Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2424: Chapter 2417: Get Your Ass Out Here Right Now

Ning Chenguang gave the command, and the little buddies rolled up the firewood they brought and stuffed it into the chimney.

That’s right, the equipment they brought was firewood meant to block the chimney!

The buddies on the roof were all busy with their tasks, while the ones in front of Liu Qiaoqiao’s house were also actively engaged.

Pang Di led some buddies to exert great effort to set up traps in front of her door, just waiting to watch the show later.

In the kitchen, Liu Qiaoqiao was diligently working the bellows and constantly throwing dry wood into the stove.

However, instead of the fire burning brighter, it grew weaker, and soon the kitchen was filled with thick smoke.

”Cough, cough! Cough, cough!” The smoke was irritating, causing Liu Qiaoqiao to cough incessantly.

”Hee hee!” The kids upstairs saw the smoke decreasing, held back laughter, covering their mouths, afraid of being discovered.

”Cough, cough, cough, cough!” The smoke in the kitchen became denser, making Liu Qiaoqiao cough severely, ”Huh? What’s going on? Why is the smoke coming inside? Chengcai! Chengcai! Hurry and check the roof, is the chimney blocked?”

Liu Chengcai was lying on the kang inside, engrossed in his comic book, reluctant to go upstairs. He didn’t even come to the door, just shouted, ”It’s fine! Didn’t you cook earlier this morning? Wasn’t the chimney fine then?”

”But now it’s broken!” Liu Qiaoqiao spoke amidst the kitchen enveloped in smoke.

She was enveloped in smoke, the irritating smell reddening her eyes, and filling her lungs. She couldn’t continue steaming buns, rushed out of the kitchen coughing heavily.

Her coughing sounded as if she’d cough out her lungs.

”Chengcai! Chengcai! You little rascal! Are you nesting inside, hatching eggs?” Liu Qiaoqiao hollered at her son, with her husband away, she couldn’t rely on this teenager.

”I’m reading a book!” Liu Chengcai retorted, engrossed in a heated fight scene in his comic book, unwilling to go out.

”Reading your father’s head! Get out immediately!” Liu Qiaoqiao shouted, cursing.

”Why are you always shouting!” Liu Chengcai was annoyed, ”Isn’t it just the chimney not smoking? Can’t you just check the roof yourself?”

”Why did I raise you? You’re useless at everything, never satisfied! If I raised a pig, I could at least eat meat during New Year! What’s the point of having you!” Liu Qiaoqiao was furious, unable to stop cursing.

”Then just go yourself!” Liu Chengcai refused to come out.

”A son that’s useless!” Liu Qiaoqiao, realizing her son wasn’t helpful, decided to go to the roof herself.

When the children on the roof were clutching their bellies from laughing, Liu Qiaoqiao was about to climb up.

”Quick, signal the folks at the front!” Ning Chenguang suggested.

As soon as he spoke, He Mu pulled out his usual toy slingshot, loaded a small pebble, and shot it.

The pebble landed at the front door, and upon hearing the sound, He Yue softly whispered, ”My brother signaled! That means Liu Qiaoqiao is coming up!”
