Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2412: Chapter 2405: A Hidden Paradise

As soon as He Fusheng heard that Qin Jian and An Hao had arrived, he quickly ran to the front gate.

Sure enough, Qin Jian and An Hao came with a bunch of stuff again, and besides them, there was a woman they didn’t recognize.

”Brother He, we’re here! Came to see you all and check on how Chenguang has been doing lately!” Qin Jian said.

”Brother Qin! Sister-in-law! You’re all here! Come on, come inside!” He Fusheng warmly welcomed them into the house and called Liang Xiuzhu, who was busy in the kitchen, to join them.

The house suddenly became lively with people.

”Brother He, Sister-in-law, sorry to bother you again,” An Hao said courteously.

Liang Xiuzhu skillfully made tea for them, placed it on the table, and said happily, ”Sister-in-law, you’re too polite. Fusheng and I are always happy for you to visit. Chenguang loves it when you all come. We’re delighted too, though life here in the mountains can’t compare to the city, it’s more peaceful and quiet here!”

”Of course. It’s like a paradise here.” An Hao really liked the place.

”Do come more often when you have time,” He Fusheng said with a smile, offering his pipe to Qin Jian, ”Rest assured, Guangguang has been doing fine over the past month. The village is very quiet, hardly any cars pass by. He’s not had any episodes here!”

”That’s wonderful,” An Hao said joyfully, ”As long as our child is healthy, we as parents can relax. I’ve brought some more medicine for him this time, please do give it to her, brother.”

”Don’t worry about that,” He Fusheng readily agreed.

”You all spend time with the child. I’ll go buy some meat and have your sister-in-law make some of her specialty dishes, and we’ll have a drink at lunch!” He Fusheng said.

”Buy meat? There’s no need!” Qin Jian hurriedly stopped He Fusheng, ”An Hao bought plenty of meat and ribs; they’re all in the car. Earlier, we had Xiaozhou park at the village entrance so as not to disturb Chenguang with the car noise!”

”Look at you all, this really makes me upset!” He Fusheng said, lowering his face, ”What? Are you worried your child might be mistreated here? So every time you bring a lot of stuff back?”

”It’s not like that, Brother He. He...”

An Hao tried to explain, but He Fusheng interrupted, ”Don’t say anything. If you trust me, don’t bring any more stuff in the future. If you don’t, then take the child with you.”

”Brother He, don’t be upset, we won’t buy anything next time,” Qin Jian quickly agreed.

Ning Chenguang still needed some time to recover here, and he knew He Fusheng was just pretending to be upset to stop him from bringing things.

The family truly has a rare kindness.

”That’s more like it,” He Fusheng finally smiled, ”I consider you all family, so don’t be formal with me. You’ve already given us more than enough, we aren’t lacking in anything.”

”We’ll do as Brother He says!”

Xiaozhou and He Fusheng went to the village entrance, brought the car back, and took the meat and ribs out.

There was at least ten kilograms of meat, and since the weather was hot, it wouldn’t keep well, so He Fusheng instructed his wife to cook it all, so everyone could eat meat at lunch today.

In the courtyard,

He Fusheng set up a big iron pot, built a stove out of bricks, added some firewood, and started a big fire.

Liang Xiuzhu busied herself with chopping the meat and putting it in the pot to stew.
