Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2303: Chapter 2296: Give Him a Chance

”Hmm. I really don’t know what to do. Comrade Lao Feng is firmly against me having any contact with Cheng Yue. To be honest, I don’t have confidence either. And, do you know who my blind date was today? Ji Chuan!”

”Ji Chuan!” An Hao’s eyes lit up and she laughed, ”That’s great! Let me tell you, Ji Chuan is definitely a good man! Do you know how many women at the hospital are interested in him? Plenty of obvious and subtle hints, but Comrade Ji Chuan remains steadfast! I trust him!”

”You also support me being with Ji Chuan? But I’ve already turned him down! I’m not attracted to him!” Yan Huan said.

”So, you’ve set your sights on Cheng Yue then?”

”I wouldn’t say I’ve set my sights exactly. Overall, I’m very conflicted!”

”Here’s an idea, don’t rush to conclusions right now. Give Ji Chuan a chance, and also give Cheng Yue a chance! Start as friends with both of them, get to know them step by step, and ultimately decide who to choose!”

”What? Isn’t that like keeping one foot in each boat?” Yan Huan got excited, ”I couldn’t pull something like that off!”

An Hao was exasperated: ”Why do you think like that? I’m just suggesting you give Ji Chuan a chance to get to know him; maybe he’s a good choice. Since you can’t let go of Cheng Yue, then give him a chance too. If you think this is keeping one foot in each boat, you can first choose one to date, and if you find he’s truly not for you, then move on!”

”Can I do that?” Yan Huan asked.

”I think An Hao is right. You’re too stubborn. I suggest you start dating Ji Chuan first! He’s a nice guy; I quite appreciate him. As for Cheng Yue, since he loves you, he shouldn’t give up on you! Since he’s come all this way for you, he should be ready for a long fight.” Qin Jian analyzed clearly for Yan Huan, ”This is also your chance; it can be a test for Cheng Yue too!”

”Great! This way I can give Comrade Lao Feng an explanation.” Yan Huan took the advice and felt much more at ease.

Feng Yuzhi returned home, pacing anxiously downstairs alone, her mind never at ease.

Although she decided to let Yan Huan date on her own, she couldn’t stop worrying about her naive daughter possibly getting duped by Cheng Yue.

”Hey, could you sit down? Your pacing around all day is making me dizzy!” Yan Luquan was playing chess alone, and already feeling agitated without anyone to play with, and now his wife was adding to the chaos.

”Go play your chess! Why do you care what I do?”

”What time is it? Aren’t you going to cook? If our son and his wife aren’t coming back for dinner, are you intending to starve this old man?” Yan Luquan protested.

”Eat, eat, eat, all you think about is eating! Can’t you care a bit about our daughter’s situation?”

”I’m concerned, I’m concerned.” Yan Luquan said he was concerned, but his eyes never left the chessboard.

Feng Yuzhi got angry seeing this and went up to flip the chessboard out of Yan Luquan’s hands.

”You... are you starting a rebellion?”

”Yes! You’re not concerned about your daughter, and I’m angry!” Feng Yuzhi plopped down in front of Yan Luquan, ”Your daughter is already thirty...”

”Same old story!” Yan Luquan was afraid of his wife, raising both his hands, ”Tell me, how should I care? Didn’t you already introduce her to Ji Chuan?”

”Yes, but our daughter can’t get on the right track! Do you think we should give her a push?” Feng Yuzhi thought it was necessary.
