Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2342: Chapter 2335: You Came to See Me?

However, the pounding heartbeat clearly told him.

He was in love!

He had known Yan Huan for quite some time, but they hadn’t interacted much.

Initially, he had jokingly mentioned wanting to pursue Yan Huan, but she showed no interest in dating him.

So he took it as a casual mention in life, but who knew that in these two years, he’d have a chance to be noticed by Aunt Feng.

Moreover, she showed him great favor, prompting the two of them to have a matchmaking meeting.

At that moment, Ji Chuan realized the opportunity was right in front of him, and if he didn’t seize it, he might miss out on happiness for the rest of his life.

After bumping along in the car for over an hour, the land of Hanshan Village finally was under Ji Chuan’s feet.

...............

Yan Huan had a lengthy dream.

In the dream, she wore a white wedding gown and excitedly rushed towards her groom, her silver bell-like laughter echoing along the way.

But she couldn’t clearly see the groom’s face before being awakened by the sound of raindrops on the tent.

She opened her eyes and listened for a while.

It was raining.

Yan Huan glanced at the time, it was already past seven, yet it was still very quiet outside.

It must be because of the rain today that fewer people came to see the doctor.

She got up and walked out of the tent to take a look; outside it was gloomy and dark, as if brewing a storm.

It seemed like nobody would come today.

Just as Yan Huan was about to retract her head, she suddenly saw a figure in the distance walking towards her, drenched from head to toe like a wet chicken.

”Is someone really coming to see the doctor this early?” Yan Huan muttered to herself, pulled her head back into the tent, quickly dressed, and retrieved an umbrella from her belongings before running into the rain.

She wanted to help out.

With such heavy rain, if he got soaked any longer, he would definitely catch a cold.

Yan Huan held her umbrella, jogging from the grassy area to the path, waving her hands and shouting to him, ”Hurry up, I have an umbrella!”

He heard her voice, looked up, and suddenly started running quickly.

Yan Huan quickened her pace too, and they finally met. At that moment, through the layers of rain, Yan Huan saw clearly that the drenched figure was Ji Chuan.

”You... why are you here?” Yan Huan finally spoke, shocked.

Ji Chuan’s lips curled into a smile, his beautiful peach blossom eyes twinkling at her in the rain: ”What do you think?”

”Are you here to see me...?”

”What do you think?” Ji Chuan wiped the rain off his face, pointed to the umbrella in Yan Huan’s hand, and said, ”Aren’t you here to pick me up? Shouldn’t this umbrella lean a bit closer to me?”

Yan Huan realized she had the umbrella while Ji Chuan was still standing in the rain getting soaked.

”Ah, sorry! I forgot for a moment!” Yan Huan quickly lowered the umbrella to cover Ji Chuan as well.

With the rain overhead suddenly stopped, a small intimate space formed under the umbrella.

In this space, Yan Huan and Ji Chuan were only separated by a small gap, so close that they could almost hear each other’s breathing.

”How did you know it was me?” Ji Chuan asked with a smile.

”I didn’t know it was you. I just thought it might be a patient coming to see the doctor, didn’t want him to get too wet and catch a cold...”
