.

Because girls like Shen Qiqi, so naive, so stubborn, and so wholeheartedly good to him are truly rare.

Though she’s quite spoiled and often unreasonable, she’s genuinely exceptionally good to him.

”So what can be done?” Cheng Nanfang sighed deeply, ”Since you’ve chosen Yan Huan, then reject Qiqi’s affection and goodwill. There’s no chance for you two, you can’t keep stringing someone along. Qiqi’s not young anymore, don’t waste the best years of her youth. As for your Uncle Shen, if I have the time, I’ll find a way to apologize.”

”Okay. Thank you, Dad!” For the first time in days, Cheng Yue felt like his skies had cleared.

.....................

Ji Chuan came out of the bathroom, and the phone on the living room table rang.

He quickly walked over and picked up the phone, hearing a voice in perfect American English, ”Ah! Jim! This is Jason!”

”Jason!” Ji Chuan was very surprised to receive Jason’s call at this time, ”I didn’t expect you’d call me at this hour! How is it? How’s the research going on my friend’s medical condition I talked to you about last time?”

”Hmm!” Jason switched to Chinese, and although not very fluent, normal conversation was not a problem, ”I still need to see some case records and diagnostic results.”

”I’m already preparing them. I’ll make a preliminary assessment of the condition, then sort everything out and send it to you as soon as possible!”

”Oh! Ji Chuan! What I want to tell you is, you don’t need to send it to me, I am currently in your country and will arrive in Nancheng in about two days. If it’s convenient for you, can you come pick me up?”

”Of course!” Ji Chuan was extremely excited, ”Jason, I’ve been dreaming of you coming!”

Laughter came from the other end of the phone, ”I bet you’re not sincere!”

”Of course, I am sincere!”

”I don’t believe it.” Jason said with a laugh, ”Actually, I’m already very eager to see what your little cutie is like!”

Ji Chuan: ”Hey! Jason! Please don’t speak recklessly in front of my friends, OK?”

”NO OK!” Jason spouted in a heavily accented Chinese English, ”I can hear it, Ji Chuan, you’re anxious! In my eyes, Ji Chuan, you’re someone who wouldn’t worry even if the sky falls. As a man, I’ve analyzed this and come to the conclusion that you must have met a woman who makes your heart race! At that time, I really do want to meet your Little Pumpkin!”

”Hey hey hey!” Ji Chuan laughed heartily, ”Jason, you’re still as mischievous as ever!”

”Haha! Right back at you! See you then! I’m really curious what kind of taste our Ji Chuan has, will it amaze me?”

”Amazing you is useless. What’s important is that I like her!”
