Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2416: Chapter 2409: The Meat Thief

An Hao knew exactly the situation in He Fusheng’s house. Being neighbors for so many years, every time she came over, she would observe what was going on in other people’s homes.

Especially after He Fusheng developed a relationship with Qin Jian’s family, the endless supply of food and supplies being sent over made her eyes all but grow hooks, wishing she could hook everything into her own house.

So, since then, her visits to the house increased.

Liu Qiaoqiao went straight to the kitchen. They had just finished their meal, and the pots and pans had just been cleaned up. There was definitely some leftover food from lunch.

When she came over earlier, she saw that great big iron pot in the yard, bubbling away. That pot was full of ribs and meat, and the aroma was so enticing it could make a person swoon.

That was a big full pot, and they definitely couldn’t finish it. She could definitely take some away.

With the weather so hot, anything uneaten was sure to spoil. So, rather than letting it spoil and be thrown away, it would be better to give it to her.

At least someone would eat it!

Liu Qiaoqiao lifted the lid off the big iron pot on the kitchen floor, and sure enough, there were still quite a few pieces of rib meat soaking in the broth.

The tantalizing aroma drilled straight into her nostrils, and she couldn’t even bother looking for chopsticks. She just reached in directly to grab a piece of rib and squatted on the ground, gnawing and sucking it up.

The taste was so delightful it felt like she could bite off her own tongue.

Liu Qiaoqiao quickly pulled out the bag she had prepared from her bosom and swiftly scooped out ribs and meat from the broth.

In one go, she scooped out seven or eight pieces. Running her hand through, she felt that the contents of the pot had reduced considerably. She shook off the oil and water from her hands, wrapped the bag, stuffed it into her bosom, and headed out.

Just as she reached the kitchen door, she spotted a bottle of wine on the kitchen windowsill. The cap wasn’t properly sealed, and the fragrance of the wine, overflowing, was unusually enticing.

Without even thinking, Liu Qiaoqiao stealthily took the wine as well.

“He Fusheng must have hit the jackpot! How did he end up with such a little money tree?” Liu Qiaoqiao mumbled to herself as she walked, “You’re eating meat, I might as well drink some broth.”

……………

Qin Jian and An Hao kissed their son for a while before they set him down.

A basketful of reminders and gratitude had been spoken already, making He Fusheng anxious just listening to it.

“I’ve said it, you don’t need to be so polite. I consider you family, how come you always treat me like an outsider?”

“Exactly! Mom and Dad, you should go. I’m doing fine here. Once I’m better, I’ll return.” Ning Chenguang had already adapted to life here.

For him, although parting was sad, this parting was a prelude to the next reunion.

“You better hurry along. Be careful on the road.” Liang Xiuzhu handed An Hao some prepared locust flowers, “These were picked by the three kids, you can wash them and eat them when you get back.”

“Alright, then… goodbye…”

The military vehicle drove away, and He Fusheng returned home with his family. He never imagined that in such a short few minutes, his household goods could be stolen by someone.

By the time she noticed, it was already afternoon.

After waking from an afternoon nap, He Fusheng went to the kitchen to boil water for tea, and his eyes inadvertently fell on a gnawed bone lying on the kitchen floor.
