Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2418: Chapter 2411: Settling the Score with Her

”Alright, alright. Since we don’t have evidence, let’s just take the loss this time.” Liang Xiuzhu felt it was a pity, but what could they do with such neighbors?

Even if you tell the village chief, it won’t be of much use.

Unless you have evidence to send her to jail.

But she just steals some food and drink, it’s not enough to send her to jail.

Their goal was just to hope Liu Qiaoqiao would stop stealing, not to actually send her to prison, after all, once you’re in jail, your life is ruined.

The whole Liang family are very kind and honest people, and they don’t want to see others in trouble.

”Fine. We all need to be careful in the future!” He Fusheng agreed.

”Alright then. Boil some water and get the kids up to move around. Tonight, I’ll make a big pot of stew for you all!” Liang Xiuzhu said.

”Alright. Marrying such a virtuous wife like you, I must have burned a lot of incense for good luck!” He Fusheng took advantage when his wife wasn’t noticing, leaned over, and kissed Liang Xiuzhu on the cheek.

”Oh, you’re already grown up, don’t you know any shame?” Liang Xiuzhu chided with her mouth, but there was a hint of a smile in her eyes.

He Fusheng went to the room to wake the kids up, while Liang Xiuzhu was busy in the kitchen, preparing to separate the meat soup and ribs in the pot.

She fetched a skimmer, squatted by the large iron pot to scoop out the ribs. As a result, she was shocked herself.

Clearly, there were still quite a few ribs in the pot, but now upon waking up, there were only two pieces left.

She looked closely and saw a leftover gnawed bone on the ground.

”Fusheng! Fusheng!” Liang Xiuzhu was truly angry, she shouted loudly, ”Come here for a moment!”

”What’s wrong?” He Fusheng heard his wife calling and quickly turned back.

”The meat is gone! There are only two pieces left in this pot!” Liang Xiuzhu said angrily, ”Tell me, how can someone like Liu Qiaoqiao be this bad? I’m going to confront her!”

”Forget it! What’s the use of confronting her now? Even if you go now, she’s already eaten the meat. It’s your meat, who would believe you?”

”That’s not acceptable! Liu Qiaoqiao has gone too far, I think she thinks she can bully us because we’re honest people! Does she take us for fools?”

”Don’t stoop to her level. Let it go this time. If we catch her again, without saying a word, we’ll give her a hard time! If we can catch her red-handed, it will be much easier to handle! Then we’ll let the whole village see Liu Qiaoqiao’s true face!”

Her husband kept comforting Liang Xiuzhu. She thought it made sense, and so she suppressed her anger.

She returned to the large iron pot, scooped out all the meat, and poured the meat soup into an enamel basin.

But unexpectedly, after the meat soup was drained, she found a silver coin-made ring at the bottom of the pot.

She recognized the ring as Liu Qiaoqiao’s.

If she hadn’t come to steal, how could her ring be in their pot?

What was even more infuriating was that Liu Qiaoqiao had actually put her hand in the meat soup to fish it out. Would anyone eat the remaining stuff? How could they eat it?

”The father of my children, I have to go find this Liu Qiaoqiao! In this entire He Family Manor, it’s only her family that bullies people!” Liang Xiuzhu tightly clenched the ring in her hand and rushed out.
