Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2327: Chapter 2320: A Few Kind Words

”Business trip? Where are you going for the business trip?” Ji Chuan was puzzled.

”Going to support the countryside! Isn’t it that each department has to send a doctor? Didn’t Cheng Yue go from your department?” An Hao replied.

Ji Chuan nodded, ”That’s right. But I remember someone from the cardiology department went too. What is a surgeon like you doing there? You can’t perform heart surgeries on-site.”

”Dr. Zhu had a family member pass away. We aren’t too busy lately, as winter is a high season for cardiovascular diseases, it’s a bit better in spring and summer. Although I’m a surgeon, I’m still a doctor first!”

”That’s true.” Ji Chuan trusted An Hao’s medical skills, ”I just feel like sending you there is a bit of overkill!”

”I’ll follow the leadership’s arrangements!” An Hao also wasn’t very eager to go, mainly because she was thinking about her husband and children at home.

Since Qin Jian became a commander, he’s been busier than ever, hardly having time for the kids.

The in-laws were in recovery; her father-in-law is getting older, and his heart condition isn’t promising.

Therefore, An Hao didn’t want to trouble her in-laws.

”Alright. Since you have other things to do, you should go early. Take more stuff with you when you go; it’s quite impoverished there!” Ji Chuan advised An Hao, then suddenly added, ”Yan Huan also went there, maybe you could meet! If you do, please take care of her.”

”Yan Huan also went? Sure, I’ll look after her, no problem! Director Ji, if you don’t mind me asking, how are things going between you two? Any progress?” An Hao was secretly concerned about Yan Huan’s love life.

”Hard to say.” Ji Chuan scratched his head, ”You know she has someone in her heart. Maybe she’s with Cheng Yue now, who knows!”

An Hao smiled and patted Ji Chuan on the shoulder, ”Director Ji, you have to work hard! Yan Huan is a straightforward, good girl. Although she seems carefree, she’s actually quite genuine. She’s very committed; once she’s certain about her feelings, she’ll dive right in! However, Cheng Yue’s previous actions hurt Yan Huan a bit, so she can’t open up to him again. This is your chance!”

”Thank you. If you get the chance, please put in a good word for me!” Ji Chuan said with a smile.

”Sure. I’ll do my best. I’m leaving tomorrow morning; do you have anything you want to send to Yan Huan?” An Hao reminded him.

Ji Chuan was a good guy.

At his age, finally meeting someone he likes, An Hao also hoped to help him.

”Well...” Ji Chuan hesitated.

”What is it? Do you or don’t you?”

”I do.” Last time, Ji Chuan prepared a gift for Yan Huan—a blue silk scarf, but he didn’t end up giving it to her. Because he saw Yan Huan bending over to pick up the rose petals Cheng Yue had tossed to her in the wind.

Her movements were so careful, so cherishing, that Ji Chuan felt perhaps his gift might not be something Yan Huan would readily accept.

”What is it? Go get it! I’ll wait for you here.” An Hao was in no rush to go home.

”Wait a moment. It’s not in the dorm, it’s in my office.” Ji Chuan quickly turned to retrieve it.

A few minutes later, Ji Chuan returned with a beautifully wrapped small gift box in his hand.

”A gift?” An Hao thought it was some snacks or the like, ”Can I open it and take a look?”
